Acetylacetone effectively controlled the secondary metabolites of Microcystis aeruginosa under simulated sunlight irradiation

Inactivation of cyanobacterial cells and simultaneous control of secondary metabolites is of significant necessity for the treatment of cyanobacteria-laden ***(AcAc)has been reported a specific algicide to inactivate Microcystis aeruginosa(***)and an effective light activator to degrade *** study systematically investigated the photodegradation ability of AcAc under xenon(Xe)irradiation on the secondary metabolites of ***,mainly algal organic matter(AOM),especially toxic microcystin-lR(MC-lR).Results showed that AcAc outperformed H_(2)O_(2)in destructing the protein-like substances,humic acid-like matters,aromatic proteins and fulvic-like substances of *** MC-lR(250μg/l),0.05 mmol/l AcAc attained the same degradation efficiency(87.0%)as 0.1mmol/l H_(2)O_(2).The degradation mechanism of Xe/AcAc might involve photo-induced energy/electron transfer and formation of carbon center *** conditions(pH>9.0)were detrimental to the photoactivity of AcAc,corresponding to the observed degradation rate constant(k_(1)value)of MC-lR drastically decreasing to 0.0013 min^(-1)as solution pH exceeded *** PO_(4)^(3-)and HCO_(3)^(-)ions had obvious inhibition effects,whereas NO_(3)^(-)slightly improved k_(1)value from 0.0277 min^(-1)to 0.0321 min^(-1).The presence of AOM did not significantly inhibit MC-lR degradation in Xe/AcAc *** addition,the biological toxicity of MC-lR was greatly reduced after *** results demonstrated that AcAc was an alternative algicidal agent to effectively inactivate algal cells and simultaneously control the secondary metabolites after cell ***,the concentration and irradiation conditions should be further optimized in practical application.

To investigate the dissolution behaviors of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions in CaO-5wt%MgO-SiO_(2)-30wt%Al_(2)O_(3)-TiO_(2)system ladle slags,confocal scanning laser microscopy was conducted on the slags with different TiO_(2)contents(0-10wt%),and scanning electron microscopy was performed to study the interfacial reaction between Al_(2)O_(3)and this slag *** results disclose that the dissolution of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions does not result in the formation of new phases at the boundary between the slag and the *** TiO_(2)-bearing and TiO_(2)-free ladle slags,there is no difference in the dissolution mechanism of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions at steelmaking *** layer diffusion is found as the controlling step of the dissolution of Al_(2)O_(3),and the diffusion coefficient is in the range of 4.18×10^(-10)to 2.18×10^(-9)m^(2)/s at 1450-1500℃.Compared with the solubility of Al_(2)O_(3)in the slags,slag viscosity and temperature play a more profound role in the dissolution of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions.A lower viscosity and a lower melting point of the slags are beneficial for the *** addition of TiO_(2)(e.g.,5wt%)in ladle slags can enhance the dissolution of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions because of the low viscosity and melting point of the slags,while excessive addition of TiO_(2)(e.g.,10wt%)shows the opposite trend.

The biosecurity hazards caused by pathogenic fungus have been widely *** the long-term coexistence of eukaryotic pathogens and quorum sensing bacteria in different habitats in environments,we hypothesized that they have social interactions via signal *** this work,we firstly discovered the well-known bacterial signal molecules play an adverse role in the cell morphology and metabolism in a model pathogen Trichosporon asahii.N-Tetradecanoyl-l-homoserine lactone(C14-HSl)was discovered to increase pathogen hazards of ***,which limited mycel.um by 52%,but enhanced cell aggregation by 93%.Higher fluorescence intensity of tryptophan(59%)and aromatic protein(2-fold)contents after the treatment of C14-HSl,indicating that aromatic proteins helped aggregate Trichosporon and showed *** analysis revealed that C14-HSl.upregulated the shikimate pathway(above1-fold)located in downstream of tricarboxylic acid cycle,which contributed to the synthesis of more aromatic proteins and the formation of larger *** limited mycelial growth of *** attributed to the up-regulated expressions of cell cycle *** fungal transboundary response to bacterial C14-HSl was controlled by signal transduction *** study provides new insights into the co-evolution of bacterial and pathogenic fungi in microecosystems.

The creation of controlled-release urea (CRu) is a potent substitute for conventional fertilizers in order to preserve the availability of nitrogen (N) in soil,prevent environmental pol.ution,and move toward green *** main objectives of this study were to assess the impacts of CRu’s full application on maize production and to clarify the connection between the nutrient release pattern of CRu and maize nutrient *** order to learn more about the effects of CRu application on maize yields,N uptake,mineral N (N_(min)) dynamics,N balance in soil-crop systems,and economic returns,a series of field experiments were carried out in 2018–2020 in Dalian City,liaoning Province,*** were 4 different treatments in the experiments:no N fertilizer input (control,CK);application of common urea at 210 kg ha^(-1)(u),the ideal fertilization management level for the study site;application of pol.urethane-coated urea at the same N input rate as u (PCu);and application of PCu at a 20% reduction in N input rate (0.8PCu).Our findings showed that using CRu (i.e.,PCu and 0.8 PCu) may considerably increase maize N absorption,maintain maize yields,and increase N use efficiency (NuE) compared to *** grain yield showed considerable positive correlations with total N uptake in leaf in u and 0.8 PCu,but negative correlations with that in PCu,indicating that PCu caused excessive maize absorption while 0.8 PCu could achieve a better yield response to N ***,PCu was able to maintain N fertilizer in the soil profile 0–20 cm away from the fertilization point,and higher N_(min)content was observed in the 0–20 cm soil layer at various growth stages,particularly at the middle and late growing stages,optimizing the temporal and spatial distributions of N_(min).Additionally,compared to that in u,the apparent N loss rate in PCu was reduced by 36.2%,and applying CRu (PCu and 0.8 PCu) increased net profit by 8.5% to 15.2% with less labor and fertilization *** was co

Terahertz (THz) wave manipulation, especially the beam deflection, plays an essential role in various applications, such as next-generation communication, space exploration, and high-resolution imaging. Current THz optical components and devices are hampered by their large bulk sizes and passive responses, limiting the development of high-performance, miniaturized THz microsystems. Tunable metasurfaces offer a powerful dynamic optical platform for controlling the propagation of electromagnetic waves. In this article, we presented a mechanically tunable metasurface (MTM), which can achieve terahertz beam deflection and vary the intensity of the anomal.us reflected terahertz wave by changing the air gap between the metallic resonator (MR) array with phase discontinuities and Au ground plane. The absence of lossy spacer materials substantially enhances deflection efficiency. The device was fabricated by a combination of the surface and bulk-micromachining processes. The THz beam steering capability was characterized using terahertz time domain spectroscopy. When the air gap is 50 μm, the maximum deflection coefficient reaches 0.60 at 0.61 THz with a deflection angle of ~44.5°, consistent with theoretical predictions. We further established an electrically tunable miniaturized THz device for dynamic beam steering by introducing a micro voice coil motor to control the air gap continuously. It is shown that our designed MTM demonstrates a high modulation depth of deflection coefficient (~ 62.5%) in the target steered angle at the operating frequency. Our results showcase the potential of the proposed MTM as a platform for high-efficiency THz beam manipulation.
