Dielectric properties of (Zn)x/CuTl-1223 nanoparticle-superconductor composites

Zinc (Zn) nanoparticles and (Cu0.5Tl0.5)Ba2Ca2Cu3O10−δ (CuTl-1223) superconducting phase were prepared separately by sol-gel and solid-state reaction methods, respectively. Zn nanoparticles were added in CuTl-1223 superconducting matrix with different weight percentage during the final sintering process to obtain (Zn) x /CuTl-1223 (x = 02-4 wt%) nanoparticle-superconductor composites. The effect of Zn nanoparticles on structural, morphological, superconducting, and dielectric properties of CuTl-1223 phase was investigated. The addition of these Zn nanoparticles has not affected the crystal structure of host CuTl-1223 superconducting phase. Superconducting properties were enhanced after the addition of Zn nanoparticles up to certain optimum content (i.e., x = 1 wt%), which were due to improved inter-grain connectivity by healing up of micro-cracks and reduction of defects like oxygen deficiencies, etc. The activation energy (U) was increased after the addition of Zn nanoparticles in CuTl-1223 phase. The dielectric properties of these samples (i.e., dielectric constant, dielectric loss) were determined by experimentally measured capacitance (C) and conductance (G) as a function of frequency at room temperature. The addition of metallic Zn nanoparticles in CuTl-1223 matrix has overall suppressed the dielectric parameters of (Zn) x /CuTl-1223 nanoparticle-superconductor composites. The metallic Zn nanoparticles played a significant role in inter-grain couplings by filling the voids and pores.

AIM:To investigate cell cycle proteins in chronic hepatitis C virus infection in order to analyze their role in the process of hepatocyte transformation and to characterize their prognostic properties. MeTHODS:Subjects of the current study included 50 cases of chronic hepatitis C(CHC) without cirrhosis,30 cases of CHC with liver cirrhosis(LC) ,and 30 cases of hepatitis C-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) admitted to the Department of Hepato-Gastroenterology,Theodor Bilharz Research Institute(TBRI) ,Giza,*** wedge liver biopsies,taken during laparoscopic cholecystectomy,were also included as normal *** investigations including urine and stool analysis,liver function tests and prothrombin concentration;serologic markers for viral hepatitis and ultrasonography were done for all cases of the study together with immunohistochemical analysis using primary antibodies against Cyclin D1,Cyclin e,p21,p27 and Rb/p105 proteins. ReSULTS:Normal wedge liver biopsies didn't express Cyclin e or Rb/p105 immunostaining but show positive staining for Cyclin D1,p21 and *** D1 expressed nuclear staining that was sequentially increased from CHC to LC(Pes;meanwhile,Cyclin e revealed nuclear positivity only in the case of HCCs patients that was directly correlated to Rb/p105 *** expression of p21 and p27 was significantly increased in CHC and LC cases compared to normal controls and HCCs with no significant difference between well-and poorlydifferentiated tumors.p21 showed only a nuclear pattern of staining,while,p27 presented with either cytoplasmic and/or nuclear reactivity in all studied *** analysis revealed a direct relation between Cyclin D1 and p21 in CHC cases(Petween Cyclin D1 and Cyclin e in HCCs(Pever,an inverserelationship was detected between Cyclin D1 and p21 or p27(Petween p21 and Rb/p105(Pegulation of Cyclin D1 in CHC p

Dynamic Optimization of Caregiver Schedules Based on Vital Sign Streams

Hospital facilities use a collection of heterogeneous devices, produced by many different vendors, to monitor the state of patient vital signs. The limited interoperability of current devices makes it difficult to synthesize multivariate monitoring data into a unified array of real-time information regarding the patients state. Without an infrastructure for the integrated evaluation, display, and storage of vital sign data, one cannot adequately ensure that the assignment of caregivers to patients reflects the relative urgency of patient needs. This is an especially serious issue in critical care units (CCUs). We present a formal mathematical model of an operational critical care unit, together with metrics for evaluating the systematic impact of caregiver scheduling decisions on patient care. The model is rich enough to capture the essential features of device and patient diversity, and so enables us to test the hypothesis that integration of vital sign data could realistically yield a significant positive impact on the efficacy of critical care delivery outcome. To test the hypothesis, we employ the model within a computer simulation. The simulation enables us to compare the current scheduling processes in widespread use within CCUs, against a new scheduling algorithm that makes use of an integrated array of patient information collected by an (anticipated) vital sign data integration infrastructure. The simulation study provides clear evidence that such an infrastructure reduces risk to patients and lowers operational costs, and in so doing reveals the inherent costs of medical device non-interoperability.

