The global incidence of lung cancer is marked by a considerably elevated mortality ***(miRNAs)exert pivotal inﬂuence in the intricate orchestration of gene regulation,and their dysregulation can precipitate dire consequences,notably *** this context,miRNAs encapsulated in exosomes manifest a diversiﬁed impact on the landscape of lung cancer,wherein their actions may either foster angiogenesis,cell proliferation,and metastasis,or counteract these *** comprehensive review article discerns potential targets for the prospective development of therapeutic agents tailored for lung ***-suppressive miRNAs,such as miR-204,miR-192,miR-30a,miR-34a,miR-34b,miR-203,and miR-212,exhibit heightened expression and demonstrate the capacity to inhibit cellular proliferation and ***,the deleterious effects of tumor-promoting miRNAs like miR-21,miR-106a,miR-155,miR-205,and miR-210 can be attenuated through the application of their respective *** miRNAs selectively target various oncogenes,including NUAK Family Kinase 1(NUAK1),Snail Family Transcriptional Repressor 1(Snai1),Astrocyte elevated gene-1(AEG-1),Vimentin,Proliferation and apoptosis adaptor protein 15(PEA-15/PED),Hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha(HIF1),as well as tumor suppressor genes such as phosphatase and tensin homolog(PTEN),Suppressor of cytokine signaling 1(SOCS1),Tumor protein P53 binding protein 1(TP53BP1),and PH Domain and Leucine Rich Repeat Protein Phosphatase 2(PHLP22).This investigative approach proves invaluable in elucidating the speciﬁc miRNAs implicated in the deregulation of crucial genes pivotal to the pathogenesis of cancer.

Between 15% and 20% of human cancers are associated with infection by oncogenic viruses. Oncogenic viruses, including HPV, HBV, HCV and HTLV-1, target mitochondria to influence cell proliferation and survival. Oncogenic viral gene products also trigger the production of reactive oxygen species which can elicit oxidative DNA damage and potentiate oncogenic host signaling pathways. Viral oncogenes may also subvert mitochondria quality control mechanisms such as mitophagy and metabolic adaptation pathways to promote virus replication. Here, we will review recent progress on viral regulation of mitophagy and metabolic adaptation and their roles in viral oncogenesis.

Syrian hamster ernbryo(SHE) cells are irradiated by a particles emitted from Plutonium-238 in *** frequencies of donor DNA derived from passaged cells,including monocloned cells from 20th passage cells,after irradiation are parallel with their tumorigenicity of donor cells. After trans formation, expressions of H-ras and c-myc genes are in the state of activation, which might be resulted from occurrence of mutation in H-ras gene and hypomethylation of c-myc gene respectively, even though no alteration was observed on their restriction fragment length polymorphisms(RELP) patterns of both genes. On the other hand,expression of p53 gene is also found to be in the state of activation in transformant, but no heavy staining of p53 protein appeared in the transformant-derived tumor with p53 specific McAb HD 200. This might be result from the partlal deletion of p53 cDNA in transformant by reverse transcriptional polymerase chain reaction(RT PCR). These results imply that activation of H-ras and c-myc genes coupled with inactivation of p53 turnor suppressor gene play important role in a particle-induced cell trans formation.

Mammalian cells have the ability to respond to a myriad of diverse extracellular stimuli that modulate cell *** often involves ligands binding to cell surface receptors and subsequent activation of intracellular signaling *** pathways can lead to changes in gene expression patterns that in turn regulate cell growth,differentiation,migration,and *** important type of cell surface receptor is the receptor tyrosine kinase(RTK).In response to in response to ligand binding,RTKs dimerize,then trans-phosphorylate each other,leading to activation of downstream *** the signaling proteins in these pathways are important for normal cell growth control,when improperly regulated they can lead to uncontrolled growth and sometimes *** this reason,they are often considered to be good candidates for drug targets for chemotherapeutic *** can activate multiple different signaling *** of the signaling proteins in these pathways can have crosstalk with other RTK activated pathways,and some of them can be activated by multiple mechanisms in addition to activation by *** there is a wide array of different signaling proteins and pathways activated by RTKs,in this review we will discuss components of several key pathways including the MAPK pathway,the Her2/Neu pathway,mTOR,and Pak *** provide an overview of the roles for these pathways in cell signaling and discuss how different components of these pathways are being considered as targets for cancer treatment.

AIMS To determine the clinical significance of P53 protein ex-pression in colorectal *** The expression of P53 protein in 92 colorectal car-cinomas was examined using the monoclonal antibody PAb *** between P53 protein expression and prognosis in col-orectal carcinoma was analyzed using log-rank *** The frequency of P53 protein expression was 57.61%,corresponding with Dukes’ *** of survivordata demonstrated that the survival rate of colorectal carcinomawith positive P53 protein group was lower than that of negativeP53 protein *** We conclude that the expression of P53 pro-tein is correlated with poor prognosis in colorectal carcinoma.

Effect of HCV NS_3 protein on P53 protein expression in hepatocarcinogenesis

AIM To investigate hepatocarcinogenesis by detecting the effect of HCV NS 3 protein on P53 protein expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and pericarcinomatous liver tissue (PCLT). METHODS The expression of HCV NS 3 and P53 protein was detected with immunohistochemical technique (SP method) in specimens of HCC and PCLT from 47 patients with negative HBV. RESULTS The positive rate of HCV NS 3 protein was lower in HCC (62%) than in PCLT (83%) ( P 0 5), whereas their expression was closely related to PCLT ( P <0 01), and the expression rate of P53 protein in the cases of positive HCV NS 3 protein was higher than that in the cases of negative HCV NS 3 protein. CONCLUSION HCV NS 3 protein may exert its hepatocarcinogenic effect in early stage on host cells by endogenous pathway which may bring about mutation of p53 gene and transformation of hepatocytes.

AIM To investigate the relationship between the loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of microsatellite on the Deleted in colorectal carcinoma (DCC) gene and the prognosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma. METHODS A retrospective study of 58 cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma with the follow up data and paired control normal mucosal tissues from 1983 to 1985 from files of the Department of Pathology, West China University of Medical Sciences was carried out by PCR microsatellite method. Tumors were graded as well, moderately and poorly differentiated in 16, 35 and 7 cases, and staged as Dukes′ A, B, C in 11, 30 and 17 cases, respectively. RESULTS Heterozygosity of microsatellite was lost on DCC gene in 18 of 58 (31 0%) cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma. The 5 year survival rate between the positive and negative for LOH was 44 4% and 77 5%, respectively, being significantly different ( P 0 05) and Dukes′ stage ( P >0 05) in colorectal adenocarcinoma. CONCLUSION LOH of microsatellite on DCC gene may be one of malignant markers. Combined with the traditional prognostic indices, LOH can predict the prognosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma.
