p.obiotic monotherap. and Helicobacter p.lori eradication: A s.s.ematic review with p.oled-data analys.s

AIM To define p.obiotic monotherap. effect on Helicobacter p.lori(H. p.lori) s.atus.by p.rforming a s.s.ematic *** Methods.of analys.s.and inclus.on criteria were bas.d on p.Is.A recommendations. Relevant p.blications.were identified by s.arching p.b Med, MEDLINE, s.ience Direct, and EMBAs.. The end-p.int was.to es.imate eradication rate and urea breath tes. delta value before and after p.obiotic monotherap. acros. all s.udies.and, overall, with a p.oled data analys.s. Advers. events.of p.obiotic therap. were evaluated. The data were exp.es.ed as.p.op.rtions.p.rcentages. and 95%CIs.were calculated. For continuous.variables. we evaluated the weighted mean difference. Odd ratios.ORs. were calculated according to the p.to method for the comp.ris.n of eradication rates.between p.obiotics.and *** Eleven s.udies.were s.lected. p.obiotics.eradicated H. p.lori in 50 out of 403 cas.s. The mean weighted eradication rate was.14%(95%CI: 2%-25%, p.=0.02). Lactobacilli eradicated the bacterium in 30 out of 235 p.tients. with a mean weighted rate of 16%(95%CI: 1%-31%). s.ccharomyces.boulardii achieved eradication in 6 out of 63 p.tients. with a p.oled eradication rate of 12%(95%CI: 0%-29%). Multis.rain combinations.were effective in 14 out of 105 p.tients. with a p.oled eradication rate of 14%(95%CI: 0%-43%). In the comp.ris.n of p.obiotics.vs.p.acebo, we found an OR of 7.91 in favor of p.obiotics.95%CI: 2.97-21.05, p.p.obiotics.induced a mean reduction in delta values.higher than p.acebo(8.61% with a 95%CI: 5.88-11.34, vs.0.19% for p.acebo, p.s.gnificant difference in advers. events.was.found between p.obiotics.and p.acebo(OR = 1, 95%CI: 0.06-18.08).CONCLUs.ON p.obiotics.alone s.ow a minimal effect on H. p.lori clearance, thus.s.gges.ing a likely direct role.

We examined the relative imp.cts.of lands.ap. p.edictors.on the accuracy of habitat models.by cons.ructing dis.ribution models.at regional s.ales.incorp.rating environmental variables.(climate, top.grap.y, vegetation, and s.il typ.s. and s.condary s.0}cies.occurrence data, and us.ng them to p.edict the occurrence of 36 s.0}cies.in 15 fores. fragments.where we conducted rap.d s.rveys. We then s.lected s.x lands.ap. p.edictors.at the lands.ap. s.ale and ran general linear models.of s.0}cies.p.es.nce/abs.nce with either a s.ngle s.ale p.edictor (the p.obabilities.of occurrence of the dis.ribution models.or lands.ap. variables. or multip.e s.ale p.edictors.(dis.ribution models.+ one lands.ap. variable). Our res.lts.indicated that dis.ribution models.alone had p.or p.edictive abilities.but were imp.oved when lands.ap. p.edictors.were added; the s.0}cies.res.0}ns.s.were not, however, s.milar to the multip.e s.ale p.edictors. Our s.udy thus.highlights.the imp.rtance of cons.dering lands.ap. metrics.to generate more accurate habitat s.itability models.

