The role of liver biopsy in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been challenged over time by the ability of imaging techniques to characterize liver lesions in patients with known *** fact,in the diagnostic algorithm for this tumor,histology is currently relegated to controversial ***,the risk of complications,such as tumor seeding and bleeding,as well as inadequate sampling have further limited the use of liver biopsy for HCC ***,there is growing evidence of prognostic and therapeutic information available from microscopic and molecular analysis of HCC and,as the information content of the tissue sample increases,the advantages of liver biopsy might modify the current risk/benefit *** herein review the role and potentiality of liver biopsy in the diagnosis and management of *** the potentiality of precision medicine comes to the management of HCC,it will be crucial to have rapid pathways to define prognosis,and even treatment,by identifying the patients who could most benefit from target-driven *** of the above reasons suggest that the current role of liver biopsy in the management of HCC needs substantial reconsideration.

In this work we consider the Reduced Basis method for the solution of parametrized advection-reaction partial differential equations. For the generation of the basis we adopt a stabilized finite element method and we define the Reduced Basis method in the ＂primal- dual＂ formulation for this stabilized problem. We provide a priori Reduced Basis error estimates and we discuss the effects of the finite element approximation on the Reduced Basis error. We propose an adaptive algorithm, based on the a posteriori Reduced Basis error estimate, for the selection of the sample sets upon which the basis are built; the idea leading this algorithm is the minimization of the computational costs associated with the solution of the Reduced Basis problem. Numerical tests demonstrate the efficiency, in terms of computational costs, of the ＂primal-dual＂ Reduced Basis approach with respect to an ＂only primal＂ one. Parametrized advection-reaction partial differential equations, Reduced Basis method, ＂primal-dual＂ reduced basis approach, Stabilized finite element method, a posteriori error estimation.

Alzheimer's disease is a multifactorial pathology, for which no cure is currently available. Nowadays, researchers are moving towards a new hypothesis of the onset of the illness, linking it to a metabolic impairment. This innovative approach will lead to the identification of new targets for the preparation of new effective drugs. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors and their ligands are the ideal candidates to reach the necessary breakthrough to defeat this complicate disease.

Crown fire damage is a mixture of three principal fire-related components:charred material,scorched foliage,and unaltered green *** study estimated the abundance of these physical alterations in two immediate post-fire Mediterranean forest contexts(Portugal and Italy)by applying linear spectral mixture analysis(LSMA)on Sentinel-2 *** tree crowns fire damage was subsequently mapped,integrating fractional abundance information in a random forest(RF)algorithm,comparing the accuracy resulting from the adoption of generic or image spectral libraries as the primary investigative *** image-derived endmembers resulted in more effectiveness in terms of fire-related components abundance quantification(LMSAderived RMSEdients,with a prevalence of the charred(PT)(45–46%)and green class(IT)(44–53%).Post-fire temporal monitoring was initialized by applying the proposed strategies,and the preliminary results showed a positive recovery trend in forest vegetation from the first year following the fire event,with a reduced charcoal predominance and an increasing proportion of green components.
