The mechanical behavior of polymer networks is intrinsically correlated with the local chain topology and chain *** this study,we delve into this relationship through the lens of coarse-grained molecular dynamics(CG-MD)*** aim is to illuminate the intricate interplay between local topology and stress distribution within polymer monomers,cross-linkers,and various components with distinct cross-link connections,thereby elucidating their collective impact on the mechanical properties of polymer *** mainly focus on how specific local structures contribute to the overall mechanical response of the *** particular,we employ local stress analysis to unravel the mechanics of these *** findings reveal the diverse responses of individual components,such as junctions,strands,cross-linkers between junctions,and dangling chain ends,when subjected to ***,we observe that these components exhibit varying degrees of deformation tolerance,underscoring the significance of their roles in determining the mechanical characteristics of the *** investigations highlight junctions as primary contributors to stress accumulation,and particles with higher local stress showing a stronger correlation between stress and Voronoi ***,our results indicate that both strands and cross-linkers between junctions exhibit heightened stress levels as strand lengths *** study enhances our understanding of the multifaceted factors governing the mechanical attributes of cross-linked polymer systems at the microstructural level.

AIM: To evaluate the effectiveness of peripheral defocus spectacle lenses(PDLs) in myopia control. METHODS: Literature retrieval on Pub Med, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science databases, and the search time limit was from the establishment of each database to December 29, 2021 were conducted. Change of spherical equivalent refraction(SER) and axial change(AL) were extracted from the literatures that met the inclusion criteria, and Rev Man5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis. RESULTS: A total of 4 randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were included in this Meta-analysis, involving 770 myopic children. The results showed that PDLs could delay the progression of myopia in children with myopia compared with single vision spectacle lenses(SVLs;WMD=0.21 D, 95%CI: 0.01, 0.41, P=0.04). However, there was no significant difference in controlling the growth of axial length(AL) in myopic children(WMD=-0.10 mm, 95%CI:-0.21, 0.01, P=0.07). The results of the effectiveness of myopia control between the two spectacle lenses showed that PDLs were more effective in controlling the progression of myopia(OR=5.73, 95%CI: 2.58, 12.70, Psignificant. CONCLUsiON: PDLs can control the progression of myopia compared with SVLs, but cannot delay the growth of AL, and the effectiveness of PDLs in myopia control better than SVLs.

A network time-delay compensation method based on time-delay prediction and implicit proportional-integral-based generalized predictive controller(PIGPC) is proposed. The least squares support vector machine(LSSVM) is used to predict the current time-delay, the parameters of the least squares support vector machine are optimized by particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm,and the predicted time-delay is used instead of the actual time-delay as the parameters of the network time-delay compensation controller. In order to improve the compensation effect of implicit generalized predictive controller(GPC), this paper puts forward an implicit generalized predictive control algorithm with proportional-integral-based(PI) structure and designs the controller based on implicit PIGPC. Through the simulation results, the effectiveness of this design in the paper is verified.

In recent times,nanoparticles(NPs)have received intense attention not only due to their potential applications as a candidate for drug delivery,but also because of their undesirable effects on human *** extensive experimental studies have been carried out in literature in order to understand the interaction between NPs and a plasma membrane,much less is known about the molecular details of the interaction mechanisms and *** complimentary tools,coarse grained molecular dynamics(CGMD)and dissipative particle dynamics(DPD)simulations have been extensively used on the interaction mechanism and evolution *** the present review we summarize computer simulation studies on the NP-membrane interaction,which developed over the last few years,and particularly evaluate the results from the DPD *** studies undoubtedly deepen our understanding of the NP-membrane interaction mechanisms and provide a design guideline for new NPs.

The interaction between pine oil and marmatite without collectors and activators was investigated by flotation,scanning electron microscope and energy-dispersive spectrometer（SEM-EDS）,infrared（IR） spectroscopy,Zeta potential,and first-principle theory *** flotation results show that marmatite exhibits considerable floatability with the addition of pine ***-EDS results show that carbon atomic ratios on the surface are significantly high,which suggests that the flotation of marmatite is caused by the adsorption of pine *** evidence of the adsorption mechanism was given by IR,and Zeta potential examining pine oil depends on the physical adsorption on the surface *** first-principle theory calculations indicate that pine oil molecule adsorbs on Zn and Fe atom surfaces by ionic bond and covalent bond of adsorption energies of-1.23and-1.51 eV,respectively.P orbital of O atom,s orbital of Zn atom,and d orbital of Fe are the major participants.

