Preservability of bull spermatozoa in Tris-egg yolk extender enriched with different concentrations of butylated hydroxytoluene

Objective:To explore the effect of BHT on cattle spermatozoa during cooling and ***: Pooled bull semen were diluted by Tris-Citrate-Fructose egg yolk (TCFY) diluent considered as control (0 BHT) and different concentrations of BHT (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 mM were prepared in ethanol in prewarmed (37℃) test tubes. The ethanol was allowed to evaporate so that, a thin crystallized layer of BHT was deposited on the inner surface of the tubes. Then extended semen was added into the tubes and incubated at 37℃ for 5 min to allow uptake of BHT by spermatozoa. The tubes were cooled slowly (approxima.ely for 2 h) up to 5℃ and equilibrated for 4 h. After equilibration, semen freezing process was carried out. Extended semen was subjected to evaluation (motility, alive sperm, intact sperm membrane (HOST) % and acrosome integrity) in both cooled and cryopreserved semen. Results:The result revealed that sperm motility of post-cooled spermatozoa improved (Pely. Alive sperm percent was significantly higher in all concentrations of BHT. Sperm abnormalities percent were significantly lower in concentrations of BHT 1 and 2 (11.2±0.2), (11.8±0.2)and (13.4±0.4), respectively. Sperm membrane integrity were significantly higher in BHT concentrations (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mM). It is exhibited that improved sperm motility in post-thawed frozen semen in the concentrations of BHT (1, 2, 3 and 4 mM) if compared to the control. The sperm membrane integrity were significantly improved at all concentrations of BHT. Acrosome integrity was significantly higher at BHT concentration 1 mM (81.80±0.57) and (76.00±2.05), ***: It could be concluded that some concentrations of BHT improved bull semen quality post-cooling and post-freezing.

Synthesis, Spectroscopic and Antimicrobial Investigations of Scandium(Ⅲ) Complexes with Four Kinds of Sulfa Drugs

Herein,this article was focused on the synthesis and discussed the spectroscopic characterizations of four new scandium(Ⅲ)sulfa-drug *** nomenclature and symbols of these drugs were sulfadimidine(sulp-1),sulfanilamide(sulp-2),sulfamethoxazole(sulp-3)and sulfadiazine(sulp-4).The microanalytical and spectroscopic analyses which utilized in this study were micro-analyses,magnetic,FT-IR,UV-Vis *** mid infrared spectra deduced that the four sulfa-drug chelates acts as a bidentate chelates with scandium(Ⅲ)ion via two nitrogen atoms of-NH2-Ar and-NH-SO2 ***,the FTIR spectra of Sc3+complexes referred to the existed of new medium weak bands in the range of 500~400 cm^-1 due to stretching vibration bands ofν(M-N).The elemental analysis technique confirmed the 1∶2 stoichiometry between Sc3+ions and sulp ligand with molecular formula[Sc(sulp)2(Cl)2]·*** room temperature,the results of magnetic measurements for the Sc(Ⅲ)complexes indicated that all of the synthesized complexes have a diamagnetic character with octahedral *** electronic spectra of the free sulfa-drug ligands shows band at 275 and 310 nm which are intraligand charge transfer *** electronic sbsorption spectra of the Sc3+complexes were recorded using DMSO *** spectra of complexes display bands within 275~388 nm,which attributed toπ-π*,n-π*and charge-transfer M-LCT electronic transitions,which strongly favors the octahedral geometry around Sc(Ⅲ)metal ions.1HNMR spectra of complexes referred to the downfield proton shifts of the-NH2 and NHSO2 groups,which supported the place of *** half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of the ScⅢcomplexes was assessed against the human hepato cellular carcinoma(HepG-2)tumor cell line.

Molecular and serological prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in pregnant women and sheep in Egypt

Objective: To investigate molecular and serological prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii(***) in pregnant women and sheep in ***: Blood samples collected from healthy 364 pregnant women and 170 sheep were investigated for *** antibodies and parasitemia using highly specific and sensitive surface antigen(TgSAG2) based enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(elISA)and real time-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results: Overall prevalence of *** was 51.76%, 17.65% in sheep, 33.79%, 11.81%in pregnant women, using elISA and RT-PCR *** differences in *** prevalence were observed on the basis of contact with cats or soil in pregnant women using either RT-PCR or *** pregnant women, a significant increase was detected in aged and those eating under-cooked mutton using simultaneous elISA/***: Consumption of under-cooked infected mutton is an important source of human infection and the combination of the two assays provide accurate and precise data during infection.

Naringenin suppresses NLRP3 inflammasome activation via the mRNA-208a signaling pathway in isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction

This report describes in vitro micropropagation of Boscia senegalensis,so-called famine foods,that helped the people in Darfur and Kordofan,Sudan survive during the 1984-1985 *** types of explants prepared from green mature zygotic embryos were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium augmented with 1-5 mg/L 6-benzyladenine (BA).The highest number of shoots per explant (14.3±0.9) was achieved on MS medium supplemented with 3 mg/L BA,while the highest shoot length [(3.5±0.4) cm] was obtained with 1 mg/L *** shoot cluster,when subcultured to its same medium,significantly increased the rate of shoot multiplication by the end of the third *** maximum mean number of shoots per explant (86.5±3.6) was produced after three multiplication cycles on 3 mg/L BA-supplemented *** vitro induced shoots were excised and rooted on half strength MS medium fortified with 0.25 mg/L indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) to obtain complete ***-regenerated plantlets obtained in vitro for the first time,were hardened and 95% survived under greenhouse conditions.

