Nowadays,a number of promising strategies are being developed that aim at combining diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities into clinically effective ***,the combination of a modified release provided by an organic encapsulation and the intrinsic physico-chemical properties from an inorganic counterpart opens new perspectives in biomedical ***,a biocompatible magnetic lipid nanocomposite vehicle was developed through an efficient,green and simple method to simultaneously incorporate magnetic nanoparticles and an anticancer drug(doxorubicin)into a natural *** theranostic performance of the final magnetic formulation was validated in vitro and in vivo,in melanoma *** systemic administration of the proposed magnetic hybrid nanocomposite carrier enhanced anti-tumoral activity through a synergistic combination of magnetic hyperthermia effects and antimitotic therapy,together with MRI reporting *** application of an alternating magnetic field was found to play a dual role,(i)acting as an extra layer of control(remote,on-demand)over the chemotherapy release and(ii)inducing a local thermal ablation of tumor *** combination of chemotherapy with thermotherapy establishes a synergistic platform for the treatment of solid malignant tumors under lower drug dosing schemes,which may realize the dual goal of reduced systemic toxicity and enhanced anti-tumoral efficacy.

laurel forests are quite relevant for biodiversity conservation and are among the island ecosystems most severely damaged by human *** the past,Canary laurel forests have been greatly altered by logging,livestock and *** remains of laurel forests are currently protected in the Canary Islands(Spain).However,we miss basic information needed for their restoration and adaptive management,such as tree longevity,growth potential and responsiveness to natural and anthropogenic *** dendrochronological methods,we studied how forest dynamic is related to land-use change and windstorms in two well-preserved laurel forests on Tenerife *** cores were collected from over 80 trees per stand at three stands per *** used ring-width series to estimate tree ages and calculate annual basal area increments(BAI),cumulative diameter increases,and changes indicative of released and suppressed *** tree species were found in all stands,with laurus novocanariensis,Ilex canariensis and Morella faya being the most common *** some individuals were over 100 years old,61.8%-88.9% of the trees per stand established between 1940 and 1970,coinciding with a post-war period of land abandonment,rural exodus and the onset of a tourism *** trees have shown growth rates larger than 1 cm diameter per year and most species have had increasing BAI trends over the past *** growth releases occurred after windstorms at both sites,but the effects of windstorms were site-dependent,with the 1958 storm affecting mainly the eastern tip of the island(Anaga massif)and the 1991 storm the western tip(Teno massif).Given the great ability of laurel forest trees to establish after land use cessation and to increase growth after local disturbances such as windstorms,passive restoration may be sufficient to regenerate this habitat in currently degraded areas.

Variation in offspring sex ratios is a central topic in animal demography and population *** studies have focused on bird species with marked sexual dimorphism and multiple-nestling broods,where the offspring sex ratio is often biased due to different individual or environmental ***,biases in offspring sex ratios have been far less investigated in monomorphic and single-egg laying species,and few studies have evaluated long-term and large-scale variations in the sex ratio of nestling ***,we explore individual and environmental factors potentially affecting the secondary sex ratio of the monomorphic griffon vulture Gyps *** used information collected at three breeding nuclei from central Spain over a 30-year period(1990–2020)to analyse the effects of nestling age,parental age,breeding phenology,conspecific density,population reproductive parameters,and spatial and temporal variability on nestling *** ratio did not differ from parity either at the population or the nuclei *** significant between-year differences were detected,even under highly changing conditions of food availability associated with the mad-cow *** found that tree nesting breeders tend to have more sons than daughters,but as this nesting behavior is rare and we consequently have a small sample size,this issue would require additional *** further research is needed to assess the potential effect of breeder identity on nestling sex ratio,this study contributes to understanding the basic ecology and population dynamics of Griffon Vultures,a long-lived species with deferred maturity and low fecundity,whose minor deviations in the offspring sex ratio might imply major changes at the population level.

