Background Treatment of post-pasung(physical restraint)patients with mental disorders has become a new problem in Indonesia in its effort to free the country from the physical restraint *** emerge when the patient returns to the family and society at large,and families that refuse to allow the patient to come back home risk the possibility that the patient may eventually become a psychotic *** To determine the appearance of families taking care of patients with mental disorders *** This study was qualitative research using a case study *** number of participants from six families was selected by purposive *** data was done by in-depth interview,and analysed thematically using Colaizzi *** The results showed that families coping when taking care of patients with mental disorders post-pasung comprise seven *** seven themes are formed by four categories,19 sub-themes and 32 *** The appearance of coping was the overall description of coping in the form of strategic process stages,the support of coping and meaning for what the families feel when they are taking care of a patient with a mental disorder *** appearance of coping showed how the family chooses the mechanisms of coping to deal with stress and *** The coping mechanisms that families use when taking care of a patient with a mental disorder post-pasung were formed through stages of a strategic *** need coping strengthening interventions to provide optimal care for patients with mental disorders post-pasung.

Objective:To determine the proportion of HBV surface antigen(anti-HBs)antibody positive children under five years of age born to HBs Ag-negative mothers and to analyze the possible related factors following implementation of a hepatitis B vaccination program for infants in Indonesia 22 years ***:Blood samples were taken from children under five years of age born to HBsAg-negative mothers who have completed primary vaccination ***-HBs antibodies were determined by using rapid *** of age,gender,nutritional status,vaccination timing or vaccination compliance,and booster vaccination were collected from vaccination ***:Ninety children were enrolled,consisting of 47 females and 43 males with a mean age of 2.3 *** two(24.4%)children received booster vaccine between 18 and 24 months and 55(61.1%)were anti-HBs *** factors of age,gender,nutritional status,compliance to vaccination and booster vaccine,only administration of booster vaccine was significantly associated with anti-HBs status(OR 5.45,95%CI 1.45,20.52).Children who received booster vaccine at age of 18-24 months were 5.45 times more likely to be anti-HBs positive than that of children who did not receive booster ***:Booster vaccine rate is low among children under 5 years of age but is associated with anti-HBs *** vaccination may be required to improve anti-HBs seropositivity.

Objectives:This study aimed to develop an empowerment model for burnout syndrome and quality of nursing work life(QNWL).Methods:This study adopted a mixed-method cross-sectional *** variables included structural empowerment,psychological empowerment,burnout syndrome and *** population consisted of nurses who have civil servant status in one of the regional hospitals in *** participants were recruited using multi-stage sampling measures with 134 *** were collected using questionnaires,which were then analysed using partial least squares.A focus group discussion was conducted with nurses,chief nurses and the hospital management to identify strategic issues and compile ***:Structural empowerment influenced psychological empowerment(path coefficient=0.440;t=6.222)and QNWL(path coefficient=0.345;t=4.789).Psychological empowerment influenced burnout syndrome(path coefficient=-0.371;t=4.303),and burnout syndrome influenced QNWL(path coefficient=-0.320;t=5.102).Structural empowerment increased QNWL by 39.7%.Conclusion:The development of a structural empowerment model by using the indicators of resources,support and information directly influenced the psychological empowerment of the sample of *** an indicator of meaning,psychological empowerment decreased burnout *** turn,burnout syndrome,as the indicator of personal achievement,could affect the *** empowerment directly influenced the QNWL,particularly within the workplace *** studies must be conducted to analyse the effects of empowerment,leadership styles and customer satisfaction.

Effect of hematopoietic stem cell on tumor necrosis factor-αexpression, spiral artery remodeling and placental apoptosis in lead-exposed pregnant mice

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) on TNF-αexpression, spiral artery remodeling, and placental ***: The study used pregnant mice divided to five groups of treatment: Group 1, without treatment;Group 2, 1/12 LD50 of lead and Aquadest;Group 3, 1/16 LD50 of lead and Aquadest, Group 4, 1/12 LD50 of lead and 1×107 HSC;and group 5, 1/16 LD50 of lead and 1×107 HSC. Histopathology examination was performed to identify spiral artery remodeling. Immunohistochemistry analysis was conducted to characterize TNF-α expression and the apoptosis index. The data from all five groups were compared using the ANOVA ***:TNF-α expression differed significantly among the groups that were not exposed to lead, exposed to lead and exposed to lead after HSC treatment (P0.05).Conclusions:In lead-exposed pregnant mice, the administration of hematopoietic stem cell may decrease TNF-α expression, spiral artery remodeling, and placental apoptosis index but in the group of 1/16 LD50 of lead and HSC treatment, apoptosis index has no differences with those of control group.