Gravity Modeling for the Rifted Crust at the Arabian Shield Margin – Further Insight into Red Sea Spreading

A large variation in elevation and gravity anomaly prevails from the Red Sea coast to the interior of the Arabian Shield (AS) across the Asir Igneous Province (AIP);The Asir Mountain (AM) is developed on AIP. Here the elevation varies from 45 - 2700 m, corresponding changes in F.A. are from –30 to + 220 mgal and B.A. from +22 to –175 mgal. Regression relationships between elevation and gravity anomalies demonstrate significant changes in trend at about 400 m threshold of elevation across the pediment west of AM, at about 45 km inland of the shoreline, flanking the Hizaz-Asir escarpment (HAe). Gravity anomaly variation along a traverse taken across HAe and AIP is interpreted here in terms of anomalous masses in crust as well as due to deeper crustal configuration. 2D gravity interpretation is, in part, constrained by surface geology, available geologic cross-sections for crust, interpretations from the IRIS Deep-Seismic Refraction Line, and to a lesser extent by the available gross results from shear-wave splitting and receiver function analysis. The gravity model provides probable solutions for the first time on geometric configuration and geophysical identification: a) for the seaward margin of the mid-Tertiary Mafic Crust (TMC) below sediment cover of the Asir pediment that coincides with the 400 m threshold elevation. This signifies an anomalous uplift at the rifting phase. Moho below TMC extends from 10 - 22 km depth across HAe and west margin of AIP, b). Thinned continental crust below the Asir margin whose upper layer coincides with a seismic reflector is at about 22 km depth, c). Rift-margin characteristic detachment fault associated with basaltic flows on top surface of TMC at its inner margin, d). Two geologically mapped low-angle normal faults dipping to the east developed between the basic rocks intruding the AIP and e). felsic pluton farther east within AS. Impact of Friction Stir Welding (FSW) Process Parameters on Thermal Modeling and Heat Generation of Aluminum Alloy Joints

Friction stir welding （FSW） is a solid-state joining process, where joint properties largely depend on the amount of heat generation during the welding process. The objective of this paper was to develop a numerical thermomechanical model for FSW of aluminum--copper alloy AA2219 and analyze heat generation during the welding process. The thermomechanical model has been developed utilizing ANSYS APDL. The model was verified by comparing simulated temperature profile of three different weld schedules （i.e., different combinations of weld parameters in real weld situations） from simulation with experimental results. Furthermore, the verified model was used to analyze the effect of different weld parameters on heat generation. Among all the weld parameters, the effect of rotational speed on heat generation is the highest.

A Fully Coupled Thermomechanical Model of Friction Stir Welding(FSW) and Numerical Studies on Process Parameters of Lightweight Aluminum Alloy Joints

This paper presents a new thermomechanical model of friction stir welding which is capable of simulating the three major steps of friction stir welding （FSW） process, i.e., plunge, dwell, and travel stages. A rate-dependent Johnson- Cook constitutive model is chosen to capture elasto-plastic work deformations during FSW. Two different weld schedules （i.e., plunge rate, rotational speed, and weld speed） are validated by comparing simulated temperature profiles with experimental results. Based on this model, the influences of various welding parameters on temperatures and energy generation during the welding process are investigated. Numerical results show that maximum temperature in FSW process increases with the decrease in plunge rate, and the frictional energy increases almost linearly with respect to time for different rotational speeds. Furthermore, low rotational speeds cause inadequate temperature distribution due to low frictional and plastic dissipation energy which eventually results in weld defects. When both the weld speed and rotational speed are increased, the contribution of plastic dissipation energy increases significantly and improved weld quality can be expected.

