Korean red ginseng promotes hippocampal neurogenesis in mice

Neurogenesis in the adult hippocampus plays a major role in cognitive ability of animals including learning and *** red ginseng (KRG) has long been known as a medicinal herb with the potential to improve learning and memory;however,the mechanisms are still ***,we evaluated whether KRG can promote cognitive function and enhance neurogenesis in the ***-week-old male C57BL/6 mice received 50 mg/kg of 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU) intraperitoneally and 100 mg/kg of KRG or vehicle orally once a day for 14 ***,Rotarod and Morris water maze tests were performed and the brains were collected after the last behavioral *** in the numbers of BrdU- and BrdU/ doublecortin (DCX;a marker for neuronal precursor cells and immature neurons)-positive cells in the dentate gyrus and the gene expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (a marker for cell differentiation),cerebral dopamine neurotrophic factor and ciliary neurotrophic factor in the hippocampus were then ***-treated mice came down the pole significantly faster and stood on the rotarod longer than vehicle-treated *** Morris water maze test showed that KRG administration enhanced the learning and memory abilities *** also significantly increased BrdU- and BrdU/DCX-positive cells in the dentate gyrus as well as the proliferating cell nuclear antigen,cerebral dopamine neurotrophic factor and ciliary neurotrophic factor mRNA expression levels in the hippocampus compared to *** of KRG promotes learning and memory abilities,possibly by enhancing hippocampal *** study was approved by the Pusan National University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (approval ***-2016-1071) on January 19,2016.

Objective:Mitophagy is known to contribute towards progression of Parkinson’s *** red ginseng(KRG)is a widely used medicinal herb in East Asia,and recent studies have reported that KRG prevents 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium ion(MPP^(+))-induced cell *** study was undertaken to investigate whether KRG suppresses MPP^(+)-induced apoptosis and ***:SH-SY5 Y cells were incubated with KRG for 24 h,and subsequently exposed to MPP^(+).The MPP^(+)-induced cell death was confirmed with the 3-(4,5-dimethyl-thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay,and the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick end-labeling *** in the structure and function of mitochondria were confirmed using mitotracker,Mito SOX red mitochondrial superoxide indicator,parkin,and phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten-induced putative kinase 1(PINK1)immunofluorescent *** blotting was performed to evaluate the expression of apoptosis-related factors in whole cells,including Bax,Bcl-2 and cleaved caspase-3,and mitophagy-related factors in the mitochondrial fraction,including cytochrome c,parkin,PINK1,translocase of the outer membrane 20(TOM20),p62 and Beclin ***:MPP^(+)induced cell death by cytochrome c release and caspase-3 activation;however,this effect was suppressed by KRG’s regulation of the expressions of Bcl-2 and ***,MPP^(+)exposure increased the mitochondrial expressions of parkin,PINK1,Beclin 1 and p62,and decreased TOM20,cytochrome c and Bcl-2 *** MPP^(+)-induced changes in the mitochondrial fraction were attenuated by treatment with ***:KRG effectively prevents MPP^(+)-induced SH-SY5 Y cell death by regulating cytochrome c release from mitochondria and PINK1/parkin-mediated mitophagy,through regulation of the Bcl-2 family.

Visible light induced catalytic properties of CdSe-graphene nanocomposites and study of its bactericidal effect

A novel composite, CdSe-graphene, was synthesized using facile hydrothermal method. The structural characteristics studies of the synthesized composites were investigated by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscope （SEM）, transmission electron microscope （TEM）, Brunauer, Emmett, Teller specific surface area （BET） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. The photocatalytic activity was investigated by the degradation of methylene blue as standard dye. The degradation of M8 was calculated based on the decrease in concentration of the dye with respect to regular time intervals. The reusability tests were done to investigate the stability of the used catalysts. Additionally the antibacterial activity of CdSe-graphene was also investigated using bacterium Streptococcus aureus （S. aureus）.

AIM:To compare the clinical results of femtosecond(FS)laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK)in high myopic patients and low myopic ***:This study included 212 myopic eyes undergoing LASIK using a VisuMax 500kHz FS *** treated eyes were assigned to one of two groups according to preoperative manifest spherical refraction:low myopia group(A,>-4.0 D)and high myopia group(B,0.50 D in spherical equivalent from Iwk to 6mo postoperatively(P=0.005).In terms of postoperative astigmatism,each group had 89.1%and 76.6%within±0.50 D,respectively and there was significant difference(P=0.006).Group A tends to induce smaller HOAs than group ***:FS LASIK is effective and safe for correcting high myopia as well as low ***,high myopic eyes showed more postoperative astigmatism and HOAs which affect visual acuity.

