Messrs thomas kennedy and Larry Kinard,representing NERC for the United Nations Sen-ior Technical Advisory Recruitment (STAR) Program,visited China from July 4 to 27,*** first two weeks ofthe visit were primarily devoted to the lectures on NERC operating reliability policies and procedures by the NERCoperators in *** members of the lecture class were much impressed with the experiences in bulk electricsystem operations of *** extended heartfelt thanks to Messrs kennedy and Kinard for their *** returned back to U.S.A.,they wrote the article“NERC system operators visit China”in the midst of pressingaffairs for us,in which,besides expressing their impressions in China’s electric power industry,they put forwardmany valuable suggestions in the improvements for Chinese electric system operations and hoped that the rela-tionship that has been established between NERC and MOE,China,will continue to grow and be mutually benefi-cial to both *** significant achievements have been witnessed in electric power industry sincethe founding of PRC,there exists still gap between the developed countries and our country in this *** observations,comments and suggestions from abroad for China’s electric power industry are sincerely wel-come.

Polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)/laponite(LP)nanocomposite coatings were fabricated via a facile one-step coassembly *** formed nanocoatings contain a high concentration of LP nanosheets,which can be well aligned along the substrate surface during the coassembly *** to the highly orientated structure,the flexible nanocoatings exhibit ultra-high transparency and superior mechanical properties,and can also act as excellent gas *** nanocoatings can be exceptional candidates for a variety of applications,such as food packaging.

Forest dynamics is highly relevant to a broad range of earth science studies,many of which have geographic coverage ranging from regional to global *** the temporally dense Landsat acquisitions available in many regions provide a unique opportunity for understanding forest disturbance history dating back to 1972,large quantities of Landsat images will need to be analysed for studies at regional to global *** will not only require effective change detection algorithms,but also highly automated,high level preprocessing capabilities to produce images with subpixel geolocation accuracies and best achievable radiometric consistency,a status called imagery-ready-to-use(IRU).This paper describes a streamlined approach for producing IRU quality Landsat time series stacks(LTSS).This approach consists of an image selection protocol,high level preprocessing algorithms and IRU quality verification *** high level preprocessing algorithms include updated radiometric calibration and atmospheric correction for calculating surface reflectance and precision registration and orthorectification routines for improving geolocation *** automated routines have been implemented in the Landsat Ecosystem Disturbance Adaptive System(LEDAPS)designed for processing large quantities of Landsat *** characteristics of the LTSS developed using this approach are discussed.

Background:Compared to the general population,cancer patients are at higher risk of morbidity and mortality following SARS-CoV-2 *** immune response to a two-dose regimen ofmRNA vaccines in cancer patients is generally lower than in immunocompetent *** doses may meaningfully augment immune response in this *** conducted an observational study with the primary objective of determining the immunogenicity of vaccine dose three(100μg)of mRNA-1273 among cancer patients and a secondary objective of evaluating safety at 14 and 28 ***:The mRNA-1273 vaccine was administered~7 to 9 months after administering two vaccine doses(i.e.,the primary series).Immune responses(enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay[ELISA])were assessed 28 days post-dose *** events were collected at days 14(±5)and 28(+5)post-dose *** exact or X^(2)tests were used to compare SARS-CoV-2 antibody positivity rates,and paired t-tests were used to compare SARS-CoV-2 antibody geometric mean titers(GMTs)across different time ***:Among 284 adults diagnosed with solid tumors or hematologic malignancies,dose three of mRNA-1273 increased the percentage of patients seropositive for SARS-CoV-2 antibody from 81.7%pre-dose three to 94.4%28 days post-dose *** increased 19.0-fold(15.8-22.8).Patients with lymphoid cancers or solid tumors had the lowest and highest antibody titers post-dose three,*** responses after dose three were reduced among those who received anti-CD20 antibody treatment,had lower total lymphocyte counts and received anticancer therapy within 3 *** patients seronegative for SARS-CoV-2 antibody pre-dose three,69.2%seroconverted after dose three.A majority(70.4%)experienced mostly mild,transient adverse reactions within 14 days of dose three,whereas severe treatment-emergent events within 28 days were very rare(<2%).Conclusion:Dose three of the mRNA-1273 vaccine was well-tolerated and augmented SAR

Mercury chloride exposure through drinking water in adult male prairie voles(Microtus ochrogaster)has been shown to alter their social ***,we examined the potential disruption of adult social behavior in prairie voles that were exposed to 60 ppm mercury during early *** used a cross-fostering approach to test the effects of mercury exposure:(1)from conception until birth;(ii)from birth until weaning;and(iii)from conception until weaning,on adult affiliative *** and mercury-treated voles were given the option of remaining in an empty cage or affiliating with a same-sex conspecific in a 3-h choice *** found that early developmental mercury exposure had little if any effect on the reproductive success of breeder pairs or on affiliative behavior by either sex when subjects were tested as *** results suggest that,at least in the context of the behavior tested,the effects of early developmental exposure to mercury do not permanently alter adult prairie vole affiliative behavior,or do so in a way that is too subtle to be detected using the current testing paradigm.

The present study aimed to explore the drivers of early marriage and teenage pregnancy in Kenya and Uganda during COVID-19 lockdown period.A systematic review design was *** major online databases utilized were PubMed,Google Scholar,Uganda and Kenya Ministry of Health repositories,ScienceDirect,and *** that were originating from Kenya and Uganda that were publicly available in electronic format published from March 2020 to March 2022 were *** thematic analysis identified major concepts that were drivers to the present research problem which were as follows:(1)school closure and(2)loss of income by *** COVID-19 containment measures introduced in the two countries were noted as major contributing *** the pandemic,lockdown led to school closures which meant the teenagers being idle at home with an increased opportunity to indulge in sexual risk *** have been noted to be a safe place protecting this vulnerable ***,with their prolonged closure,the teenagers were exposed to sexual *** lost income,and this might have contributed to early marriages and teenagers’dependency on their sexual *** on the reviewed evidence,the present study furthers the advocacy for the reduction of early marriages and teenage pregnancy,especially in the current COVID-19 pandemic *** study calls upon the governments to intensify efforts toward the present research problem as the COVID-19 pandemic is eroding the earlier gains made within the region.

The Soft X-ray Imager(SXI)is part of the scientific payload of the Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)*** is a joint science mission between the European Space Agency(ESA)and the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)and is due for launch in *** is a compact X-ray telescope with a wide field-of-view(FOV)capable of encompassing large portions of Earth’s magnetosphere from the vantage point of the SMILE *** is sensitive to the soft X-rays produced by the Solar Wind Charge eXchange(SWCX)process produced when heavy ions of solar wind origin interact with neutral particles in Earth’s *** provides a mechanism for boundary detection within the magnetosphere,such as the position of Earth’s magnetopause,because the solar wind heavy ions have a very low density in regions of closed magnetic field *** sensitivity of the SXI is such that it can potentially track movements of the magnetopause on timescales of a few minutes and the orbit of SMILE will enable such movements to be tracked for segments lasting many *** is led by the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom(UK)with collaborating organisations on hardware,software and science support within the UK,Europe,China and the United States.
