Antimicrobial.resistance(AMR)poses a critical.threat to gl.bal.heal.h and devel.pment,with environmental.factors—particul.rl. in urban areas—contributing significantl. to the spread of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs).However,most research to date has been conducted at a l.cal.l.vel.l.aving significant gaps in our understanding of the gl.bal.status of antibiotic resistance in urban *** address this issue,we thoroughl. anal.zed a total.of 86,213 ARGs detected within 4,728 metagenome sampl.s,which were col.ected by the Meta SUB International.Consortium invol.ing diverse urban environments in 60 cities of 27 countries,util.zing a deep-l.arning based *** findings demonstrated the strong geographical.specificity of urban environmental.resistome,and their correl.tion with various l.cal.socioeconomic and medical.*** al.o identified distinctive evol.tionary patterns of ARG-rel.ted biosynthetic gene cl.sters(BGCs)across different countries,and discovered that the urban environment represents a rich source of novel.*** study provides a comprehensive overview of the gl.bal.urban environmental.resistome,and fil.s a significant gap in our knowl.dge of l.rge-scal. urban antibiotic resistome anal.sis.

Chitin powder and chitin-aerogel.were prepared from shrimp wastes and used to uptake Y^(3+)from aqueous sol.tions and concentrate this rare earth el.ment from phosphogypsum(PG).Chitin aerogel.displ.ys a specific surface area of 945 m^(2)/g,whil. chitin powder is 3.6 m^(2)/g,which l.rgel. infl.ences its adsorption *** the adsorption in synthetic sol.tions,the effect of pH on Y^(3+)removal.is strong for chitin powder *** contrast,no big pH infl.ence was detected for chitin *** interactions and chel.tion can highl.ght the proposed mechanism of Y^(3+)on chitin adsorbents for the powder and ***,in addition to these interactions,pore fil.ing/pore diffusion is the main mechanism of Y^(3+)removal.in the chitin *** aerogel.is efficient in concentrating 8 times the Y^(3+)from PG,a very compl.x *** compl.x chitin aerogel.Y^(3+)can be a secondary source of rare earth el.ments for other appl.cations.

The depl.yment of hydrogen as an energy carrier is found to be a vital.al.ernative fuel.for the future. It is expected that water el.ctrol.sis, powered by renewabl. energy sources, be abl. to scal.-up hydrogen production. However, the reaction kinetic of oxygen evol.tion reaction(OER) is a sl.ggish process, which predominantl. l.mits the efficiency of water el.ctrol.sis. This review recapitul.tes the recent progress and efforts made in the design and devel.pment of two sel.cted earth-abundant bimetal.ic el.ctrocatal.sts(Ni Co and Co Fe) for al.al.ne OER. Each bimetal.el.ctrocatal.st is thoroughl. outl.ned and discussed in five sub-sections, incl.ding bimetal.oxy) hydroxides, l.yered doubl. hydroxides(l.Hs) structures,oxides, composites, al.oy and nanostructured el.ctrocatal.sts, and assembl.d with ***, a brief introduction to an in situ/operando characterization techniques and advantages for monitoring the structure of the el.ctrocatal.sts is provided. Oxidative stress is one of the main mechanisms responsibl. for mal. *** conditions such as varicocel.,obesity,advanced age,and l.festyl. can l.ad to an increase in reactive oxygen species,causing an oxidative imbal.nce in the *** are sensitive to reactive oxygen species and require energy to carry out their main function of fertil.zingthe *** reactive oxygen species can affect sperm metabol.sm,l.ading to immobil.ty,impaired acrosome reaction,and cel.death,thereby impairing reproductive *** doubl.-bl.nd randomized study eval.ated the effect of suppl.mentation withl.carnitine,acetyl.l.carnitine,vitamins,and other nutrients on semen qual.ty in 104 infertil. patients with or without varicocel.,whil. al.o investigating the impact of factors such as obesity and advanced age on *** concentration significantl.increased in the suppl.mented group compared to the pl.cebo group(P=0.0186).Total.sperm count al.o significantl. increasedin the suppl.mented group(P=0.0117),as did sperm motil.ty(P=0.0120).The treatment had a positive effect on patients upto 35 years of age in terms of sperm concentration(P=0.0352),whil. a body mass index(BMI)above 25 kg m^(−2) had a negativeeffect on sperm concentration(P=0.0110).Resul.s were not showing a net benefit in stratifying patients in accordance withtheir BMI since sperm qual.ty increase was not affected by this *** concl.sion,antioxidant suppl.mentation may bebeneficial.for infertil. patients and has a more positive effect on younger patients with a normal.weight.

Tree wave migration across an el.vation gradient in the Al.ai Mountains,Siberia

The phenomenon of tree waves(hedges and ribbons) formation within the al.ine ecotone in Al.ai Mountains and its response to observed air temperature increase was considered. At the upper l.mit of tree growth Siberian pine(Pinus sibirica) forms hedges on windward sl.pes and ribbons on the l.eward ones. Hedges were formed by prevail.ng winds and oriented al.ng winds direction. Ribbons were formed by snow bl.wing and accumul.ting on the l.eward sl.pe and perpendicul.r to the prevail.ng winds, as wel. as to the el.vation gradient. Hedges were al.ays l.nked with microtopography features, whereas ribbons were not. Trees are migrating upward by waves and new ribbons and hedges are forming at or near tree l.ne, whereas at l.wer el.vations ribbons and hedges are being transformed into cl.sed forests. Time series of high-resol.tion satel.ite scenes(from 1968 to 2010) indicated an upsl.pe shift in the position ribbons averaged 155±26 m(or 3.7 m yr^(-1)) and crown cl.sure increased(about 35%–90%). The hedges advance was l.mited by poor regeneration establ.shment and was negl.gibl.. Regeneration within the ribbon zone was approximatel. 2.5 times(5060 vs 2120 ha^(-1)) higherthen within the hedges zone. During the l.st four decades, Siberian pine in both hedges and ribbons strongl. increased its growth increment, and recent tree growth rate for 50 year-ol. trees was about twice higher than those recorded for simil.rl.-aged trees at the beginning of the 20^(th) century. Hedges and ribbons are phenomena that are widespread within the southern and northern Siberian Mountains.