虽然韩国《民法》中的土地和建筑物属于不同的所有权客体,但两者基本上适用相同的物权变动法理。然而,就部分所有权而言,土地和建筑物之间存在一定差异。土地可仅依当事人的意思及分割登记而实现对其一部分之所有。相比之下,建筑物却不能仅凭当事人的意思对其一部分进行分割和所有。只有当建筑物的相应部分具备独立性时,才能在将该建筑物的一部分登记为独立所有权的客体后,实现受法律保护的区分所有。上述内容所涉及的规定建筑物部分所有权的韩国法律,即为《关于集合建筑物的所有及管理的法律》。但由于韩国法院担心区分所有权的泛滥可能造成不动产所有权秩序的混乱,因此对《集合建筑物法》项下建筑物之一部分的独立性要件采严格审核原则,其结果导致区分所有权不会轻易得到认定。但是,综观区分所有的具体事例,从平衡性和比例性的角度来看,则会产生法院拒绝提供保护是否正确的疑问。正是基于对这种情况提供保护之必要性的考虑,遂有《集合建筑物法》第1条之2的新设,以便将此等情形中的一部分作为法律所保护的对象。但即使在法律修订后,韩国法院基本上仍对区分所有权的认定持消极态度。对此,试将区分所有权的保护问题与因韩国不动产物权变动登记主义造成的事实所有权的保护问题相联系,提出扩大保护之必要。

Design of DC-DC Converter for Flash Memory IPs

A DC-DC converter for flash memory IPs performing erasing by the FN (Fowler-Nordheim) tunneling and programming by the CHEI (channel hot electron injection) is designed in this paper. For the DC-DC converter for flash memory IPs using a dual voltage of VDD (=1.5V±0.15V)/VRD (=3.1V±0.1V), a scheme of using VRD (Read Voltage) instead of VDD is proposed to reduce the pumping stages and pumping capacitances of its charge pump circuit. VRD (=3.1V±0.1V) is a regulated voltage by a voltage regulator with an external voltage of 5V, which is used as the WL activation voltage in the read mode and an input voltage of the charge pump. The designed DC-DC converter outputs positive voltages of VP6V (=6V), VP8V (=8V) and VP9V(=9V);and a negative voltage of? VM8V (=-8V) in the write mode.

Objective:To obtain more representative biopsy specimens in glioblastoma,we combined MR stereotactic planning with 11C-methionine PET and analyzed the pathologic ***:From December 2009 to October 2010,we performed stereotactic biopsies in 12 patients with radiologically heterogeneous,ring-enhanced *** biopsied the MR enhanced lesions having higher 11C-methionine uptake and the MR non-enhanced lesions having lower uptake and analyzed differences in pathologic diagnoses between *** pathologic findings,including cell density,Ki-67 LI,microvessel density,and number of endothelial proliferations,were analyzed as correlating factors of the degree of 11C-methionine uptake（T/N ratio）.We performed immunohistochemical staining for L-amino acid transporter 1（LAT1） to demonstrate the correlation with T/N ratio and the pattern of ***:The final diagnosis of each specimen was *** T/N ratio correlated statistically with enhancement（p = 0.000）.The diagnostic failure rate was 33.3%（4/12 patients） when we selected only one MR enhanced,high 11C-methionine uptake lesion,and 40%（4/10 patients） when we selected one MR non-enhanced,low 11C-methionine uptake *** T/N ratio showed a statistical correlation with cell density depending on the degree of necrosis,LAT1 immunopositivity,microvessel density,number of endothelial proliferations,and Ki-67 LI（p = 0.002,0.032,0.057,0.24 and 0.741,respectively）.LAT1 was localized in the tumor cells,vascular endothelium,and the vicinity of endothelial ***:Multiple stereotactic biopsies combined with enhanced MR images and 11Cmethionine PET could provide the diagnostic yield in glioblastoma,which mostly differing cell densities depending on the degree of necrosis.

A New Encryption Mechanism Supporting the Update of Encrypted Data for Secure and Efficient Collaboration in the Cloud Environment

With the rise of remote collaboration,the demand for advanced storage and collaboration tools has rapidly ***,traditional collaboration tools primarily rely on access control,leaving data stored on cloud servers vulnerable due to insufficient *** paper introduces a novel mechanism that encrypts data in‘bundle’units,designed to meet the dual requirements of efficiency and security for frequently updated collaborative *** bundle includes updated information,allowing only the updated portions to be reencrypted when changes *** encryption method proposed in this paper addresses the inefficiencies of traditional encryption modes,such as Cipher Block Chaining(CBC)and Counter(CTR),which require decrypting and re-encrypting the entire dataset whenever updates *** proposed method leverages update-specific information embedded within data bundles and metadata that maps the relationship between these bundles and the plaintext *** utilizing this information,the method accurately identifies the modified portions and applies algorithms to selectively re-encrypt only those *** approach significantly enhances the efficiency of data updates while maintaining high performance,particularly in large-scale data *** validate this approach,we conducted experiments measuring execution time as both the size of the modified data and the total dataset size *** show that the proposed method significantly outperforms CBC and CTR modes in execution speed,with greater performance gains as data size ***,our security evaluation confirms that this method provides robust protection against both passive and active attacks.
