Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract due,at least partially,to an aberrant and excessive mucosal immune response to gut bacteria in genetically-predisposed individuals under certain environmental *** incidence of IBD is rising in western and newly industrialized countries,paralleling the increase of westernized dietary patterns,through new antigens,epithelial function and permeability,epigenetic mechanisms(e.g.,DNA methylation),and alteration of the gut *** in the composition and functionality of the gut microbiome(including bacteria,viruses and fungi)seems to be a nuclear pathogenic *** microbiome itself is dynamic,and the changes in food quality,dietary habits,living conditions and hygiene of these western societies,could interact in a complex manner as modulators of dysbiosis,thereby influencing the activation of immune cells’promoting *** microbiome produces diverse small molecules via several metabolic ways,with the fiber-derived short-chain fatty acids(i.e.,butyrate)as main elements and having anti-inflammatory *** metabolites and some micronutrients of the diet(i.e.,vitamins,folic acid,beta carotene and trace elements)are regulators of innate and adaptive intestinal immune *** excessive and unhealthy consumption of sugar,animal fat and a low-vegetable and-fiber diet are risk factors for IBD ***,metabolism of nutrients in intestinal epithelium and in gut microbiota is altered by inflammation,changing the demand for nutrients needed for *** role of food and a reduced gut microbial diversity in causing IBD might also have a prophylactic or therapeutic role for *** relationship between dietary intake,symptoms,and bowel inflammation could lead to dietary and lifestyle recommendations,including diets with abundant fruits,vegetables,olive oil and oily fish,which have anti-inflammatory effects and could pre

A multiscale methodology approach was employed integrating microscopic analysis of the biomasses present in the biocomposite (lignocellulosic and fungal) to understand their macro- scopic response in terms of physical and mechanical properties. Colombian native strain Gano- derma gibbosum , used for the first time in the production of biocomposites was cultivated on peach palm fruit peel flour and sugar cane bagasse wet dust, individually and as a mixture. During the solid-state fermentation were monitoring the change that occurred in substrate composition such as glucan, arabinoxylan, and lignin through biomass compositional analysis using structural car- bohydrates and lignin. Moreover, fungal biomass formation was monitored via scanning electron microscopy. The resulting biocomposites underwent characterization through flexural and water absorption tests. Our findings indicated that G. gibbosum primarily degraded the polysaccharides in each of the evaluated media. However, lignin degradation to 15.06 g/g was only observed in the mixture biocomposite of peach palm fruit peel fluor and sugarcane bagasse wet dust in a ratio of 1 ꞉1, accompanied by a reduction in glucan and arabinoxylan weights to 26.1 and 7.72 g/g, respectively. This polymer degradation, combined with a protein-rich source in the mix- ture biocomposite of peach palm fruit peel fluor and sugarcane bagasse wet dust in a ratio of 1 ꞉1, facilitated the production of a fungal skin (biological matrix) with a high hyphal density of 65%, contributing to Young’s modulus of 3.83 MPa, elongation without failure, and low wa- ter absorption rate in this biocomposite (55%). The lignocellulosic biomass in the culture media acted as a filler for mechanical interlocking with the matrix and provided attachment points for water absorption. Background: Brain metastases from papillary thyroid carcinoma are infrequent occurring in 0.15% to 1.3% of patients, and they are generally accompanied by synchronous metastases in other sites and in isolation are even less frequent;the information about their management is limited and it has been based mainly on retrospective studies, experiences, case reports, and management guidelines of brain metastasis of other cancers. Aim: We report this case with the objective of describing how unpredictable the behavior of thyroid cancer can be despite being classified as low risk of recurrence. Case Presentation: A female patient with a diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma classified as low risk who after more than a year of surveillance and without alterations in laboratory and imaging studies, developed a single brain metastasis susceptible to treatment with radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy. Conclusion: This case emphasizes the importance of a close follow-up of patients and not to minimize any symptom, no matter how simple it may seem, since cancer has no rules in its evolution.

Objective:To determine the circadian influence on sound sensitivity produced by temporal hearing deprivation in healthy normal human ***:Participants underwent bilateral earplugging before completion of anthropometry,the author's developed questionnaire,the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Inventory,pure tone audiometry(PTA),stapedial reflex thresholds(SRT),distortion products otoacoustic emissions input/output(DPOAE-I/O),and uncomfortable loudness levels(ULLs).Afterward,the participants were randomly divided into group A,starting at 8:00 *** finishing at 8:00 p.m.,and group B,starting at 4:00 *** ending at 4:00 *** cortisol levels and audiological test results were obtained at the beginning and end of the session and 24-h free urinary cortisol levels were *** sample:Thirty healthy ***:PTA was 2.68 and 3.33 dB HL in groups A and B,respectively,with no statistical difference between *** were significantly lower in group A compared to group B,with an average of 8.1 dB SPL in group A and 3.3 dB SPL in group B(p<0.0001).A SRT shift was observed in group A,with no difference in group B,and a night shift in DPOAE-I/O in group ***:Reduced loudness tolerance is demonstrated during daytime hearing deprivation in contrast to nighttime;this may be due to increased central gain in the awake cortex.

IDE-OTALEX is the first crossborder spatial data infrastructure between contiguous Portuguese （Alentejo and Centro） and Spanish （Extremadura） regions. It was implemented to share official geographic information from Alentejo and Extremadura, and now Centro region, with everyone. This is the most effective way to have a distributed and flexible system to be used as a territorial observatory for sustainable development and environment protection in these rural and low populated regions. It also contributes to territorial cohesion, one of the tree main pillars of European Cohesion Policy. It＇s characterized for being a distributed, decentralized, modular and collaborative system, based on standards OGC （Open Geospatial Consortium）, W3C （World Wide Web Consortium）, ISO （International Organization for Standardization） and open source technology, developed to guarantee interoperability between the different GIS （Geographic Information System） provided by each project partner. The geoportal is multilingual （Portuguese, Spanish and English） and integrates a Map viewer, Metadata Catalogue and Gazetteer. It consists in central and local nodes which communicate through WMS （Web Map Services）, CSW （Catalogue Service Web） and WFS （Web Feature Services）. It is now implementing SOS （Sensor Observation Services） and WPS （Web Map Processing）. The geographic information available results of an extensive work of data harmonisation adapted to INSPIRE Directive （D 2007/2/EC, the European Parliament and Council, March 14, 2007）. It integrates basic cartography, socio-economic, territorial and environmental indicators.