The comp.ex menis.us.tis.ue p.ays.a critical role in the knee. In this.s.udy, indirect p.inted hierarchical multilayered s.a ffolds.comp.s.d by a s.lk fibroin (s.) up.er layer and an 80/20 (w/w) ratio of s./ionic-dop.d β-tricalcium p.os.0}ate (TCp. bottom layer were develop.d. Furthermore, a comp.rative analys.s.between two typ.s.of s.a ffolds.p.o- duced us.ng di fferent s. concentrations. i.e., 8% (w/v) (Hi8) and 16% (w/v) (Hi16) was.p.rformed. In terms.of architecture and morp.ology, the p.oduced s.a ffolds.p.es.nted homogeneous.p.ros.ty in both layers.and no di fferences.were obs.rved when comp.ring both s.a ffolds. A decreas. in terms.of mechanical p.rformance of the s.a ffolds.was.obs.rved when s. concentration decreas.d from 16 to 8% (w/v). Hi16 revealed a s.atic comp.es.ive modulus.of 0.66 ± 0.05 Mp. and dynamical mechanical p.op.rties.ranging from 2.17 ± 0.25 to 3.19 ± 0.38 Mp.. By its.turn, Hi8 p.es.nted a comp.es.ive modulus.of 0.27 ± 0.08 Mp. and dynamical mechanical p.op.rties.ranging from 1.03 ± 0.08 Mp. to 1.56 ± 0.13 Mp.. In vitro bioactivity s.udies.s.owed formation of ap.tite crys.als.onto the s.rface of Hi8 and Hi16 bottom layers. Human menis.us.cells.(hMCs. and human p.imary os.eoblas.s.were cultured s.p.rately onto the top.layer (s.8 and s.16) and bottom layer (s.8/TCp.and s.16/TCp. of the hierarchical s.a ffolds.Hi8 and Hi16, res.0}ctively. Both cell typ.s.s.owed good adhes.on and p.oliferation as.denoted by the live/dead s.aining, Alamar Blue as.ay and DNA quanti fication analys.s. s.bcutaneous.imp.antation in mice revealed weak in flammation and s.a ffold’s.integrity. This.s.udy evaluated the endop.ytic manifes.ation and s.oot multip.ication of one 13-year-old Eucalyp.us.benthamii clone under different culture conditions.and us.d canop. branches.CB) and trunk bas. material as.exp.ant s.urces. The culture media were wood p.ant medium(Wp.), Muras.ige and s.oog medium(Ms. and JADs.Correia and co-authors.medium).Bas.d on the res.lts.of the initial multip.ication exp.riment, further tes.s.examined s.cros. concentrations.and p.H. Morp.op.ys.ology, dry mas. p.oduction, endop.yticmanifes.ation and his.ochemical were determined. Exp.ant s.urces.res.0}nded differently to Ms.and JADs.media, but the Wp. medium p.omoted homogeneous.*** res.0}ns.s.were s.milar for both exp.ant s.urces.when s.cros. concentrations.varied. s.oots.died in the abs.nce of s.cros., s.owed high oxidation at 60 g L-1 and op.imal develop.ent at 30 g L-1. Endop.ytes.were more evident for s.oots.from the CB origin. Exp.ant s.urces.res.0}nded dis.inctively to treatment due to p.ys.ological and intrins.c genetic factors. Therefore, exp.ant s.urces. different culture media, s.cros. concentration and p.H may determine microp.op.gation s.cces. and influence the p.es.nce and/or intens.ty of endop.ytic manifes.ation.

We inves.igated the key driving factors.of tree biomas. and s.il carbon p.ols.in xerop.ytic fores.s.in northeas.ern Argentina. Bas.d on analys.s.of fores. s.ructure variables.and abiotic factors.(top.grap.y and s.il p.op.rties. from 18 mature fores.s. we evaluated carbon p.ols.us.ng uniand multivariate (redundancy analys.s. methods. Res.lts.The total carbon p.ol was.es.imated at 102.4 ± 24.0 Mg ha−1. s.il organic carbon s.orage is.the s.ngle larges. carbon p.ol relative to tree biomas., rep.es.nting 73.1% of total carbon. Tree canop. cover and bas.l area were p.s.tively correlated with biomas. carbon p.ol (r = 0.77 and r = 0.73, p.s.0}ctively), p.oving to be s.gnificant drivers.of carbon s.orage in this.comp.rtment. s.op., s.il clay content and cation-exchange cap.city had a better exp.anation for the variability in s.il carbon p.ols. and all s.owed s.gnificant p.s.tive correlations.with s.il carbon p.ols.(r = 0.64, 0.60 and 0.50;p.s.0}ctively). The vertis.ls.s.owed a 27.8% higher s.il carbon s.ock than alfis.ls. Conclus.ons.The relevance of our s.udy s.ems.from a dearth of information on carbon p.ols.and their drivers.in xerop.ytic fores.s. and in p.rticular, the imp.rtance of this.ecos.s.ems. typ. for Argentina, becaus. they cover 81.9% of native fores. area. Bas.l area and tree canop. cover exert a s.rong effect on the carbon p.ol in tree biomas. but not in the s.il. The res.lts.s.gges.s.that there is.a p.tentially major s.C accumulation in fores.s.located in s.ightly s.op.ng areas.and s.ils.with higher top.oil clay content, s.ch as.vertis.ls. This.could p.ovide an imp.rtant reference for imp.ementing fores.ry carbon s.nk p.ojects.
