Potassium tert-butoxide has been found to be a highly efficient catalyst for one-pot,three-component reaction of aryl aldehydes, acetophenones,and thiols via Claisen-Schmidt/Michael addition reactions for the synthesis of thia-Michael adducts in high yields. The reactions are best carried out in tert-butyl alcohol at room temperature.

A facile and environmentally friendly visible-light-induced three-component reaction of α-diazoesters,cyclic ethers and Na SCN to construct organic thiocyanates has been developed at room temperature. This reaction could occur under photocatalyst-and additive-free conditions to afford a number of organic thiocyanates with moderate to good yield and favorable functional group tolerance.

Molecules possessing 2（5 H）-furanone moiety are receiving increasing attention due to the significant biological activities,such as antifungal,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,and anticancer.1 At the same time,many 3,4-dihalo-2（5 H）-furanone compounds are important synthons in organic synthesis and material preparation.2 Recently,we found a new catalyst-free three-component reaction for the preparation of important compounds arylsulfonyl dibromomethanes without the needs of anaerobic atmosphere from sodium arylsulfinate 1,3,4-dibromo-5-hydroxy-2（5 H）-furanone 3（X = Br,R = OH） and solvent DMSO（2）.3 Herein,we further found that other 3,4-dihalo-2（5 H）-furanone derivatives 3 also could take part in this mild metal-free three-component reaction to synthesize arylsulfonyl dihalomethanes ***,the yields were affected by 5-position functional group slightly while halogen kinds seriously.

A three-component reaction for the Synthesis of Multifunctionalized Isoxazolidines and Aziridines

The tetrahydrocarbazole architecture is a privileged heterocyclic ring *** not only widely exists in various naturally occurring alkaloids and pharmacologically active compounds,but also is featured in a large family of synthetic analogues exhibiting a wide spectrum of important bio ***,many elegant methods for the preparation of various tetrahydrocarb azole derivatives have been developed in the past *** the many efficient synthetic methodologies for tetrahydrocarbazoles,the [4+2] reaction of 3-vinylindolines with diverse dienophiles has proven to be the most attractive strategy for the synthesis of many carbazole *** three-component Levy reaction of indole-2-acetate,aldehyde and dienophiles involved the in situ generation of active 3-methyleneindolines and sequential Diels-Alder reaction for synthesis of versatile tetrahydrocarbazoles. By employing3-methyleneoxindoles,2-arylidene-1,3-indanediones and isatylidene malononitrile as active dienophiles,we found that CuSO promoted three-component reaction in toluene at 130℃ afforded diverse spiro-indoline-carbazole derivatives in ggood yields with high *** relative configuration of the obtained spiro compounds were clearly elucidated by determination of a couple of single crystal structures.