背景：关于经皮冠状动脉介入治疗（percutaneous coronary intervention，PCI）前氯吡格雷预治疗的益处目前仍有争议，并且其使用亦未获得普遍认可。目的：于新近发生ST段抬高心肌梗死（ST—segment elevation myocardial infarction，STEMI）的患者中确定PCI前氯吡格雷预治疗预防严重不良心血管事件的效果是否优于PCI时开始采用氯吡格雷治疗。设计、地点及参试者：ClARITY（PCI—Clopidogrel as Adjunctive Reperfusion Therapy）研究是一项于1863例患者中进行的前瞻性计划分析。这些患者均于ClARITY—TIMI（Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction）28试验中在血管造影后实施了PCI。ClARITY—TIMI28是一项在接受纤溶治疗的患者中进行的有关氯吡格雷效果的随机、双盲、安慰剂对照试验。患者于2003年2月至2004年10月入选自23个国家的319家医院。干预：患者服用阿斯匹林并于纤溶治疗时开始随机接受氯吡格雷（300mg负荷剂量，以后75mg，每日1次）或安慰剂，直至冠状动脉造影前为止。造影在开始研究药物后2～8天进行。接受冠脉支架的患者建议于诊断性血管造影后给予开标氯吡格雷（包括负荷剂量）。主要观测指标：一级终点为PCI至随机分组后30天心血管死亡、MI复发或脑卒中的复合发生率。二级终点包括在PCI之前发生的MI或脑卒中以及前述随机分组后30天相关终点。结果：氯吡格雷预治疗可显著降低PCI后心血管死亡、MI或脑卒中的发生率（34[3．6％]比58[6．2％]；校正优势比[odds ratio，OR]，0．54[95％CI，0．35—0．85]；P=0．008）。氯吡格雷预治疗还可降低PCI前MI或脑卒中的发生率（37[4．0％]比58[6．2％]；OR，0．62[95％CI，0．40～0．95]；P=0．03）。总体上，氯吡格雷预治疗可导致随机分组后30天心血管死亡、MI或脑卒中显著下降（70[7．5％]比112[12．0％]；校正OR，0．59[95％CI，0．43～0．81]；P=0．001；所需治疗例数=23）。TIMI严重或轻微出血的发生率未显著增加（（18[20％]比17[1．9％]；P〉0．99）。结论：氯吡格雷预治疗可显著降低PCI前后心血管死亡或缺血并发症，而严重或轻微出血无显著增加。这些数据为STEMI患者早期使用氯吡格雷以及接受PCI的患者常规采用氯吡格雷预治疗方案提供了进一步的支持。

located in the middle of the fever to solve the problem of CO_(2)emissions in the environment,CO_(2)sequestration by reaction with epoxides is one of the key tools,as it not only fixes CO_(2),but also makes it functional by leading to cyclic ***,the results are focused specifically on the formation of cyclic organic carbonates catalyzed by metal-salen complexes,previously achieved with yttrium and scandium,that are compared with those of analogous complexes containing metals from the first transition series,such as cobalt or *** functional theory(DFT)calculations allow to determine whether this switch of metals will be feasible and provide the basis for instigating future experimental efforts in this *** calculations analyzing the structure and electronics of the catalysts allow us to give not only a clear picture of whether these catalysts will be efficient,but also allow us to assess which metal center is the most convenient and/or whether the catalytic reaction will occur under mild *** buried volume calculations with the SambVca packages shed light on the different catalytic pockets of monometallic first row transition metals *** III salen *** predictive catalysis results show that the bite O-M-O angle plays an essential role in the catalysis.

Agro-Industrial Waste as a Source of Raw Material:Eggshell and Ash of Agave salmiana Useful for the Synthesis of Hydroxyapatite

Agave salmiana ash and poultry eggshell powder as CaO sources were used for obtaining nanostructured hydro-xyapatite(HAP).The synthesis was carried out by the Green Chemistry Hydrothermal Biosynthesis at 180℃ with a pH of 5,by reacting CaO from Agave Salmiana ash and Eggshell powder,with dibasic caldium phosphate(CaH-PO_(4)+2H_(2)O)in an aqueous solution,with Aloe barbadensis *** product was characterized by X-ray dif-fraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM).The size and shape of the hydroxyapatite particles changed dramati-cally in the presence of Aloe *** crystals of Hydroxyapatite were observed when Eggshell powder and Agave salmiana ash were used as raw materials in the presence of the Aloe barbadensis *** with shapes of ribbons and plates from 1 micrometers to 8 micrometers were observed when using the eggshell powder in the presence of Aloe bar badensis and,in the case of Agave salmiana ash in the presence of Aloe bar-badensis,crystals with shapes of quadra ngular prisms and hexagonal(polyhedra)with sizes from 2 micrometers to 20 micrometers were *** was therefore successfully biosynthesized by a green and sus-tainable method that reduces the environmental impact.

Ozone forming potential and sulfur effects on in-use vehicles of the metropolitan area of Mexico City

The largest urban areas of Mexico cities have witnessed high levels of air pollution in the past few decades. The most important air pollutants are ozone and particulate matter with levels that are still far above current air quality standard. In this work we studied exhaust and evaporative emissions of Mexico City metropolitan area (MAMC) vehicles using fuels in which sulfur content was varied from 89×10?6 to 817×10?6, and calculated the ozone forming potential of emissions as well as the specific reactivity of the exhaust for each average fleet-fuel combinations. Data on emission levels were compared to those obtained in 2000 for the same vintage of vehicles. The almost twofold increase in emissions found could be due to degradation of the exhaust emissions control systems.

This paper presents an upper limb exoskeleton that allows cognitive(through electromyography signals)and physical user interaction(through load cells sensors)for passive and active exercises that can activate neuroplasticity in the rehabilitation process of people who suffer from a neurological *** the exoskeleton to be easily accepted by patients who suffer from a neurological injury,we used the ISO9241-210:2010 as a methodology design *** the first steps of the design process,design requirements were collected from previous usability tests and ***,as a second step,a technological solution is proposed,and as a third step,the system was evaluated through performance and user *** part of the technological solution and to allow patient participation during the rehabilitation process,we have proposed a hybrid admittance control whose input is load cell or electromyography *** hybrid admittance control is intended for active therapy exercises,is easily implemented,and does not need musculoskeletal modeling to ***,electromyography signals classification models and features were evaluated to identify the best settings for the cognitive human–robot interaction.
