Our trial was conducted to study the effects of formic acid(FA) and potassium di-formate(KDF) in broiler ration on performance, carcass traits, blood biochemical, intestinal microbial load, histological picture of intestine and immune parameters of broilers. In this study 360 one-day-old broiler chicks were divided to 3 groups with 3 replicates of 40 chicks each. The trial continued for 35 days. The control group was fed only basal diet(G1). Group 2(G2) were fed basal diet supplemented with FA(5 g/kg diet), and group 3(G3) received basal diet supplemented with KDF(5 g/kg diet). The results showed that both FA and KDF significantly increased body weight gain(BWG), dressing percentage of broilers and significantly decreased feed conversion ratio(FCR)(P < 0.05). The highest percent of breast and thigh was observed in G3. The improvement in villus height was observed in G2 and G3 compared with the control one, and the highest was in G3. The results evidence that the using of FA or KDF in broiler feeds have significant effects on performance, immune parameters, and gut health without having any significant effects on blood biochemical. However, KDF is more effective than FA as little amount of FA reaches the small intestine due to metabolism and absorption, whereas KDF permits a proportion of FA to pass through the fore-gut intact and enter the small intestinal tract. In addition, FA has a strong odor and corrosiveness to gastrointestinal tract which limits its use.

AIM:To characterise expression of interleukin 6(IL-6),a potent proinflammatory cytokine,in the occurrence and development of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) and investigate its effect on neuroimmunomodulation and immune homeostasis ***:In this study,rats with colitis induced by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS) were sacrificed on days 3,7,14,21 and 28 after *** the controls,the TNBS was just replaced by equivalent amount of phosphate buffered solution(PBS,0.01 mol/L).IL-6 mRNA expression in brain and colon tissues in each phase was evaluated by real-time reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction,and cellular localisation and protein level of IL-6 was determined by ***:At day 7,mRNA expression of IL-6 was significantly higher in the colon and brain of IBD rats than that of the *** protein level was also significantly higher in colon,hypothalamus and cerebral cortex of IBD rats compared with the *** there are similar temporal trends in IL-6 mRNA expression and protein levels in all positions with a persistent increase to a peak at day 7,followed by a decline and gradual return to normal ***:These results revealed that changes in IL-6 expression in brain and colon tissues occur in different phases of ***,we propose that the nerve centre regulates and controls the occurrence and development of IBD via IL-6.

To investigate the effects of etomidate,emulsified isoflurane,and their combination with dexmedetomidine on physiological parameters,electrocardiogram(ECG) results,and the quality of induction and recovery during isoflurane maintenance anaesthesia.5 mixed-breed dogs received each of four treatments:etomidate(E group);emulsified isoflurane(EI group);both dexmedetomidine and etomidate(DE group);or both dexmedetomidine and emulsified isoflurane.(DEI group).All drugs were Ⅳ injection administered for induction,followed by 1.5 MAC(minimal alveolar concentration) of isoflurane to maintain *** temperature(RT),respiratory rate(RR),heart rate(HR),mean arterial pressure(MAP),and ECG were measured at baseline,0,5,10,20,40,and 60 minutes after *** quality of induction and recovery was evaluated for all *** the anaesthetic procedures provided good conditions for induction of *** quality of induction and recovery in the E group was worse than other *** decrease of RR in the E and DE groups was stronger than that in the El and DEI *** dogs in the E group had the most significant prolongation of the Q-T interval and changes in the S-T *** and extension of the S-T segment were noted in the El *** dogs in the DE and DEI groups had fewer changes in the ECG results than those in the E and EI *** addition of dexmedetomidine caused less effect on cardiopulmonary parameters and the ECG results than either etomidate or emulsified isoflurane ***,etomidate or emulsified isoflurane in combination with dexmedetomidine may be useful clinically for the induction of anaesthesia.

In our previous study,chondrocyte apoptosis in femoral head necrosis(FHN)-affected broilers was found to be associated with the endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS) signaling *** the present study,we further explored the role of ERS-induced chondrocyte apoptosis in FHN-affected broilers and the parallel test was carried outwith articular chondrocytescultivated in *** broilers and chondrocytes were treated with methylprednisolone(MP).The main pathological changes in FHN-affected broilers included the proximal femoralhead separated from its articular cartilage and growthplate ***-treated chondrocytes demonstrated morphology changes,cell viability reduction,secretory capacity dysfunction,and *** mRNA expressions of pro-apoptotic genes controlled by ERS signaling pathway were up-regulated both in vivo and in vitro *** showed that MP induced FHN in broilers,activated apoptosis-related genes on ERS signaling

The genomic organization of egg drop syndrome virus strain AA-2 isolated in China is reported here. The genome was found to be 32 838 bp in length, approximately 2 kb shorter than those of the human subgenus C adenoviruses. Analysis of open reading frames indicated that the genes for major viral structural proteins (55 K, Penton base, pⅦ, pⅩ, pⅥ, Hexon, 100 K, pⅧ and Fiber), as well as EP, DNA polymerase and ⅣaⅡ are present in the expected locations in the genome. EDSV possesses no identifiable E3 and E4 regions and most proteins encoded by E3 and E4 regions of other adenoviruses genome were not presented in EDSV.

The effects of oseltamivir administration, effectively against influenza viruses A and B, on some selected parameters of rat kidney function were investigated to evaluate its possible nephrotoxic effects. Eighteen (18) albino male Wistar rats with body weights ranging from 150 - 190 g were divided into three groups, the first group (T1) was treated orally with 1 mg/kg BW as a therapeutic dose of oseltamivir for 7 consecutive days. The second group (T2) was treated with the same dose for six weeks, while the control group was dosed with distilled water. The results revealed a significant increase (P medullary interstitial fibrosis. In conclusion, oseltamivir administered in repeated doses to rats induced some deleterious nephrotoxic effects in a time-dependent manner.

Objective:To investigate the molecular mechanisms of the antiobese effect of raspberry ketone against high-fat diet fed ***:Fifty adult male rats were randomly assigned to receive a standard diet,a high fat diet,and the high-fat diet and 0.5%,1%or 2%raspberry *** weight,biochemical parameters and gene expression of CCAAT enhancer-binding protein(C/EBP)-δ,fatty acid synthase(FAS),acetyl Co A carboxylase(ACC),peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha(PPAR-α),hormone-sensitive lipase(HSL)and hepatic carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A(CPT1A)were ***:Body weight,blood glucose,insulin,total lipids,triacylglycerols,total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were increased in high-fat diet fed *** high fat diet-induced changes were attenuated by treatment with raspberry ***-density lipoprotein cholesterol was decreased in highfat diet fed rats but increased in rats treated with raspberry *** investigations showed induction of gene expression of C/EBP-δ,FAS,ACC,CPT1A and inhibition of gene expression of PPAR-αand HSL in high-fat diet fed rats as compared with *** ketone treament reversed these changes except ***:Raspberry ketone can prevent obesity induced by a high-fat diet in rats by induction of the expression of enzymes,controlling lipolysis and fatty acidsβoxidation as well as inhibition of gene expressions of adipogenic factors.

We use the couple dipole method to investigate the scanning near-field optical microscopy metallic tip-nanoparticle near-field interaction. Dependences of the local field intensity inside the nanoparticle on the nanosized tip shape,the tip open angle and the illumination angle are revealed. In combination with the previous results, we establish a complete model to understand the tip-nanoparticle near-field coupling mechanism.