Climate change impact and adaptation on wheat yield, water use and water use efficiency at North Nile Delta

Investigation of climate change impacts on food security has become a global hot *** so,efforts to mitigate these issues in arid regions have been ***,in this paper,further research is discussed based on data obtained from various crop and climate *** DSSATcrop models(CMs)(CeReSWheat and N-Wheat)were calibrated with two wheat cultivars(Gemiza9 and Misr1).A baseline simulation(1981-2010)was compared with different scenarios of simulations using three Global Climate Models(GCMs)for the 2030s,2050s and *** impacts of climate change were assessed using the GCMs and CMs under the high emission Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP8.5).Results predicted decreased wheat grain yields by a mean of 8.7%,11.4%and 13.2%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,relative to the baseline *** impacts of climatic change are probable,despite some uncertainties within the GCMs(i.e.,2.1%,5.0%and 8.0%)and CMs(i.e.,2.2%,6.0%and 9.2%).Changing the planting date with a scenario of plus or minus 5 or 10 days from the common practice was assessed as a potentially effective adaptation option,which may partially offset the negative impacts of climate *** the sowing date by 10 days(from 20 November to 30 November)proved the optimum scenario and decreased further reduction in wheat yields resulting from climate change to 5.2%,6.8%and 8.5%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,compared with the 20 November *** planting 5-days earlier scenario showed a decreased impact on climate change ***,the 10-days early planting scenario increased yield reduction under projected climate *** cultivar Misr1 was more resistant to rising temperature than *** the negative impacts of projected climate change on wheat production,water use efficiency would slightly *** ensemble of multi-model estimated impacts and adaptation uncertainties of climate change can assist decision-makers in planning clima

Objective:To investigate the antimicrobial property of mangrove plantSonneratia alba(S. alba).Methods:The antimicrobial activity was evaluated using disc diffusion and microdilution methods against six microorganisms. Soxhlet apparatus was used for extraction with a series of solvents,n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol in sequence of increasing ***:Methanol extract appeared to be the most effective extract whilen-hexane extract showed no activity. The antimicrobial activities were observed against the gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) and Bacillus cereus(B. cereus), the gram negative escherichia coli(e. coli) and the yeast Cryptococcus neoformans. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans appeared to be not sensitive to the concentrations tested since no inhibition zone was observed.e. coli(17.5 mm) appeared to be the most sensitive strain followed by S. aureus(12.5 mm)and B. cereus(12.5 mm).Conclusions:From this study, it can be concluded that S. alba exhibit santim icrobial activities against certain microorganisms.

Comparative Toxicity of Selected Insecticides to Phytoplasma Transmitted Leafhopper Cicadulina bipunctata （Melichar）

Leafhopper Cicadulina bipunctata is represented the main insect as a pathogen for phytoplasma disease occurring by insect-transmitted plant viruses in date palm orchards. Therefore, it is important to investigate the potential effect of some insecticides against such insect. The adults of leafhopper C. bipunctata were collected from date palm orchards in Alhasa, eastern province, Saudi Arabia. Three insecticides from different classes--beta-cyfluthrin （pyrethroids）, imidacloprid （neonicotinoids） and abamectin （natural compounds）--have been evaluated in vivo against adults C. bipunctata. This stage was exposed to residual film of various concentrations of each insecticide on transparent plastic cups using a Potter precision laboratory spray tower. Bioassay test showed that both beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid caused 100% mortality by 500 ppm at 24 h after treatment, whereas abamectin gave the same mortality by 50 ppm at the same time. Toxicity values revealed that abameetin was the most potent insecticide compared with beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid, where the lethal concentrations LC50 and LC95 were 24.58 ppm and 116.73 ppm at 3 h after treatment, respectively. Therefore, abamectin can be a possible candidate to be applied on date palm or ground grass by the Ministry of Agriculture after successful field experiments.

Some New Applications of elzaki Transform for Solution of Linear Volterra Type Integral equations

Volterra type integral equations have diverse applications in scientific and other fields. Modelling physical phenomena by employing integral equations is not a new concept. Similarly, extensive research is underway to find accurate and efficient solution methods for integral equations. Some of noteworthy methods include Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM), Variational Iteration Method (VIM), Method of Successive Approximation (MSA), Galerkin method, Laplace transform method, etc. This research is focused on demonstrating elzaki transform application for solution of linear Volterra integral equations which include convolution type equations as well as one system of equations. The selected problems are available in literature and have been solved using various analytical, semi-analytical and numerical techniques. Results obtained after application of elzaki transform have been compared with solutions obtained through other prominent semi-analytic methods i.e. ADM and MSA (limited to first four iterations). The results substantiate that elzaki transform method is not only a compatible alternate approach to other analytic methods like Laplace transform method but also simple in application once compared with methods ADM and MSA.
