Striped snakehead(Channa striata)has enormous fisheries and aquaculture importance due to its high market demand and food ***,Vietnam strain of the species has been introduced to Bangladesh for ***,it is essential to develop a reliable molecular technique that can distinguish the Bangladesh strain from the Vietnam ones as biological invasion by feral exotic fish to the wild may cause enduring damage to ecosystem and species *** clips from snakehead samples were collected from six locations and total DNA was *** cytochrome oxidase c 1(COI)gene fragment was amplified by PCR using the Fish F1/R1 primer set and sequenced for analysis of intra-and inter-strain genetic diversity and detection of single nucleotide polymorphism to distinguish the Vietnam strain from Bangladesh ones.A total of 15 haplotypes were identified with an overall haplotype diversity of *** median-joining network created based on COI gene sequences clearly differentiated the Bangladesh strain from the strain of Vietnamese origin by a total of 18 single nucleotide *** In silico restriction analysis revealed AluI was the most suitable restriction enzyme that produced diagnostic restriction profiles of the two strains of ***-RFLP analysis by the restriction enzyme AluI created distinguishing restriction profile similar to that in the In silico *** work illustrates a simple,reliable and inexpensive molecular tool for the identification of the Bangladesh and Vietnam strains of *** by one-step PCR and restriction of the COI gene fragment.

The Influences of CPTED on Fear of Crime and Sense of Community

Fear of crime varies considerably depending on its attitude towards environmental conditions. Sense of community and CPTED （crime prevention through environmental design） are believed to have an influence on fear of crime. This paper investigates the hypotheses of influences of CPTED on FOC （fear of crime） and SOC （sense of community）. A total of 171 respondents from the designated residential areas were involved in this study. The structural equation modeling technique was employed and the results indicate that CPTED has a direct influence on fear of crime and sense of community. However, no significant relationship was found between SOC and FOC.

Shadow Banking Credit Intermediation： Determinants of Default Risks in Securitization and Collateralization

The growth in shadow banking system over the past few years is acknowledged as the key risk to Malaysia＇s financial stability. This is because that it is associated with growth in the household debts extended by the shadow banks. In line with initiatives by the Bank Negara Malaysia （the Central Bank of Malaysia） to enhance surveillance on the activities of the shadow banks in Malaysia, this study attempts to examine the determinants of default risks of shadow banks restricting to focus on their two main activities： securitization and collateralization. The results provide empirical evidence that future methodology to examine the systemic risks in the shadow banking system may need to account for additional explanatory variables that measure collateralized assets that are being intermediated.

为评价DNA宏条形码(DNA metabarcoding)技术在海洋生物多样性监测中的应用潜力,本研究中采集了马来西亚马塘红树林保护区(Matang Mangrove Reserve,Malaysia)10个站位(SO1~SO10)浮游动物样品,分别采用宏条形码和形态学鉴定方法分析了浮游动物群落组成和结构。结果表明:以18S rDNA V4区为标志基因的宏条形码方法共鉴定出浮游动物25门88目138属249个操作分类单元(operational taxonomic units,OTUs),而借助光学显微镜的形态学方法仅鉴定出2门6目13属;利用形态学方法鉴定出来的大部分类别(门100%、目83%、属54%)同时也能用宏条形码方法鉴定出来,而宏条形码分子方法鉴定出的大部分类别(门92%、目94%、属95%)却未能利用形态学方法鉴定出来;宏条形码方法根据热点图样本相似性聚类树可将10组浮游动物样本划分为3类(在门和目水平上),即第Ⅰ类(SO1、SO2、SO3和SO6)、第Ⅱ类(SO4、SO7、SO8、SO9和SO10)和第Ⅲ类(SO5),但在属分类水平上,SO4从第Ⅱ类站位划归到了第Ⅰ类中。研究表明:比较两种方法,宏条形码方法不但具有鉴定效率高、花费较低等优点,而且能得到更多的浮游动物种类和丰富度信息;随着DNA宏条形码技术体系的不断完善,数据库不断更新,使得DNA条形码技术的准确性更高,其将在浮游生物多样性评价中具有较高的应用潜力。