The effect of curcumin as an antioxidant on cochlea fibroblasts in ototoxic rat models

Aminoglycosides(e.g. Gentamicin) are ototoxic drugs and widely prescribed due to their effective antimicrobial actions and affordable prices. This study focused on determining protective effect of curcumin against the damage caused by aminoglycosides. We aimed to demonstrate the potential of curcumin as an antioxidant to increase the expressions of superoxide dismutase(SOD) in fibroblasts of cochlea lateral wall in ototoxic rat models. The experiment was conducted with randomized post test-only control group design by using 32 male Rattusnorvegicus adults which received a combination of gentamicin and curcumin with different durations and doses. Then, the rats underwent terminations and immunohistochemical assay to determine the expression of SOD. The rats receiving gentamicin injection showed significantly decreased expression of SOD(P<0.05), and the administration of curcumin before and after the gentamicin injection showed significantly increased expression of SOD(P<0.05). Collectively, we showed that curcumin was an antioxidant against oxidative stress due to ototoxicity evidenced by the expression of SOD.

A portable and low-cost design of parallel-plate capacitor sensor is proposed and investigated for detection of heavy and alkali metal ions concentration in liquid *** application of a thin and long-sided parallel PCB plate allows one to measure the dielectric response of each sample through capacitive sensing *** measurements were based on the peak output voltage corresponding to the capacitance of the output measured by an oscilloscope with metal ions concentration of the solution varying from 0 to 10 ppm and input frequency ranging from 1 kHz to 10 *** ICF of Li,Na and K in chloride solution was 2.4,2.1 and 1.9 MHz,*** ICF of Na and K in hydroxide solution was 1.5 MHz and 1.1 MHz,respectively,while the ICF of Pb(NO_(3))_(2)was 490 *** detected ICF was applied to further construct the portable sensor system,which is simple in design,low-cost in fabrication and easy to *** finding of ICF of each chemical element is necessary to solve the selectivity challenge of the capacitance-based sensor,which will be appropriate for chemical,environmental and engineering applications.

Objective: To explore the potential of local agar of genus Gracilaria, Eucheuma,Gelidium and local brands as an alternative for imported agarose for DNA electrophoresis, and to examine their ability related to separation and migration of DNA fragments in DNA ***: Their performance at various concentrations were compared via an experimental study with a specific brand of imported commercial agarose used in molecular biology research. The measured variables were separation and migration during electrophoresis of a DNA ***: The local agar genus Gracilaria gigas, Gelidium, brand “B” and brand “S”could separate DNA fragments at a concentration between 1% and 2%, with an optimum concentration of 2% w/v, as good as a specific brand of imported commercial ***: Their performance were very close to that of commercial agarose and can still be improved by further agar purification as well as by p H and sulfur control.

Objective:To examine the potential risk of hepatitis B virus(HBV)spread in Indonesia by migrant workers,based on the molecular characteristics of HBV ***:Sera collected from migrant workers traveling to their destination countries(pre-migrant workers)and those returning to Indonesia(post-migrant workers)were screened for HBsAg by ELISA,followed by HBV DNA detection by PCR and(sub)genotype/subtype determination according to surface region and whole genome ***:Of 87 pre-migrant workers,15(17.24%)were HBsAgpositive,whereas 15(12.10%)of 124 post-migrant workers were HBs Ag *** genotype analysis based on the S region showed that HBV-B3/adw2 was predominant(96.15%,25/26)whereas 3.85%(1/26)of isolates were HBV-C3/adrq+.Whole genome sequencing of selected strains and phylogenetic tree analysis identified subgenotype B7 in three samples previously categorized as subgenotype B3 based on S region analysis,supporting a recent argument that subgenotypes B5/B7/B8/B9 could be considered as a quasi-subgenotype of ***:A high prevalence of HBsAg carriers was detected among migrant workers from Lombok Island,with no significant difference in prevalence between before and after returning to *** strains were classified into genotypes common in Indonesia,and the results suggested that migrant workers are not a risk factor for HBV transmission into Indonesia.
