Complex segregation occurs in a binary particle system with differing particle sizes and densities,particularly when the larger particles are heavier(S–D system,i.e.,size minus density system).Predicting the segregation pattern driven by multiple mechanisms simultaneously is often *** study explores the segregation mechanisms in a quasi-2D circular drum containing a S–D system,realizing a transition between the S-core and Core-and-band patterns by adjusting the drum rotation *** the transition of the segregation pattern,only the S-core pattern chiefly driven by the percolation mechanism is initially *** the rotation speed increases,the buoyancy mechanism and particle diffusion gradually strengthen,jointly driving the formation of the Core-and-band pattern.A dimensionless strength ratio,λ=H/h,where H and h respectively represent the diffusion and buoyancy strengths at length scales,is introduced to elucidate this *** Core-and-band pattern emerges whenλreached 1.4.

This paper takes Chinese“Feng Shui”as a starting point to study German missionary Ernest Eitel’s writings on Feng Shui and to explore the Chinese images constructed by him in his *** study begins by analyzing the structure of Eitel’s work Feng Shui,or,the Rudiments of Natural Science in China,and the Chinese images that he constructed in his *** study argues that,due to his multiple identities as a missionary,a believer in colonialism,an educator,and a researcher of culture,as well as the influence of what he saw and heard in China,Eitel,despite his exhaustive examination of Chinese Feng Shui culture,ultimately,due to his own biases brought about by his own experiences and cultural differences,produced a paradoxical discourse on Feng Shui:he understood it as a Chinese natural science system,but an unsystematic *** a result,Eitel also built a contradictory image of the Chinese:they hold a belief in the“animism”and respect for ancestral observations of nature,which ultimately translates into a superstitious belief in nature and an ignorance of true science.

In the classical microbial isolation technique,the isolation process inevitably destroys all microbial interactions and thus makes it difficult to culture the many microorganisms that rely on these interactions for *** this study,we designed a simple coculture technique named the“sandwich agar plate method,”which maintains microbial interactions throughout the isolation and pure culture *** total yield of uncultured species in sandwich agar plates based on eight helper strains was almost 10-fold that of the control *** uncultured species displayed commensal *** study found that heme was the growth-promoting factor of some marine commensal *** genomic analysis revealed that heme auxotrophies were common in various biotopes and prevalent in many uncultured microbial ***,our study supported that the survival strategies of heme auxotrophy in different habitats varied *** findings highlight that cocultivation based on the“sandwich agar plate method”could be developed and used to isolate more uncultured bacteria.

Business model innovation faces multiple tests of *** extant research in this area has been conducted from institutional and strategic perspectives while paying insufficient attention to the perspective of *** on the institutionalization of China's online car-hailing industry from 2012 to 2018,this paper analyzes the legitimacy judgment of the stakeholders from the perspective of evaluator categorization and explores the legitimation mechanism of business model *** finds that evaluators judge the legitimacy of business models based on category ***,to achieve the bridging,spillover,and accumulation effects of legitimacy,the legitimation strategy of online car-hailing platforms should dynamically adapt to different evaluators,judgment models,and categorization ***,as quantitative changes lead to qualitative changes,the legitimation of innovative business models is achieved in this *** this process,stakeholders categorize and evaluate online car-hailing based on prototypes and value goals,and establish a two-way interactive mechanism,which is from behavior guided by cognition to cognition given feedback by *** paper combines the legitimacy judgment with category theory to explain how individual cognition drives the emergence of new categories and identifies a series of legitimacy strategies based on categorization,thus providing theoretical support and practical inspiration for exploring the legitimation of business model innovation.

S-boxes play a central role in the design of symmetric cipher *** stream cipher appli-cations,an s-box should satisfy several criteria such as high nonlinearity,balanceness,correlation immunity,and so *** this paper,by using disjoint linear codes,a class of s-boxes possessing high nonlinearity and 1st-order correlation immunity is *** is shown that the constructed correlation immune S-boxes can possess currently best known nonlinearity,which is confirmed by the example 1st-order correlation immune(12,3)s-box with nonlinearity *** addition,two other frameworks concerning the criteria of balanced and resiliency are obtained respectively.

Gravitational waves(GWs) from compact binary coalescences encode the absolute luminosity distances of GW sources. Once the redshifts of GW sources are known, one can use the distance-redshift relation to constrain cosmological parameters. One way to obtain the redshifts is to localize GW sources by GW observations and then use galaxy catalogs to determine redshifts from a statistical analysis of redshift information of the potential host galaxies, commonly referred to as the dark siren method. The third-generation(3G) GW detectors are planned to work in the 2030s and will observe numerous compact binary *** these GW events as dark sirens requires high-quality galaxy catalogs from future sky survey projects. The China Space Station Telescope(CSST) will be launched in 2024 and will observe billions of galaxies within a 17500 deg^(2) survey area with redshift up to z ~ 4, providing photometric and spectroscopic galaxy catalogs. In this work, we simulate the CSST galaxy catalogs and the 5-year GW data from the 3G GW detectors and combine them to infer the Hubble constant(H_(0)). Our results show that the measurement precision of H0could reach the sub-percent level, meeting the standard of precision cosmology. We conclude that the synergy between CSST and the 3G GW detectors is of great significance in measuring the Hubble constant.

大脑动静脉畸形(AVMs)的血管内栓塞通常需要注射液态栓塞剂(LEAs)以减少畸形处的血流.在临床实践中,需要事先仔细规划注射LEAs的供血动脉以及LEAs的剂量.计算流体动力学可以模拟LEAs在畸形团内的注射过程,并在术前评估不同操作的治疗效果.应用多孔介质模型避免了AVMs的几何建模困难,并重现了血管瘤内复杂的血管网络结构.采用多相流模拟了LEAs与血液之间的相互作用.LEAs的黏度由其溶质乙烯-乙醇共聚物(EVOH)的浓度确定.通过求解物质输运方程计算了溶剂二甲基亚矾(DMSO)的扩散过程.通过构建EVOH浓度与黏度之间的关系,模拟了LEAs的凝固过程.LEAs的注射和凝固的数值模拟方法在两个特定患者的AVMs上进行了测试。计算预测了LEAs在畸形团内的流动方向。通过三维染可以很好地可视化注射的LEAs的形态.进行了定量分析,包括供血动脉和引流静脉的流量变化.利用计算流体动力学(CFD)方法可以模拟LEAs栓塞AVMs的过程,以展示不同栓塞手术规划的治疗效果,并确定最佳治疗方案.
