Objective:To compare histopathology and PCR based detection in diagnosis of experimentally induced toxoplasmosis of RH human strain of the parasite in murine ***:A comparison of histopathology and PCR based detection was done to diagnose experimentally induced toxoplasmosis in ten inbred swiss albino mice after intraperitoneal inoculation of 100 tachyzoites of laboratory mantained human RH strain of the *** samples from lung,liver,spleen,brain,heart and kidney were taken and processed for histopathological examination while all the samples also were subjected to PCR,using primers directed to the multicopy of SAG 3 gene,in ***:Histopathology revealed presence of tachyzoites only in liver while along with lung,liver,spleen and brain tissue yielded desired positive PCR ***:The SAG 3 based PCR is able to diagnose toxoplasmosis in those tissues which are declared negative by histopathological assay.

Ultrasound-guided biopsy procedure for prostate cancer diagnosis,which is the current gold standard,involves quasi-random sampling of prostate tissue without any functional *** this study,we discuss the possibility to augment the detection of prostate cancer using a dual-modality optical approach,which can be coupled with the current needle biopsy *** techniques are light reflectance spectroscopy(LRS)that uses a broadband light source and a CCD array spectrometer,and auto-fluorescence lifetime measurement(AFLM)that uses a custom-designed,time-correlated single photon counting(TCSPC)*** LRS and AFLM were employed sequentially in this study to measure cancer tissue along with control tissue on a rat prostate tumor *** an excitation wavelength of 447 nm,we investigated auto-fluorescence decay curves at the emission wavelengths of 532,562,632 and 684 nm for in vivo and ex vivo *** results show that auto-fluorescence lifetimes at all measured emission wavelengths differ between control and cancerous tissues with 100% specificity and ***,absolute values of hemoglobin derivatives and scattering coe±cient were quantified using in vivo *** part of study also demonstrates that light scattering and absorption are significantly different between the control and cancerous ***,the study demonstrates that both LRS and AFLM may provide several intrinsic biomarkers for in vivo detection of prostate cancer.

The microstructural mechanisms leading to onset of the flash sintering are demonstrated experimentally and theoretically for Yttria Stabilized Zirconia,*** regimes leading to flash event are identified:(1)Radiation-dominated regime,where the oven controls the heating of the sintered sample,and a small subset of particle-particle contacts and surfaces of the green body define percolative paths for the charge to flow along and across the interfaces;(2)Transition regime,where charge transport is suppressed across particle contact misorientations and deflects to surficial and small angle particle contact *** a result,internal Joule heating takes over externally-driven radiation ***,(3)Percolative regime,where the concentration of oxygen vacancies drastically increases at particle contacts,surfaces,and triple junctions,and enables charge to flow through multiple paths,generating large amounts of Joule heating,resulting in the onset of a flash *** validated theory sets the stage to rationalize the microstructural evolution and charge transport on a ceramic green body during flash sintering.

Carbon stock estimation was conducted in tree species of Sem Mukhem sacred forest in district Tehri of Garhwal Himalaya, Uttara- khand, India. This forest is dedicated to Nagraj Devta and is dominated by tree species, including Quercus floribunda, Quercus semecarpifolia and Rhododendron arboreum. The highest values of below ground bio- mass density, total biomass density and total carbon density were （34.81±1.68） Mg·ha^-1, （168.26±9.04） Mg·ha^-1 and （84.13±4.18） Mg·ha^-1 for Pinus wallichiana. Overall values of total biomass density and total carbon density calculated were 1549.704 Mg·ha^-1 and 774.77 Mg·ha^-1 respectively. Total value of growing stock volume density for all species was 732.56 m3·ha^-1 and ranged from （144.97±11.98） m3·ha^-1 for Pinus wallichiana to （7.78±1.78） m3·ha^-1for Benthamidia capitata.

Acute Aortic Occlusion in a Critically Ill Adult Presenting to the Emergency Department

Acute Aortic Occlusion (AAO) is a rare, life-threatening event so far described mainly in small-scale series. The most common causes of AAO are large saddle emboli to the aortic bifurcation, in-situ thrombosis of an atherosclerotic aorta, and occlusion of previous surgical reconstruction. We present the case of a 52-year-old female with rheumatic heart disease, ischemic cardiomyopathy with restricted left ventricular function, atrial fibrillation, and previous cardio-embolic stroke, who was brought to the Emergency Department (ED) with sudden-onset dyspnea and lower backache radiating to both the legs. On arrival at the ED, the patient was electively intubated and mechanically ventilated in view of hypoxia and altered mental status, attributed to respiratory failure secondary to acute cardiogenic pulmonary oedema. The secondary survey revealed absence of bilateral femoral and popliteal artery pulsations. A computed tomography (CT) aortogram showed a complete lumen occlusion thrombus in the infra-renal region of the abdominal aorta at the level of L3-L4 lumbar vertebrae. An emergency embolectomy was performed successfully, following which the patient was started on heparin infusion and managed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In the ICU, she suffered a torsade-cardiac arrest, with return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) following rapid defibrillation. She was extubated on Day 3. Three weeks later, she was discharged from the hospital. At the time of discharge, she had developed ischemic lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy, for which neuro-rehabilitation was advised. In our case report, we would like to highlight the following key points: 1) The importance of a detailed secondary survey in the Emergency Department (ED). 2) An inter-disciplinary approach to a complex syndrome that ensures the highest probability of a good outcome. .

Since its initial description as a safe and feasible access route for cardiac catheterization, the radial artery has been increasingly used for percutaneous coronary procedures. The transradial approach for percutaneous coronary procedures has the advantage of reduced adverse vascular events. Nevertheless, there are chances of transradial procedure failure due to variation in radial artery anatomy. We report a case of high radial artery origin in a 63 year-old-male patient who was taken up for elective radial percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty for in-stent restenosis of proximal left anterior descending artery. Subsequently, there was difficulty in negotiating guide wire and balloons, so imaging of radial artery was carried out which clearly demonstrated a high bifurcating radial origin. This case emphasizes the need for imaging of radial artery to delineate underlying anomalies and identifying patients with unfavorable anatomy when technical difficulties are encountered. Imaging in such a situation helps in planning an appropriate strategy.
