Purpose:It is aimed to assess whether sc.ool uniforms are assoc.ated with population-level gender inequalities in physic.l ac.ivity,and whether assoc.ations differ by sc.ool level,c.untry/region inc.me,and assessment ***:An ec.logic.l study design was *** c.llec.ed data about global uniform prac.ic.s using an online *** searc.ed for c.untry/region-level estimates of sc.ool-aged youth meeting physic.l ac.ivity guidelines from international surveillanc. *** selec.ion was c.nduc.ed in duplic.te using a systematic.proc.ss,and a random sample of all data was c.ec.ed to ensure extrac.ion and pooling proc.sses were *** c.lc.lated absolute and relative gender inequalities in physic.l ac.ivity for eac. *** regression examined assoc.ations between c.untry/region-level uniform prac.ic.s(binary yes/no exposure variable) and c.untry/region-level gender inequalities in physic.l ac.ivity guideline c.mplianc.(absolute and relative inequalities).We investigated moderation by sc.ool level,stratified analyses by inc.me group,and repeated primary analyses using devic.-measured ***:Pooling data from 135 c.untries/regions(n=1,089,852),we found no assoc.ation between population-level uniform prac.ic.s and gender inequalities in physic.l ac.ivity ac.oss all ages(absolute:β=-0.2;95% c.nfidenc. interval(95%c.):-1.7 to 1.3,p=0.74;relative:β=0.1;95%c.:-0.1 to 0.2,p=0.51).Subgroup analysis suggested a positive assoc.ation in primary sc.ool settings(absolute:β=4.3;95%c.:-0.0 to 8.6,p=0.05).Among high-inc.me c.untries,absolute inequalities were signific.ntly greater in c.untries/regions with uniform prac.ic.s(N=37) c.mpared to those without(N=48)(9.1(SD=3.6) vs.7.8 perc.ntage points(SD=4.3)).Repeating analyses using devic.-measured data(n=32,130;N=24) did not alter our primary *** initial desc.iptive statistic.,we found that in c.untries/regions where a maj ority of sc.ools(>50%) reportedly use uniforms,there was lower c.mpli

A new software for automated c.unting of glistenings in intraoc.lar lenses in vivo

AIM:To assess the performanc. of a bespoke software for automated c.unting of intraoc.lar lens(IOL)glistenings in slit-lamp ***:IOL glistenings from slit-lamp-derived digital images were c.unted manually and automatic.lly by the bespoke *** images of one randomly selec.ed eye from eac. of 34 partic.pants were used as a training set to determine the threshold setting that gave the best agreement between manual and automatic.grading.A sec.nd set of 63 images,selec.ed using randomised stratified sampling from 290 images,were used for software *** images were obtained using a previously desc.ibed ***-derived automated glistenings c.unts were c.mpared to manual c.unts produc.d by three ***:A threshold value of 140 was determined that minimised the total deviation in the number of glistenings for the 34 images in the training *** this threshold value,only slight agreement was found between automated software c.unts and manual expert c.unts for the validating set of 63 images(κ=0.104,95%c.,0.040-0.168).Ten images(15.9%)had glistenings c.unts that agreed between the software and manual *** were 49 images(77.8%)where the software overestimated the number of ***:The low levels of agreement show between an initial release of software used to automatic.lly c.unt glistenings in in vivo slit-lamp images and manual c.unting indic.tes that this is a non-trivial *** improvement involving a dialogue between software developers and experienc.d ophthalmologists is required to optimise *** results suggest that validation of software is nec.ssary for studies involving semi-automatic.evaluation of glistenings.

Graph neural networks are attrac.ive for learning properties of atomic.struc.ures thanks to their intuitive graph enc.ding of atoms and ***,c.nventional enc.ding does not inc.ude angular information,whic. is c.itic.l for desc.ibing atomic.arrangements in disordered *** this work,we extend the rec.ntly proposed ALIGNN(Atomistic.Line Graph Neural Network)enc.ding,whic. inc.rporates bond angles,to also inc.ude dihedral angles(ALIGNN-d).This simple extension leads to a memory-effic.ent graph representation that c.ptures the c.mplete geometry of atomic.***-d is applied to predic. the infrared optic.l response of dynamic.lly disordered c.(II)aqua c.mplexes,leveraging the intrinsic.interpretability to eluc.date the relative c.ntributions of individual struc.ural *** and dihedral angles are found to be c.itic.l c.ntributors to the fine struc.ure of the absorption response,with distortions that represent transitions between more c.mmon geometries exhibiting the strongest absorption *** direc.ions for further development of ALIGNN-d are disc.ssed.
