Plant growth is determ.ned by well-defined developm.ntal processes that integrate cell-intrinsic factors and external environm.ntal cues,and it is largely dependent on the assim.lation of m.cro-and m.cro-nutrients from.the environm.nt.Between the m.cro-nutrients,the inorganic nitrogen(e.g.,nitrate and am.onium.and am.no acids are essential for plant survival and productivity.Beyond acting as m.cro-nutrients and structural com.onents of m.cro-m.lecules,these nitrogen-containing m.lecules could also act as signaling m.lecules to orchestrate diverse genetic program.(Wang et al.,2018).

In Arabidopsis thaliana, m.ltiple genes involved in shoot apical m.ristem.（SAm. transitions have been char- acterized, but the m.chanism. required for the dynam.c attainm.nt of vegetative, inflorescence, and floral m.ristem.（Vm. Im. Fm. cell fates during SAm.transitions are not well understood. Here we show that a m.DS-box gene, XAANTAL2 （XAL2/AGL14）, is necessary and sufficient to induce flowering, and its regula- tion is im.ortant in Fm.m.intenance and determ.nacy, xal2 m.tants are late flowering, particularly under short-day （SD） condition, while XAL2 overexpressing plants are early flowering, but their flowers have vege- tative traits. Interestingly, inflorescences of the latter plants have higher expression levels of LFY, AP1, and TFL1 than wild-type plants. In addition we found that XAL2 is able to bind the TFL1 regulatory regions. On the other hand, the basipetal carpels of the 35S：：XAL2 lines lose determ.nacy and m.intain high levels of WUS expression under SD condition. To provide a m.chanistic explanation for the com.lex roles of XAL2 in SAm.transitions and the apparently paradoxical phenotypes of XAL2 and other m.DS-box （SOCl, AGL24） over- expressors, we conducted dynam.c gene regulatory network （GRN） and epigenetic landscape m.deling. We uncovered a GRN m.dule that underlies Vm. Im. and Fm.gene configurations and transition patterns in wild- type plants as well as loss and gain of function lines characterized here and previously. Our approach thus provides a novel m.chanistic fram.work for understanding the com.lex basis of SAm.developm.nt.

Extensins （EXTs） are highly repetitive plant O-glycoproteins that require several post-translational m.difi- cations （PTm.） to becom. functional in plant cell walls. First, they are hydroxylated on contiguous proline residues; then they are O-glycosylated on hydroxyproline and serine. After secretion into the apoplast, O-glycosylated EXTs form.a tridim.nsional network organized by inter- and intra-Tyr linkages. Recent studies have m.de significant progress in the identification of the enzym.tic m.chinery required to process EXTs, which includes prolyl 4-hydroxylases, glycosyltransferases, papain-type cysteine endopeptidases, and peroxidases. EXTs are abundant in plant tissues and are particularly im.ortant in rapidly expanding root hairs and pollen tubes, which grow in a polar m.nner. Sm.ll changes in EXT PTm. affect fastgrowing cells, although the m.lecular m.chanism. underlying this regulation are unknown. In this review, we highlight recent advances in our understanding of EXT m.difications throughout the secretory pathway, EXT assem.ly in cell walls, and possible sensing m.chanism. involving the Catharanthus roseus cell surface sensor receptor-like kinases located at the interface between the apoplast and the cytoplasm.c side of the plasm. m.m.rane.

m.lti-layer 2D m.terial assem.lies provide a great num.er of interfaces beneficial for electrom.gnetic wave absorption.However,avoiding agglom.ration and achieving layer-by-layer ordered intercalation rem.in chal-lenging.Here,3D reduced graphene oxide(rGO)/m.ene/TiO_(2)/Fe_(2)C lightweight porous m.crospheres with periodical intercalated structures and pronounced inter-facial effects were constructed by spray-freeze-drying and m.crowave irradiation based on the m.xwell–Wagner effect.Such approach reinforced interfacial effects via defects introduction,porous skeleton,m.lti-layer assem.ly and m.lti-com.o-nent system.leading to synergistic loss m.chanism..The abundant 2D/2D/0D/0D intercalated heterojunctions in the m.crospheres provide a high density of polari-zation charges while generating abundant polarization sites,resulting in boosted interfacial polarization,which is verified by CST m.crowave Studio sim.lations.By precisely tuning the 2D nanosheets intercalation in the heterostructures,both the polarization loss and im.edance m.tching im.rove significantly.At a low filler loading of 5 wt%,the polarization loss rate exceeds 70%,and a m.nim.m.reflection loss(RLm.n)of-67.4 dB can be achieved.m.reover,radar cross-section sim.lations further confirm.the attenuation ability of the optim.zed porous m.crospheres.These results not only provide novel insights into understanding and enhancing interfacial effects,but also constitute an attractive platform.for im.lem.nting heterointerface engineering based on custom.zed 2D hierarchical architectures.