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Investigations of Four New Y(Ⅲ), Ge(Ⅳ), W(Ⅵ) and Si(Ⅳ) Penicillin Antibiotic Drug Complexes

A four new penicillinate complexes were prepared through the chemical interactio ns of penicillin potassium salt (Pin) with YCl 3, GeCl 4, WCl 6 and SiCl 4 m etal ions. These metal complexes were characterized using spectroscopic techniqu es (e.g. 1H-NMR, infrared, electronic UV-Vis) as well as elemental, cond uctivity, and magnetic measurements. The molar conductance values were highly, s howing their electrolytic nature. The magnetic and electronic study strongly rec ommends the octahedral geometry of all penicillinate complexes. A monomeric stru ctures of Pin complexes are proposed with octahedral coordinated metals ions. Th e metal ions are coordinated toward Pin as tridentate ligand through the amide a nd β-lactam carbonyls and a carboxylate group from penicillin. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of all the complexes, at concentrations in μg·mL^-1 , was screened against four bacterial pathogens, na.ely, Bacillus subtilis , Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa , and Staphylococcus aureus , and two kinds of fungi Aspergillus flavus and Candida albicans showed better activi ty compared to parent drug and control drug. The anti-cancer inhibition of the tungsten(Ⅵ) complex was assessed against the human hepato cellular carcinoma (H epG-2) tumor cell line with IC50 value is 646 μg·mL^-1 .

Promising supercapacitor electrodes based immobilization of proteins onto macroporous Ni foam materials

Immobilizing biocomponents on solid surfaces is a critical step in the development of new devices for future biological, medical, and elec- tronic applications. Therefore, numerous integrated films were recently developed by immobilizing different proteins or enzymes on electrode surfaces. In this work, hemeproteins were sa.ely immobilized onto macroporous nickel-based electrodes while maintaining their functionality. Such modified electrodes showed interesting pseudo-capacitive behavior. Among hemeproteins, hemoglobin （Hb） film has a higher electro- chemical performance and greater charge/discharge cycling stability than myoglobin （Mb） and cytochrome C （CytC）. The heme group in an alkaline medium could induce the formation of superoxides on the electrode surface. These capacitive features of hemeprotein-Ni electrode were related to strong binding sites between hemeproteins and porous Ni electrode, the accumulation of superoxide or radicals on the Ni sur- face, and facile electron transfer and electrolyte diffusion through the three-dimensional macroporous network. Thus, these new protein-based supercapacitors have potential use in free-standing platform technology for the development of implantable energy-storage devices.

Tuberculosis/toxoplasmosis co-infection in Egyptian patients:A reciprocal impact

Objective:To assess the concurrent toxoplasmosis infection in Egyptian TB patients and the impact of each infection on the other in terms of increased severity of TB or reactivation of latent Toxoplasma ***:Three hundred suspected pulmonary TB cases were initially screened for TB using direct Ziehl Neelsen staining and Lowenstein Jensen culture of their *** resistance was detected by Xpert MTB/RIF *** group of 30 age and sex-matched healthy individuals negative for TB was included for *** subjects were further assessed for serum levels of anti-Toxoplasma Ig G antibodies and malondialdehyde(MDA).Results:Forty three confirmed TB-infected patients including 10(23.3%)rifampicin-resistant patients were *** toxoplasmosis was found to be significantly higher among TB patients(OR=2.709;95%CI:1.034-7.099;Pels of anti-Toxoplasma IgG antibodies and MDA were significantly higher among TB patients than the control ***,serum level of MDA was significantly higher among TB/Toxoplasma co-infected patients as compared to toxoplasmosis free-TB *** positive correlation was detected between serum levels of anti-Toxoplasma Ig G and MDA in TB patients(r=0.75,P=0.001).Conclusions:Among pulmonary TB Egyptian patients,there is a considerable prevalence of *** of pulmonary tuberculosis could be increased by Toxoplasma co-infection.

Integrative analysis of the metabolome and transcriptome reveals seed germination mechanism in Punica granatum L.

We conducted an integrative system biology of metabolome and transcriptome profile analyses during pomegranate(Punica granatum L.) seed germination and utilized a weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA) to describe the functionality and complexity of the physiological and morphogenetic processes as well as gene expression and metabolic differences during seed germination stages. In total, 489 metabolites were detected, including 40 differentially accumulated metabolites. The transcriptomic analysis showed the expression of 6 984 genes changed significantly throughout the whole germination process. Using WGCNA, we identified modules related to the various seed germination stages and hub genes. In the initial imbibition stage(stage 1), the pivotal genes involved in RNA transduction and the glycolytic pathway were most active, while in the sprouting stage(stage 4), the pivotal genes were involved in multiple metabolic pathways. In terms of secondary metabolic pathways, we found flavonoid 4-reductase genes of anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway are most significantly affected during pomegranate seed germination, while the flavonol synthase gene was mainly involved in the regulation of isoflavonoid biosynthesis.
