Design and test of the plant-correcting reel for harvesting lodging garlic plants

Plant-based antimicrobial agents are readily available, cost-effective, and exhibit low toxicity, making them promising alternatives in combatting microbial infections. Among these plants, garlic (Allium sativum) stands out for its traditional medicinal use in effectively combating various microorganisms. In the poultry industry, preventing avian virus and bacterial infections is paramount for chicken husbandry. However, using conventional drugs poses potential risks to human health. garlic, a widely used Asian plant in traditional medicine for various pathologies, has shown potential as an herbal prophylactic remedy against viral and bacterial infections. Recently, researchers explored garlic and its derivatives as a scientific strategy in veterinary practices for diverse purposes, such as improving poultry production characteristics and acting as antibiotic growth promoters. This comprehensive review delves into garlic and its derivatives as preventive and corrective treatments for viral diseases in laying hens and broilers. The paper highlights their potential effectiveness and safety as a natural means to enhance poultry health and welfare while mitigating the risks associated with conventional drug usage in the food industry.

Insecticidal activities of garlic substances against adults of grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella （Lepidoptera： Gelechiidae）

The angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella （Olivier）, is one of the most serious stored grain pests around the world. In attempts to reduce the losses caused by the moth and to suppress its populations, the fumigant activities, behavioral influence and ovipositional inhibition of garlic （Allium sativum） essential oil and its two major components, diallyl disulfide and diallyl trisulfide, were investigated against the adult grain moth. Their effects on reduction in survival of first instar larvae to adult emergence were also evaluated. Results showed that these three materials （garlic essential oil, diallyl disulfide and diallyl trisulfide） had significant fumigant activity with 50% lethal concentration values at 1.33, 0.99, and 1.02/zL/L air space, respectively; meanwhile, the three materials possessed high behavioral deterrent activities against adults in the Y-tube olfactometer. When applied to rice grains, these materials reduced adult longevity and inhibited oviposition, with ovipositional inhibition above 70% at a concentration of 1.5uL/25 g in either no-choice or two-choice tests. In short, the study showed that both diallyl disulfide and diallyl trisulfide, like garlic essential oil, acted as fitrnigants, produced behavioral deter- rence and inhibited oviposition against angoumois grain moth. Our work here indicates that diallyl disulfide and diallyl trisulfide may serve as potential alternatives for grain protectants since both of them can be prepared easily from readily available chemicals.

garlic(Allium sativum) is a widely known medicinal plant, potential of which remains to be fully evaluated. Its wide-range beneficial effects appear to be relevant for treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis and related diseases. It is generally believed that garlic-based preparations are able to improve lipid profile in humans, inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis, suppress low density lipoprotein oxidation, modulate blood pressure, suppress platelet aggregation, lower plasma fibrinogen level and increase fibrinolytic activity, thus providing clinically relevant cardioprotective and anti-atherosclerotic effects. It is important to assess the level of evidence available for different protective effects of garlic and to understand the underlying mechanisms. This information will allow adequate integration of garlic-based preparations to clinical practice. In this review, we discuss the mechanisms of anti-atherosclerotic effects of garlic preparations, focusing on antihyperlipidemic, hypotensive, anti-platelet and direct anti-atherosclerotic activities of the medicinal plant. We also provide an overview of available meta-analyses and a number of clinical trials that assess the beneficial effects of garlic.

Foliar spraying of aqueous garlic bulb extract stimulates growth and antioxidant enzyme activity in eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)

Recently,botanical extracts are gaining popularity as biostimulants in vegetable *** present study,the effect of aqueous garlic bulb extract(AGE)was studied on the growth and physiology of eggplant grown in plastic *** was foliage sprayed with various frequencies,i.e.,0,S1(once),S2(twice)and S3(three times)at two independent growth stages,pre-and *** results showed that the treated plants exhibited stimulatory responses in growth and physiology in accord with the repetition of AGE spray and growth stages of the plants,respectively.A single foliage sprayed pre-transplant resulted in improved growth,i.e.,plant morphology and biomass,and enhanced antioxidants enzymes(superoxide dismutase,SOD;peroxidase,POD),photosynthesis and chlorophyll abundance observed at vegetative,first flowering and fruit setting stages,***,thrice application inhibited the plant growth and development and resulted in lipid peroxidation,i.e.,increased malondialdehyde(MDA)*** addition,the post-transplant application also showed growth stimulation and interestingly,an overall positive influence was observed with respect to the AGE application and no significant increase in the MDA content indicated the post-transplant seedlings responded *** findings demonstrate that AGE can act as a biostimulant to enhance the eggplant growth in plastic tunnel production.

Anti-cancer activities of S-allylmercaptocysteine from aged garlic

While most types of malignancies remain recalcitrant to treatment, application of natural products or their analogs in daily life has offered some hopes as an effective prophylaxis against cancer onset and progression in the past decades. Emerging evidence supports a link between garlic consumption and decreased cancer incidence. Notably, aged garlic extract(AGE) exhibits stronger anti-cancer activities than that of fresh garlic, by virtue of enrichment of several AGE-specific organosulfur compounds, including S-allylmercaptocysteine(SAMC). In this review, we summarize the up-to-date mechanistic pathways associated with the anti-proliferative, anti-metastatic and pro-apoptotic effects of SAMC in various cancer models. Based upon the proven safety and improved understanding on its anti-neoplastic properties, SAMC has gained recognition as a promising daily food supplement for cancer prevention or management.

Spatial Quantitative Analysis of garlic Price Data Based on ArcGIS Technology

In order to solve the hidden regional relationship among garlic prices,this paper carries out spatial quantitative analysis of garlic price data based on ArcGIS *** specific analysis process is to collect prices of garlic market from 2015 to 2017 in different regions of Shandong Province,using the Moran's Index to obtain monthly Moran indicators are positive,so as to analyze the overall positive relationship between garlic prices;then using the geostatistical analysis tool in ArcGIS to draw a spatial distribution Grid diagram,it was found that the price of garlic has a significant geographical agglomeration phenomenon and showed a multi-center distribution *** results showed that the agglomeration centers are Jining,Dongying,Qingdao,and *** the end of the article,according to the research results,constructive suggestions were made for the regulation of garlic *** Moran’s Index and geostatistical analysis tools to analyze the data of garlic price,which made up for the lack of position correlation in the traditional analysis methods and more intuitively and effectively reflected the trend of garlic price from low to high from west to east in Shandong Province and showed a pattern of circular distribution.

Research on Hybrid Model of garlic Short-term Price Forecasting based on Big Data

garlic prices fluctuate dramatically in recent years and it is very difficult to predict garlic *** autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model is currently the most important method for predicting garlic ***,the ARIMA model can only predict the linear part of the garlic prices,and cannot predict its nonlinear ***,it is urgent to adopt a method to analyze the nonlinear characteristics of garlic *** comparing the advantages and disadvantages of several major prediction models which used to forecast nonlinear time series,using support vector machine(SVM)model to predict the nonlinear part of garlic prices and establish ARIMA-SVM hybrid forecast model to predict garlic *** monthly average price data of garlic in 2010-2017 was used to test the effect of ARIMA model,SVM model and ARIMA-SVM *** experimental results show that:(1)garlic price is affected by many factors but the most is the supply and demand relationship;(2)The SVM model has a good effect in dealing with the nonlinear relationship of garlic prices;(3)The ARIMA-SVM hybrid model is better than the single ARIMA model and SVM model on the accuracy of garlic price prediction,it can be used as an effective method to predict the short-term price of garlic.
