Karrikins and strigolactones govern plant development and environmental responses through closely related signaling *** transcriptional repressor proteins SUPPRESSOR OF MAX21(SMAX1),SMAX1-like2(SMXL2),and D53-like SMXLs mediate karrikin and strigolactone signaling by directly binding downstream genes or byinhibiting the activities of transcription *** this study,we characterized the non-transcriptional regulatory activities of SMXL proteins in *** discovered that SMAX1 and SMXL2 with mutations in their ethylene-responsefactor-associated amphiphilic repression(EAR)motif had undetectable or weak transcriptional repression activities but still partially rescued the hypocotyl elongation defects and fully reversed the cotyledon epinasty defects of the smax1 smxl2 ***1 and SMXL2 directly interact with PHYTOCHROME INTERACTION FACTOR4(PIF4)and PIF5 to enhance their protein stability by interacting with phytochrome B(phyB)and suppressing the association of phyB with PIF4 and *** karrikin-responsive genes were then identified by treatment with gR24ent-ssa,gR24 analog showing karrikin ***,INDOLE-3-ACETIC ACID INDUCIBLE 29(IAA29)expression was repressed by gR24^(ent-5D)streatment in a PIF4-and PIF5-dependent and EARindependent manner,whereas KARRIKIN UPREgULATED F-BOX 1(KUF1)expression was induced in a PIF4-and PIF5-independent and EAR-dependent ***,the non-transcriptional regulatory activity of SMAX1,which is independent of the EAR motif,had a global effect on gene *** together,these results indicate that non-transcriptional regulatory activities of SMAX1 and SMXL2 mediate karrikin-regulated seedling response to red light.

Transdermal drug delivery(TDD)has gained clinical approval over several decades,with extensive research dedicated to novel drug and device *** notable research progress,the mar-ket adoption of TDD devices has not met anticipated levels,with oral administration and injection remaining predominant delivery *** maximize the potential of TDD,we identify bottlenecks hinder-ing its widespread clinical application and propose promising research *** begin by analyzing stringent demands necessary to truly benefit patients,addressing significant challenges in biomechanics,nanomedicine,and flexible ***,we delve into skin anatomy,enhancement strategies,nano-carriers,and their under-lining mechanisms,highlighting the importance and framework of quantitative *** on these discussions,we highlight the core strength of TDD,such as automatic precise administration based on feedback and high delivery efficiencies,especially applicable to localized conditions(e.g.,central nervous system diseases,tumors).Finally,we envision the future of intelligent TDD device and its opera-tion scenario,aiming to steer research efforts toward faster translation of laboratory innovations into widely used products for sufferers.

Impacts of Winter Eurasian Snow Cover Anomalies on the Surface Air Temperature Variability over West Asia

Previous research has shown that land surface thermal anomalies in West Asia(WA) can impact regional and global climate,particularly affecting China through the eastward propagation of wave ***,the factors driving these anomalies in WA have not been extensively *** on the observation data,this work focuses on examining the impacts of Eurasian winter snow cover on winter surface air temperature(SAT) variability over WA from 1978/1979 to 2017/2018 and explores the underlying physical *** results indicate that a crucial snow anomaly area extending from the Baltic Sea to eastern Ural significantly influences the winter SAT anomaly in *** anomalous increase(decrease) in winter snow cover in this key area corresponds to the anomalously warmer(cooler) SAT in *** relationship is primarily driven by the albedo effects of snow cover,where more(less)snow cover induces cooling(warming) of the overlying air,altering upper-level geopotential height and influencing the intensity,duration,and frequency of local blocking ***,changes in the air temperature above the key area modify the meridional temperature gradient(MTg) between high and low latitudes,affecting the mean zonal flow in the *** of the thermodynamic energy equation for SAT reveals that the combined effects of variations in blocking events in high latitudes and mean zonal flow in midlatitudes alter the advection of climatological temperature by anomalous winds,which is caused by the anomalous increase(decrease) of snow cover in the key ***,this leads to changes in cold advection transported to WA,contributing to the occurrence of a warmer(colder) SAT over WA in winter.

The Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor is prone to numerous active faults and frequent strong *** extensive studies have individually explored the effect of active faults and strong earthquakes on different engineering structures,their combined effect remains *** research employed multiple physical model tests to investigate the dynamic response of various engineering structures,including tunnels,bridges,and embankments,under the simultaneous influence of cumulative earthquakes and stick-slip misalignment of an active *** prototype selected for this study was the Kanding No.2 tunnel,which crosses the yunongxi fault zone within the Sichuan-Tibet transportation *** results demonstrated that the tunnel,bridge,and embankment exhibited amplification in response to the input seismic wave,with the amplification effect gradually decreasing as the input peak ground acceleration(PgA)*** PgAs of different engineering structures were weakened by the fault rupture ***,the misalignment of the active fault may decrease the overall stiffness of the engineering structure,leading to more severe damage,with a small contribution from seismic ***,the seismic vibration effect might be enlarged with the height of the engineering structure,and the tunnel is supposed to have a smaller PgA and lower dynamic earth pressure compared to bridges and embankments in strong earthquake zones crossing active *** findings contribute valuable insights for evaluating the dynamic response of various engineering structures crossing an active fault and provide an experimental reference for secure engineering design in the challenging conditions of the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor.

Impact Force Localization and Reconstruction via ADMM-based Sparse Regularization Method

In practice,simultaneous impact localization and time history reconstruction can hardly be achieved,due to the illposed and under-determined problems induced by the constrained and harsh measuring *** l_(1) regularization can be used to obtain sparse solutions,it tends to underestimate solution amplitudes as a biased *** address this issue,a novel impact force identification method with l_(p) regularization is proposed in this paper,using the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM).By decomposing the complex primal problem into sub-problems solvable in parallel via proximal operators,ADMM can address the challenge *** mitigate the sensitivity to regularization parameters,an adaptive regularization parameter is derived based on the K-sparsity ***,an ADMM-based sparse regularization method is developed,which is capable of handling l_(p) regularization with arbitrary p values using adaptively-updated *** effectiveness and performance of the proposed method are validated on an aircraft skin-like composite ***,an investigation into the optimal p value for achieving high-accuracy solutions via l_(p) regularization is *** turns out that l_(0.6)regularization consistently yields sparser and more accurate solutions for impact force identification compared to the classic l_(1) regularization *** impact force identification method proposed in this paper can simultaneously reconstruct impact time history with high accuracy and accurately localize the impact using an under-determined sensor configuration.

In this work,we proposed a novel Cu/θdual nanoparticles strategy to tailor the austenite characteris-tics of a medium Mn steel via a tempering-annealing process to optimize the mechanical *** explored the effects of Cu-rich particles and cementite precipitated in the tempering process on the austenite reversion during the subsequent annealing *** experiments and numerical simula-tions verified that the austenite inherited from cementite had a finer size and a higher Mn enrichment compared with the austenite originating from the tempered martensite *** addition,quantitative evaluations revealed that the pinning effect exerted by the Cu-rich particles could significantly hinder theα/γinterface migration and the recrystallized grain growth,thereby further refining the final *** contributions from the effects of dual nanoprecipitates on the austenite reversion,the heterogeneous austenite grains inherited from varying nucleation sites ensured the sustained and gradual deformation-induced martensite and twinning ***,the Cu-added steels subjected to a tempering-annealing process achieved synergetic enhancement of the tensile strength from 1055 MPa to 1250 MPa and elongation from 33%to 45%.This strategy may provide new guidance for the development and alloy design of high-performance medium Mn steels.
