The Mining of Citrus EST-SNP and Its Application in Cultivar Discrimination

Single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） are the most abundant sequence variations found in plant genomes and are widely used as molecular genetic markers in cultivar identification and genetic diversity studies. The objective of this study was to identify SNP markers useful for discrimination of citrus cultivars, since large numbers of expressed sequence tags （ESTs） of sweet orange are available from the National Center for Biotechnology Information （NCBI）. We now have the opportunity to discover SNP markers suitable for determining the haplotypes with which to distinguish very closely related cultivars and to assess genetic diversity within or between related species of citrus. SNPs and small insertions/deletions （Indels） from ESTs of sweet orange and satsuma were identified by the in silico SNP discovery strategy. 55 296 EST sequences of sweet orange and 2 575 of satsuma retrieved from the NCBI repository were mined for potential SNPs. Cleaved amplified polymorphic sequences （CAPS） and sequencing approaches were used to validate putative SNPs in a sample of 30 citrus accessions. A total of 3 348 putative SNPs were identified based on the abundance of sequences and haplotype cosegregation. Of these 3 348 SNPs, the transitions, transversions and Indels ratios were 47.9, 36.1 and 16.0%, respectively. The SNPs occurred on average at a frequency of 1 per 164 bp in the coding region of citrus. 14 SNPs were randomly selected and genotyped according to 30 citrus accessions including 23 accessions of sweet orange; 11 SNPs displayed polymorphism with an average polymorphism information content （PIC） of 0.20 among 30 citrus accessions. The genetic diversity present in sweet orange was low, so the 14 SNP markers failed to discriminate different cultivars of sweet orange, but they did succeed in distinguishing accessions of inter-species of citrus. Preparation and characterization of a novel injectable strontium-containing calcium phosphate cement with collagen

Purpose： To develop a novel injectable strontium-containing calcium phosphate cement with collagen. Methods： A novel calcium phosphate bone cement （CPC） was prepared with the addition of strontium element, collagenl, and modified starch; the injectability, solidification time, microstructure, phase composition, compressive strength, anti-collapsibility and histological properties of material were evaluated. Results： The results showed that the material could be injected with an excellent performance; the modified starch significantly improved the anti-washout property of cement; with the liquid to solid ratio of 0.3, the largest compressive strength of cement was obtained （48.0 MPa _＋ 2.3 MPa）; histological examination of repair tissue showed that the bone was repaired after 16 weeks; the degradation of cement was consistent with the new bone growth. Conclusion： A novel injectable collagen-strontium-containing CPC with excellent compressive strength and suitable setting time was prepared, with addition of modified starch. The CPC showed a good anti-washout property and the degradation time of the cement met with the new bone growing. This material is supposed to be used in orthopedic and maxillofacial surgery for bone defects.

Construction of poly-naphthalocyanine linked by [4]-radialene-like structures on silver surfaces

Cyclic-conjugated linkages between planar-macrocydic molecules contribute to the robustness of the two-dimensional (2D) polymerization and extension of π-interactions. The fabrication of such linkages in 2D polymers remains challenging. Combining scanning tunneling microscope (STM) measurements and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we demonstrate a linear polymerization of metal-free naphthalocyanine (NPc) molecules with [4]-radialene-like linkages on silver surfaces. Experimentally, by depositing NPc molecules on the Ag(110) surface and subsequent annealing up to 750 K, one-dimensional polymers are constructed along the [\(1\overline 1 0\)] direction. High-resolution STM images show a stem-leaf-like feature. STM simulations based on a linear polymer of NPc molecules linked by four-membered carbon rings, [4]-radialene-like structure, agree well with the experimental observations. DFT calculations reveal that the polymerization process includes detaching two-terminal H atoms of NPc molecules along [\(1\overline 1 0\)] direction, then bonding with a neighboring dehydrogenated NPc molecule by forming a four-membered ring. The dehydrogenation process can be promoted by on-surface impurities such as additional H atoms. Similar polymerizations have been achieved on Ag(111) surfaces in an amorphous way. Moreover, the energy gap of the NPc molecule decreases after linear polymerization, suggesting a red-shift for its optical absorption/scattering spectrum. Our study offers a new route to polymerize conjugated molecules with extended planar π-interactions.