Ti-Nb alloys have great potential in biomedical applications as bone-implant materials due to their low elastic modulus,superelasticity,high corrosion resistance,and good ***,the low yield strength and poor superelasticity of Ti-Nb alloys restrict their practical clinical ***,we report the mechanical properties and superelasticity,corrosion behavior,and biocompatibility of a Ti-26 at.%Nb-1.2 vol.%TiC(Ti-26Nb-1.2TiC)shape memory composite(SMC)prepared by vacuum arc melting and hot *** yield strength,critical stress for inducing martensitic transformation,and elongation of the Ti-26Nb-1.2TiC SMC and a Ti-26Nb alloy were 460 and 337 MPa,251 and 115 MPa,and 27.2%and 24.1%,*** recovery rate of the SMC under 4%pre-strain reached 91.4%,which was 1.2 times that of the *** tests in Hanks’solution revealed that the corrosion current density,passive current density,and corrosion rate of the SMC were lower than those of the *** the Ti-26Nb alloy and Ti-26Nb-1.2TiC SMC showed good cell viability with grade 0 cytotoxicity in relation to MG-63 osteosarcoma cells.

To improve the deficiencies of prefabricated autoclaved lightweight aerated concrete(ALC)panel such as susceptibility to cracking and low load-bearing capacity,a textile-reinforced mortar-autoclaved lightweight aerated concrete(TRM-ALC)composite panel was developed in this *** group of reference ALC panels and five groups of TRM-ALC panels were fabricated and subjected to four-point flexural *** was applied on the tensile side of the ALC panels to create *** variable parameters were the plies of textile(one or two),type of textile(basalt or carbon),and whether the matrix(without textile)was applied on the compression side of *** results showed that a bonding only 8-mm-thick TRM layer on the surface of the ALC panel could increase the cracking load by 180%−520%.The flexural capacity of the TRM-ALC panel increased as the number of textile layers *** reinforcement of the matrix on the compressive side could further enhance the stiffness and ultimate loadbearing capacity of the TRM-ALC *** panels with basalt textile failed in flexural mode,with the rupture of fabric *** with carbon textile failed in shear mode due to the ultra-high tensile strength of *** addition,analytical models related to the different failure modes were presented to estimate the ultimate load-carrying capacity of the TRM-ALC panels.

Biodegradable Zn–3Cu and Zn–3Cu–0.2Ti alloys with ultrahigh ductility and antibacterial ability for orthopedic applications

Zinc(Zn) and its alloys have been proposed as biodegradable implant materials due to their unique combination of biodegradability, biocompatibility, and biofunctionality. However, the insufficient mechanical properties of pure Zn greatly limit its clinical application. Here, we report on the microstructure, mechanical properties, friction and wear behavior, corrosion and degradation properties, hemocompatibility, and cytocompatibility of Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti alloys under three different conditions of as-cast(AC),hot-rolling(HR), and hot-rolling plus cold-rolling(HR + CR). The HR + CR Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti exhibited the best set of comprehensive properties among all the alloy samples, with yield strength of 211.0 MPa, ultimate strength of 271.1 MPa, and elongation of 72.1 %. Immersion tests of the Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti alloys in Hanks’ solution for 3 months indicated that the AC samples showed the lowest degradation rate,followed by the HR samples, and then the HR + CR samples, while the HR + CR Zn–3 Cu exhibited the highest degradation rate of 23.9 m/a. Friction and wear testing of the Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti alloys in Hanks’ solution indicated that the AC samples showed the highest wear resistance, followed by the HR samples, and then the HR + CR samples, while the AC Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti showed the highest wear *** diluted extracts of HR + CR Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti at a concentration of ≤25 % exhibited noncytotoxicity. Furthermore, both the HR + CR Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti exhibited effective antibacterial properties against S. aureus.