Chemical Constituents in E-Cigarette Liquids and Aerosols

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes, EC) form an aerosol from the heating element and liquid-containing cartridge. The heating element aerosolizes the refill solutions (e-liquids) when the power source of e-cigarette is pressed. E-liquids consist of combinations of propylene glycol, glycerine, nicotine and flavouring ingredients. Puffing activates the battery-operated heating element in the atomizer and will produce smoke that is similar to conventional cigarette (CC). This study evaluated the chemical composition of e-liquid and aerosol samples available in Malaysia. We analyzed the volatile organic compounds in e-liquids and the aerosols samples from EC using gas chromatography mass spectrometer. Seventy-two EC e-liquids were analyzed through different flavours from more than 60 brands. Samples consisted of 32 nicotine-free (0 mg) and 40 nicotine-containing refill solutions (3 - 12 mg). Overall, 116 compounds were identified from EC e-liquids. On the other hand, 275 compounds were identified from their resultant aerosol samples. There were 42 compounds found in both e-liquids and aerosols. Seven compounds were only found in e-liquids and 38 compounds were only found in aerosols. Propylene glycol was found in all of the e-liquid and aerosol samples. Glycerin was found in 99% of the e-liquid and 100% of aerosol samples. At least 60% of the EC e-liquids and the resultant aerosol contain piperidine, butanoic acid ethyl ester and nicotine. It was also found that at least 9 out of 35 nicotine free labeled e-liquids contain nicotine. Some of these compounds were known to be detrimental to health and were detected in aerosol although they were not present in e-liquids. While some of the compounds are flavouring ingredients, it is necessary to evaluate its long-term effects on EC users.

The most sensitive Arabic text available online is the digital Holy *** sacred Islamic religious book is recited by all Muslims worldwide including non-Arabs as part of their worship ***,it should be protected from any kind of tampering to keep its invaluable meaning *** characteristics of Arabic letters like the vowels(),Kashida(extended letters),and other symbols in the Holy Quran must be secured from *** cover text of the Quran and its watermarked text are different due to the low values of the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR)and Embedding Ratio(ER).A watermarking technique with enhanced attributes must,therefore,be designed for the Quran’s text using Arabic vowels with *** gap addressed by this paper is to improve the security of Arabic text in the Holy Quran by using vowels with *** purpose of this paper is to enhance the Quran text watermarking scheme based on a reversing *** methodology consists of four phases:The first phase is a pre-processing followed by the second phase-the embedding process phase—which will hide the data after the *** is,if the secret bit is“1”,then the kashida is inserted;however,the kashida is not inserted if the bit is“0”.The third phase is the extraction process and the last phase is to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme by using PSNR(for the imperceptibility)and ER(for the capacity).The experimental results show that the proposed method of imperceptibility insertion is also optimized with the help of a reversing *** proposed strategy obtains a 90.5%***,the proposed algorithm attained 66.1%which is referred to as imperceptibility.

In this paper we first explore what scholarship of teaching （SOT）, shared governance and change management means, both in terms of the way that is represented in the literature and the way that is understood by academic staff themselves. From this information we derive qualitative and quantitative interpretation which captures the variations found in the literature and empirical studies. In the final section we illustrate how the state of readiness in the three areas is in place for the development of the SoT, shared governance, and change management in University X.

Background: Ageing of the population is one of the most important demographic facts that come to the foreground in the 21st century. Objective: To assess the relationship between psychological factors (depression, loneliness, using anti anxiety medication, fear from falls and internal displacement of the population) and falls among elderly people in Baghdad city, Iraq. Methods: A matched 1:1 community based case-control study involving 716 elderly respondents, recruited randomly from six Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in different areas of Baghdad. Interviews to each respondent were done accordingly. Geriatric depression scale (GDS) was used to assess the depression among the elderly people. Results: The minimum age for cases and controls was 60 years old while the maximum age for cases was 87 and for controls was 85 years old. The female was predominant than male, 53.6% to 46.4% respectively. The relation between depression, fear from fall, using anti anxiety medication, internal displacement and falls was statistically significant

Effect of Mechanical Properties and Morphology of Sago Starch Filled UPR Composite

Native starches have many uses in food systems while modified starches have limitless use in food and non-food application. Starch composite based thermoplastic matrix had been investigated and well established. For our project, thermoset polymer as a matrix was incorporated with sago starch. In this work, sago starch was used as fillers onto UPR (UPR) matrix to induce degradability of composite. The polyester resin mixed with native starch were fabricated through hand lay-up and characterized using mechanical testing such as tensile, flexural, impact test and this is followed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Plasticizers were added to improve flexibility of composite. Starch/UPR system was surface treated with plasticizer and copolymer surfactant before fabrication. The individual effect of each additive and associated interactive effects at different starch loadings were investigated. Plasticizer and surfactant individually showed slight enhancement in composite starch/UPR strength. Tensile and flexural strength and modulus were found to change with the two additives employed namely plasticizer and copolymer. For impact strength, high impact properties were exhibited using both compatibilizer systems as compared to single compatibilizer system. The Scanning Electron Microscopy showed better dispersion of starch in 3D matrix system when plasticizer and copolymer surfactant was used and mixed together. Plasticizer and copolymer surfactant also demonstrated significant interactive effects on strength. Presence of both additives indicated that plasticizer and surfactant act synergistically by providing increased composite bonding that eventually generates a stronger composite as shown by increasing mechanical strength compared to individual use of additive system.
