Background:The effects of acupuncture have varied in different randomized controlled trials(RCTs),and there are many factors that influence treatment effect of acupuncture in different outcomes,with conflicting ***:To identify factors and their impact on the treatment effect of acupuncture in different ***:Acupuncture RCTs were searched from 7 databases including Medline(Pub Med),Embase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,VIP Database,and China Biology medicine disc between January 1st,2015 and December 31st,*** studies must compare acupuncture to no acupuncture,sham acupuncture,or waiting lists,and report at least 1patient-important outcome.A multi-level meta-regression was conducted using a 3-level robust mixed model and univariate analyses were performed for all independent variables,even those excluded from the multivariable model due to *** used thresholds of 0.2 and 0.4 for the difference of standardized mean differences(SMDs),categorising them as small(0.4) ***:The pain construct analysis involved 211 effect estimates from 153 studies and 14 independent ***-frequency acupuncture treatment sessions produced larger effects compared to low-frequency sessions [large magnitude,the difference of adjusted SMDs 0.46,95% confidence interval(CI) 0.07 to 0.84;P=0.02].The non-pain symptoms construct analysis comprised 323 effect estimates from 231 studies and 15 independent *** acupuncture showed moderately larger effects when compared to non-penetrating acupuncture(0.30,95% CI 0.06 to 0.53;P=0.01).The function construct analysis included 495 effect estimates from 274 studies and 14 independent *** acupuncture and the flexible acupuncture regimen showed moderately larger effects,compared to non-penetrating acupuncture and fixed regimen,respectively(0.40,95% CI 0

Mechanism of Mingjing Granules in Treating Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration based on Network Pharmacology and Experimental Verification

Efficacy of electroacupuncture on myocardial protection and postoperative rehabilitation in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass:a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy of electroacupuncture(EA)intervention on myocardial protection and postoperative rehabilitation in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).METHODS:Eight databases,including Pub Med,Embase,the Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Chinese Bio Medical Literature Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Data,China Science and Technology Journal Database,and two clinical trial registries,were *** randomized controlled trials(RCTs)related to EA intervention in cardiac surgery with CPB were *** on the inclusion and exclusion criteria,two researchers independently screened articles and extracted *** the quality evaluation,RevMan 5.3 software was used for ***:Fourteen RCTs involving 836 patients were *** with the control treatment,EA significantly increased the incidence of cardiac automatic rebeat after aortic unclamping[relative risk(RR)=1.15,95%confidence interval(CI)(1.01,1.31),P<0.05;moderate].Twenty-four hours after aortic unclamping,EA significantly increased the superoxide dismutase[standardized mean difference(SMD)=0.96,95%CI(0.32,1.61),P<0.05;low],and interleukin(IL)-2[SMD=1.33,95%CI(0.19,2.47),P<0.05;very low]expression levels and decreased the malondialdehyde[SMD=-1.62,95%CI(-2.15,-1.09),P<0.05;moderate],tumour necrosis factor-α[SMD=-1.28,95%CI(-2.37,-0.19),P<0.05;moderate],and cardiac troponin I[SMD=-1.09,95%CI(-1.85,-0.32),P<0.05;low]expression levels as well as the inotrope scores[SMD=-0.77,95%CI(-1.22,-0.31),P<0.05;high].There was no difference in IL-6 and IL-10 expression *** amount of intraoperative sedative[SMD=-0.31,95%CI(-0.54,-0.09),P<0.05;moderate]and opioid analgesic[SMD=-0.96,95%CI(-1.53,-0.38),P<0.05;low]medication was significantly lower in the EA group than in the control ***,the postoperative tracheal intubation time[SMD=-0.92,95%CI(-1.40,-0.45),P<0.05;low]and intensive care unit stay[SMD=-1.

Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D,genetic susceptibility,and the risk of incident type 2 diabetes:A prospective cohort in East China

Background:The serum vitamin D level varies widely by population,and studies have linked vitamin D levels with the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).However,the relationship is inconsistent and the impact of vitamin D on T2DM among East Chinese adults is *** study aimed to investigate the association between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25[OH]D)levels and the risk of T2DM and evaluated whether the association is modified by genetic ***:In the Survey on Prevalence in East China for Metabolic Diseases and Risk Factors(SPECT-China)cohort,1862 participants free of T2DM at baseline were included.A weighted genetic risk score was calculated with 28 variants associated with *** logistic models were used to examine the association of serum 25(OH)D and genetic risk with ***:After a 5-year follow-up,132 cases of T2DM were *** observed no significant association between quartiles of serum 25(OH)D and T2DM risk after multivariable adjustment(χ^(2)=0.571,P_(for trend)=0.426).Compared to those in the lowest quartile of 25(OH)D,the odds ratios(ORs)(95%confidence interval[CI])for participants with increased quartiles were 1.29(0.74-2.25),1.35(0.77-2.36),and 1.27(0.72-2.24),*** observed a positive association of glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)with 25(OH)D at baseline(β=1.752,P=0.001)and after follow-up(β=1.385,P=0.003),and a negative association of ln conversion homeostasis model assessment(HOMA)-βwith 25(OH)D at baseline(β=-0.982,P=0.021).There was no significant interaction between 25(OH)D and diabetes genetic predisposition on the risk of T2DM(χ^(2)=2.710,P_(for interaction)=0.100).The lowest OR(95%CI)of T2DM was among participants with low genetic risk and the highest quartile of 25(OH)D(0.17[0.05-0.62]).Conclusion:Serum 25(OH)D may be irrelevant to the risk of incident T2DM among East Chinese adults regardless of genetic predisposition.

OBJECTIVE:To test the hypothesis that moxibustion may inhibit rheumatoid arthritis(RA)synovial inflammation by regulating the expression of macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF)/glucocorticoids(GCs).METHODS:Fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups(n=10 each):blank Control(CON)group,RA Model(RA)group,Moxibustion(MOX)group,MIF inhibitor(S,R)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-5-isoxazole acetic acid methyl ester(ISO-1)group,and Moxibustion+MIF inhibitor ISO-1(MOX+ISO-1)*** in the ISO-1 group and ISO-1+MOX group were intraperitoneally injected with the inhibitor *** rats in the RA group,ISO-1 group,MOX group,and ISO-1+MOX group were injected with Freund's complete adjuvant(FCA)in the right hind footpad to establish an experimental RA rat *** the MOX group and MOX+ISO-1 group,rats were treated with *** thickness of the footpads of the rats in each group was measured at three-time points before,after modeling and after moxibustion *** contents of serum MIF,corticosterone(CORT),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay;and the contents of synovial MIF were detected by Western ***-eosin(HE)staining method was used to observe the pathological changes of synovial tissue under a section light microscope,and pathological scoring was performed according to the grading standard of the degree of synovial tissue ***:Moxibustion was found to reduce the level of MIF and alleviate inflammation in RA rats in this *** addition,after inhibiting the expression of MIF,the level of CORT increased,and the level of TNF-α *** RA rats with inhibited MIF by moxibustion,the level of CORT was almost unchanged,but the level of TNF-α further *** correlation analysis data suggested that MIF was positively related to the expression of TNF-α and negatively correlated with the expression of ***:Reducing MIF to