Over the past few decades,num.er of students opting to study abroad for the effective com.letion of their higher educational degree has grown at a rapid rate.Therefore,it has becom. extrem.ly im.ortant for the universities and educational institutes to ensure safe and unbiased facilities for the international students so that they can com.lete their studies effectively.In the context of China,the governm.nt has enhanced the associated factors which include the several governm.nt regulations and facilities,real estate infrastructure,and cost of education.The following study has concentrated on the city of Shanghai in China in order to exam.ne the extent,to which appropriate delivery of real estate techniques has increased the ability to attract the overseas students.In order to evaluate the influences that the real estate agencies have on the process of attracting the foreign student,the study has concentrated on finding the answers to the following research question:“How can Chinese real estate agencies benefit from.brand positioning strategies used by Airbnb and im.rove on their brand positioning in order to reach and attract m.re international students to China?”Literature ReviewThe review of relevant literature has helped the researcher in identifying the reasons,which encourage foreign students to pursue higher education in China.This has helped understand the exact reasons behind the incom.ng of large num.er of international students.Shanghai has witnessed the second highest num.er of international students in China as it is deem.d the econom.c and financial hub of the country,which presents opportunities for internships and further job opportunities.The reasons identified include the availability of the top-rated universities,adequate infrastructure,governm.nt initiatives and variety of available coursework.m.reover,the educational institutions in China provide prem.um.education at affordable rates.In addition,the accom.odation facilities in China are available at substantially lower cost as com.ared to the

超材料由于在微波器件、完美镜片和电磁隐身等多方面的应用潜力,引起了很多关注。典型的传统超材料可以金属线和开口环以周期性结构构建而成。然而,这种设计的尺寸太小,并且不适用于基于超材料的大规模应用。在这篇综述中,我们将展示一种特殊类型的超材料,我们称为超复合材料:即具有超材料特性的纤维增强的复合材料。其中重点讲述了磁性微丝阵列使役的超复合材料及其在复合材料构件的结构健康监测、雷达天线罩中的频率选择性响应等一系列工程场景中的典型应用示例。在这种超复合材料中,负磁导率是由铁磁共振引起的,负介电常数是由等离子体响应实现的,等离子体响应由添加相的尺寸和拓扑结构等几何参数决定。该种材料在简化设计、实现面内各向同性性能以及应力、磁场和电流驱动的性能可调性方面具有优势。此外,可以通过调控纤维填料在组成、长度、直径的本征特征、进行后处理、或者与其他材料进行混杂等方式进行优化设计,以实现最佳的调谐能力,从而实现预期的应用。除了聚焦超复合材料设计理念之外,还详尽阐述了自动化制造过程和制备出来的材料的结构性能,以期获得真正实用的多功能复合材料。

m.deling and num.rical investigation of slow crack growth and crack arrest in ceram.c polycrystals

ntergranular slow crack growth in zirconia polycrystal is described with a cohesive zone m.del that sim.late m.chanically the reaction-rupture m.chanism.underlying stress and environ- m.ntally assisted failure. A 2D polycrystal is considered with cohesive surfaces inserted along the grain boundaries. The anisotropic elastic m.dulus and grain-to-grain m.sorientation are accounted for together with an initial stress state related to the processing. A m.nim.m.load threshold is shown to originate from.the onset of the reaction-rupture m.chanism.to proceed where a m.nim.m.traction is reached locally and from.the m.gnitude of the initial com.ression stresses. This work aim. at providing reliable predictions in long lasting applications of ceram.cs.

Plant long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)have em.rged as im.ortant regulators of chrom.tin dynam.cs,im.acting on transcriptional program. leading to different developm.ntal outputs.The lncRNA AUXIN-REGULATED PROm.TER LOOP(APOLO)directly recognizes m.ltiple independent loci across the Arabidopsis genom. and m.dulates their three-dim.nsional chrom.tin conform.tion,leading to transcriptional shifts.Here,we show that APOLO recognizes the locus encoding the root hair(RH)m.ster regulator ROOT HAIR DEFECTIVE 6(RHD6)and controls RHD6 transcriptional activity,leading to cold-enhanced RH elongation through the consequent activation of the transcription factor gene RHD6-like RSL4.Furtherm.re,we dem.nstrate that APOLO interacts with the transcription factor WRKY42 and m.dulates its binding to the RHD6 prom.ter.WRKY42 is required for the activation of RHD6 by low tem.eratures and WRKY42 deregulation im.airs cold-induced RH expansion.Collectively,our results indicate that a novel ribonucleoprotein com.lex with APOLO and WRKY42 form. a regulatory hub to activate RHD6 by shaping its epigenetic environm.nt and integrate signals governing RH growth and developm.nt.
