Using high-resolution transmission Kikuchi diffraction(TKD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM),we examined the hierarchical clusters that form in situ in the heat-affected zone(hAZ),which are com-monly referred to as“ghost”structures,of bimodal titanium alloy Ti-5Al-2Sn-2Zr-4Mo-4Cr(wt%,TC17).The ghost structures are enriched with Al elements but poor in Mo and Cr compared to the surroundingβ*** results show that the ghost structure in middle-hAZ mainly consists ofα_(l)laths with a high-angle grain boundary,which exhibits the classic Burgers orientation relationship(BOR)with the host matrix,while it encircles theα_(P)grains in *** the ghost structure is evidenced to form via in-complete martensitic *** results further confirm that the ghost structure is composed ofαl and tinyβ_(l)laths with BOR,with the former being enriched with Al and poor with Cr and Mo,while the latter is the ***,twoα_(l)variant clusters with a check-mark morphology are fre-quently observed viewed along[0001]_(αl)//[110]_(βl)directions,which are dominated by the crystallographic and geometrical relationships betweenαandβ*** on the microstructural characterization,it is hypothesized that the ghost structure is transformed from the initialα_(P)phase,due to the coupling ef-fect of high thermal stress(which induces the formation of a large number of dislocations)and element diffusion caused by sudden temperature increase and plunge cooling in the hAZ during the welding pro-cess.

Tumor cell clusters are regarded as critical factors in cancer pathophysiology,and increasing evidence of their higher treatment resistance and metastasis compared to single tumor cells has been ***,existing cell separation methods that are designed for single tumor cells cannot be used to simultaneously purify tumor cell *** address this problem,we demonstrated a microfluidic approach for the high-throughput,continuous-flow ternary separation of single tumor cells,tumor cell clusters,and WBCs from clinical pleural or abdominal effusions by coupling slanted spiral channels and periodic contraction-expansion *** first systematically explored the influence of particle size and flow rate on particle *** separation performance indicated that 94.0%of WBCs were removed and more than 97%of MDA-MB-231 tumor cells were recovered at a high flow rate of 3500µl/***,more than 90%of tumor cell clusters were effectively preserved after ***,we successfully applied our device for the ternary separation of single tumor cells,tumor cell clusters,and WBCs from different malignant effusions collected from patients with metastatic ***,our spiral-contraction-expansion device has potential as a sample pretreatment tool for the cytological diagnosis of malignant effusions.

The research on gas-liquid multiphase reactions using micro reactors is becoming increasingly widespread, given their excellent mass transfer performance. Establishing an accurate and reliable method to measure the gas-liquid mass transfer performance of micro reactors is crucial for evaluating and optimizing the design of micro reactor structure. In this paper, the physical absorption method of aqueous solution-CO_(2) and the chemical absorption method of sodium carbonate solution-CO_(2) were proposed. By analyzing the chemical reaction equilibrium during the absorption process, the relationship between the mass transfer of CO_(2) and the solubility of hydroxide ions in the solution was established, and the total gas-liquid mass transfer coefficient was immediately obtained by measuring the p h value. The corresponding testing platform and process have been established based on the characteristics of the proposed method to ensure fast and accurate measurement. In addition, the chemical absorption method takes into account temperature factors that were not previously considered. The volumetric mass transfer coefficient measured by these two methods is in the same range as those measured by other methods using the same microchannel structure in previous literature. The methods have the advantages of low equipment cost, faster measurement speed, and simpler procedures, which can facilitate its wide application to the evaluation of the mass transfer performance and hence can guide the structure optimization of microchannel reactors.

It is desirable but always challenging to develop a cutting-edge tumor treatment strategy with high therapeutic efficacy,lesiontargeted precision and mild *** to traditional treatment modalities,photodynamic therapy has been widely studied since the generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)at cancerous lesions unprecedentedly offers a convenient approach for localized tumor ***,the consumption of oxygen for ROS production in a hypoxic tumor microenvironment has dramatically limited its feasibility and ***,the engineered nanocomposites of BTO@PDA-ICGhA with photodynamic and pyroelectric performances have been fabricated and applied to the photodynamic-pyroelectric dynamic *** continuing ROS production derived from intracellular oxygen(O_(2))and water(h_(2)O)by laser irradiation contributed to the superb tumor cell apoptosis and significant tumor growth ***,this study has validated a new concept by depositing the engineered nanocomposites at the tumor just like Trojan horses,facilitating ROS release as killers and exerting the NIR-induced cell apoptosis and tumor growth inhibition with high therapeutic efficiency and expectable translational perspectives.

Molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)) films are widely deployed in industrial applications owing to their inherent interlayer slip characteristics, offering energy consumption savings and prolonged mechanical part performance. Nevertheless, their practical utility is limited by environmental constraints and the limitations of preparation techniques, which hinder the attainment of robust superlubricity(friction coefficient herein, through magnetron sputtering technology, we synthesize a core-shell-like nanocomposite composed of MoS_(2)nanosheets encapsulating B_(4)C. The core-shell-like structure enables the resulting films to preferentially grow crystalline MoS_(2), providing them with outstanding mechanical properties and efficient lubrication over a wide range of temperatures. Remarkably, such film achieves robust macroscale superlubricity and an ultralow wear rate(1.7 ×10^(-8)mm^(3)N-1m^(-1)) under high contact stress in a mild vacuum environment. This noteworthy outcome is primarily attributable to the self-segmentation of the macroscale contact interface during the friction process, involving:(1) a large amount of wear debris is embedded into the wear track to create extensive micro-sized asperities;(2) a nanolayer of amorphous carbon enriched with oxide nanoparticles is formed on the uppermost part of these asperities;(3) numerous incommensurate nanocontacts comprising nanoparticles and highly oriented MoS_(2)nanosheets are established, culminating in the achievement of robust superlubricity. Our pioneering design, coupled with the elucidation of the underlying superlubricity mechanism, holds significant promise for advancing the development of robust and high-performance lubricants.

In-situ electron irradiation and aging are applied to introduce high-density precipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr(GWZ1031K,wt.%)alloy to improve the *** results show that the hardness of the Mg alloy after irradiation for 10 h and aging for 9 h at 250℃ is 1.64 GPa,which is approximately 64% higher than that of the samples before being *** is mainly attributed to γ'precipitates on the basal plane after irradiation and the high-density nanoscale β'precipitates on the prismatic plane after aging,which should be closely related to the irradiation-induced homogenous *** latter plays a key role in precipitation *** result paves a way to improve the mechanical properties of metallic materials by tailoring the precipitation through irradiation and aging.

Recently,a novel 2-electron oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)based electro-oxidation(EO)system was developed,which utilizes a h_(2)O_(2)generation cathode instead of h_(2)evolution cathode.A Ti-based Ni-Sb co-doped SnO_(2)(Ti/NATO)anode was selected for efficient degradation of refractory organics and O_(3)*** synergistic reaction of O3/h_(2)O_(2)further accelerated the generation of hydroxyl radicals(·Oh)in the ORR-EO ***,the catalytic activity and long-term effectiveness of the Ti/NATO anode limited the large-scale application of the ORR-EO *** this study,a blue TiO_(2)nanotube array(blue-TiO_(2)-NTA)inter-layer was introduced into the fabrication process between the Ti substrate and NATO catalyst *** to the Ti/NATO anode,the Ti/blue-TiO_(2)-NTA/NATO anode achieved higher efficiency of organic removal and O_(3)***,the accelerated lifetime of the Ti/blue-TiO_(2)-NTA/NATO anode was increased by 7 times compared to the Ti/NATO *** combined with CNTs-C/PTFE air cathode in ORR-EO system,all anodic oxidation and O_(3)/h_(2)O_(2)processes achieved higher•Oh *** 92%of TOC in leachate bio-effluent was effectively eliminated with a relatively low energy cost of 45 kWh/t.

Solid materials with dynamically tunable circularly polarized luminescence(CPl) feature higher security levels and devicefriendly characteristics, showing great superiority in the field of information technology and anti-counterfeiting. To address the limited photoisomerization of fluorescent photoswitch in CPl-active solid materials, here a cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer(ClCE) containing a hydrogen-bonded(h-bonded) polymerizable fluorescent switch AhBA-PSD is prepared. Owing to the good flexibility and low glass-transition temperature of ClCE, AhBA-PSD shows a fast and fully reversible photocyclization/cycloreversion with fluorochromic behavior in ClCE. Further, by controlling the spectral overlapping area between the emission and reflection bands, the ClCE exhibits a strong CPl with a g_(lum) value of up to 0.76 accompanied by a reversible phototunable CPl signal. Meanwhile, the h-bond helps to stabilize the mechanical property, and the force-induced switching-off of CPl signal could be achieved due to the destroyed helical structures by external force. Finally, an automatically-recognized identification card with abundant chiroptical information is demonstrated.
