In radiology,magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is an essential diagnostic tool that provides detailed images of a patient’s anatomical and physiological *** is particularly effective for detecting soft tissue ***,radiologists manually interpret these images,which can be labor-intensive and time-consuming due to the vast amount of *** address this challenge,machine learning,and deep learning approaches can be utilized to improve the accuracy and efficiency of anomaly detection in MRI *** manuscript presents the use of the Deep AlexNet50 model for MRI classification with discriminative learning *** are three stages for learning;in the first stage,the whole dataset is used to learn the *** the second stage,some layers of AlexNet50 are frozen with an augmented dataset,and in the third stage,AlexNet50 with an augmented dataset with the augmented *** method used three publicly available MRI classification datasets:Harvard whole brain atlas(HWBA-dataset),the school of biomedical Engineering of Southern Medical University(SMU-dataset),and The National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospitals brain MRI dataset(NINS-dataset)for *** hyperparameter optimizers like Adam,stochastic gradient descent(SGD),Root mean square propagation(RMS prop),Adamax,and AdamW have been used to compare the performance of the learning ***-dataset registers maximum classification *** evaluated the performance of the proposed classification model using several quantitative metrics,achieving an average accuracy of 98%.

One intrinsic yet critical issue that troubles the field of fluorescence microscopy ever since its introduction is the unmatched resolution in the lateral and axial directions(i.e.,resolution anisotropy),which severely deteriorates the quality,reconstruction,and analysis of 3D volume *** leveraging the natural anisotropy,we present a deep self-learning method termed Self-Net that significantly improves the resolution of axial images by using the lateral images from the same raw dataset as rational *** incorporating unsupervised learning for realistic anisotropic degradation and supervised learning for high-fidelity isotropic recovery,our method can effectively suppress the hallucination with substantially enhanced image quality compared to previously reported *** the experiments,we show that Self-Net can reconstruct high-fidelity isotropic 3D images from organelle to tissue levels via raw images from various microscopy platforms,e.g.,wide-field,laser-scanning,or super-resolution *** the first time,Self-Net enables isotropic whole-brain imaging at a voxel resolution of 0.2×0.2×0.2μm^(3),which addresses the last-mile problem of data quality in single-neuron morphology visualization and reconstruction with minimal effort and ***,Self-Net is a promising approach to overcoming the inherent resolution anisotropy for all classes of 3D fluorescence microscopy.

Herein, new poly（ortho ester disulfide urethanes）（POEDU） and poly（ortho ester urethanes）（POEU） were successfully syn- thesized via polycondensation between active esters of 1,6-hexandiol （HD） and dual-stimuli-sensitive ortho ester disulfide diamine or pH-senstive ortho ester diamine. The corresponding POEDU and POEU nanospheres were easily fabricated using an oil-in-water emulsion technique. In vitro degradation experiments indicated that POEDU nanospheres degraded faster than POEU nanospheres in mildly acidic and reductive environments. Doxorubicin （DOX） as a model antitumor drug was suc- cessfully incorporated into these nanospheres to give DOX-loaded nanoparticles （POEDU-DOX and POEU-DOX）. In vitro drug release studies showed that release of DOX from dual-stimuli-sensitive POEDU-DOX was accelerated compared with release from the pH-sensitive POEU-DOX under DL-dithiothreitol （DTT） and mildly acidic conditions. In addition, in vitro uptake and cytotoxicity assays revealed that POEDU-DOX exhibited more efficient antitnmor effect than POEU-DOX did against both two- dimensional （2D） cells and three-dimensional （3D） multicellular tumor spheroids （MCTS）. Finally, in a mice H22 tumor model, POEDU-DOX exhibited preferable antitumor capability. In conclusion, the pH and redox dual-stimuli-sensitive POEDU na- nospheres can be superior drug carriers for cancer treatment.

With the continuing development and improvement of genome-wide techniques, a great number of candidate genes are discovered. How to identify the most likely disease genes among a large number of candidates becomes a fundamental challenge in human health. A common view is that genes related to a specific or similar disease tend to reside in the same neighbourhood of biomolecular networks. Recently, based on such observations,many methods have been developed to tackle this challenge. In this review, we firstly introduce the concept of disease genes, their properties, and available data for identifying them. Then we review the recent computational approaches for prioritizing candidate disease genes based on Protein-Protein Interaction（PPI） networks and investigate their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, some pieces of existing software and network resources are summarized. Finally, we discuss key issues in prioritizing candidate disease genes and point out some future research directions.

Cholesterol is an essential component of mammalian cell membranes where it regulates membrane permeability,fluidity,fusion and cell signaling pathways (Chang et al.,2006).Cholesterol must be sorted precisely and transported efficiently for the proper functioning of membranes,as each cellular organelle has its distinct cholesterol *** need to understand the molecular mechanisms governing cellular cholesterol transport and distribution is further highlighted by the link between abnormal subcellular distribution of cholesterol and a range of human diseases such as cancer (Zhuang et al.,2005),coronary heart disease (Zhang et al.,2008),steatohepatitis (Marí et al.,2006),neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease and Niemann Pick C (NP-C) disease (Vance et al.,2005),and early-onset obesity and insulin resistance (Liu et al.,2017).

Autism spectrum disorder(ASD) is gathering concerns in socially developed countries. ASD is a neuropsychiatric disorder of genetic origin with high prevalence of 1%–2%. The patients with ASD characteristically show impaired social skills. Today, many genetic studies identify numerous susceptible genes and genetic loci associated with ASD. Although some genetic factors can lead to abnormal brain function linked to ASD phenotypes, the pathogenic mechanism of ASD is still unclear. Here, we discuss a new mouse model for ASD as an advanced tool to understand the mechanism of ASD.

The aim of this study was to develop and validate an oligonucleotide suspension array for rapid identification of 15 bacterial species responsible for bacteremia, particularly prevalent in Chinese hospitals. The multiplexed array, based on the QIAGEN LiquiChip Workstation, included 15 oligonucleotide probes which were covalently bound to different bead sets. PCR amplicons of a variable region of the bacterial 23S rRNA genes were hybridized to the bead-bound probes. Thirty-eight strains belonging to 15 species were correctly identified on the basis of their corresponding species-specific hybridization profiles. The results show that the suspension array, in a single assay, can differentiate isolates over a wide range of strains and species, and suggest the potential utility of suspension array system to clinical laboratory diagnosis.

Preparation of zeolite NaA for CO_2 capture from nickel laterite residue

Zeolite NaA was successfully prepared from nickel laterite residue for the first time via a fusion-hydrothermal procedure. The structure and morphology of the as-synthesized zeolite NaA were characterized with a range of experimental techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electronic microscopy, and infrared spectroscopy. It was revealed that the structures of the produced zeolites were dependent on the molar ratios of the reactants and hydrothermal reaction conditions, so the synthesis conditions were optimized to obtain pure zeolite NaA. Adsorption of nitrogen and carbon dioxide on the prepared zeolite NaA was also measured and analyzed. The results showed that zeolite NaA could be prepared with reasonable purity, it had physicochemical properties comparable with zeolite NaA made from other methods, and it had excellent gas adsorption properties, thus demonstrating that zeolite NaA could be prepared from nickel laterite residue.