Fabrication of large-scale graphene/2D-germanium heterostructure by intercalation

We report a large-scale, high-quality heterostructure composed of vertically-stacked graphene and two-dimensional(2D) *** heterostructure is constructed by the intercalation-assisted *** first synthesize large-scale,single-crystalline graphene on Ir(111) surface and then intercalate germanium at the interface of graphene and Ir(111).The intercalated germanium forms a well-defined 2D layer with a 2 × 2 superstructure with respect to Ir(111).Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the 2D germanium has a double-layer *** characterizations show that the 2D germanium effectively weakens the interaction between graphene and Ir substrate, making graphene more like the intrinsic *** experiments of low-energy electron diffraction, scanning tunneling microscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) confirm the formation of large-scale and high-quality graphene/2D-germanium vertical *** integration of graphene with a traditional 2D semiconductor provides a platform to explore new physical phenomena in the future.

Using graphene to suppress the selenization of Pt for controllable fabrication of monolayer PtSe2

Platinum diselenide(PtSe2)is a promising transition metal dichalcogenide(TMDC)material with unique *** is necessary to find a controllable fabrication method to bridge PtSe2 with other two-dimensional(2D)materials for practical applications,which has rarely been reported so ***,we report that the selenization of Pt(111)can be suppressed to form a Se intercalated layer,instead of a PtSe2 monolayer,by inducing confined conditions with a precoating of *** with graphene-island samples demonstrate that the monolayer PtSe2 can be controllably fabricated only on the bare Pt surface,while the Se intercalated layer is formed underneath graphene,as verified by atomic-resolution observations with scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM)and scanning tunneling microscopy(STM).In addition,the orientation of the graphene island shows a negligible influence on the Se intercalated layer induced by the graphene *** extending the application of 2D confined reactions,this work provides a new method to control the fabrication and pattern 2D materials during the fabrication process.

Back contact modification of the optoelectronic device with transition metal dichalcogenide VSe2 film drives solar cell efficiency

VSe2 is with high electrical conductivity and high work function,thus it is beneficial for the carrier transport in the optoelectronic ***,the performance and mechanism of its effect on the photoelectronic devices conversion efficiency is still beyond *** this work,we fabricate VSe2 film between back contact and absorber layer Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4(CZTSSe)*** demonstrate that the VSe2 film in back contact region increases solar cell efficiency by 39%.Besides improving the carrier transport in the back contact region,the increasing can also be attributed to the reduction of the decomposition reaction of CZTSSe during the nucleation of CZTSSe as VSe2 fabricated between back contact and absorber *** present work not only provides an effective method to improve the performance of the optoelectronic device,but also shows an attractive application of metallic TMDs in optoelectronic device and solar cell energy generation.

Epitaxially grown monolayer VSe2： an air-stable magnetic two-dimensional material with low work function at edges

Recent experimental breakthroughs open up new opportunities for magnetism in few-atomic-layer twodimensional(2 D) materials, which makes fabrication of new magnetic 2 D materials a fascinating ***, we report the growth of monolayer VSe_2 by molecular beam epitaxy(MBE) method. Electronic properties measurements by scanning tunneling spectroscopy(STS) method revealed that the asgrown monolayer VSe_2 has magnetic characteristic peaks in its electronic density of states and a lower work-function at its edges. Moreover, air exposure experiments show air-stability of the monolayer VSe_2. This high-quality monolayer VSe_2, a very air-inert 2 D material with magnetism and low edge work function, is promising for applications in developing next-generation low power-consumption, high efficiency spintronic devices and new electrocatalysts.

Orientational growth behavior and mechanism of delta(δ)phase precipitation in cold-rolled Inconel 718 alloy during heat treatment

Due to the important role ofδphase's quantity and morphology in the mechanical and fatigue properties of Inconel 718 alloy and its components,it is necessary to renew insights into the effect of cold deformation on theδphase precipitation,especially on the morphology ***,the nucleation and growth behavior ofδphase in cold-rolled Inconel 718 alloy during aging were *** results show that the precipitation rate and volume fraction ofδphase increase with increasing the cold rolling reduction from 10%to 50%.The volume fraction ofδphase reaches equilibrium after 5 h,remaining at 5.98%,6.52%,and 6.79%under different rolling reductions(10%,30%,and 50%),*** nucleation ofδphase mainly occurs on different sites(grain boundaries,new twin boundaries and old twin boundaries)under 10%rolling reduction,whileδphase mainly nucleates on the new grain boundaries of static recrystallization due to 50%rolling *** the growth ofδphase undergoes a process of alternate orientation growth from spherical(nucleation)→short rod(longitudinal orientation growth)→short rod(radial orientation growth)→dynamic *** 10%rolling reduction,δphase tends to grow into the matrix,while under 50%rolling reduction,the orientation grows faster and is easily affected by the grain boundary curvature.
