Effects on the quality of frozen-thawed alpaca(Lama pacos)semen using two different cryoprotectants and extenders

Aim： To evaluate two extenders and two cryoprotectant agents （CPA） for alpaca semen cryopreservation. Methods： Semen samples were obtained from four adult alpacas （Lama pacos） and frozen using extender Ⅰ （TRIS, citrate, egg yolk and glucose） or extender Ⅱ （skim milk, egg yolk and fructose）, each containing either glycerol （G） or ethylene glycol （EG） as CPA. Consequently, four groups were formed： 1） extender Ⅰ-G; 2） extender Ⅰ-EG; 3） extender Ⅱ-G; and 4） extender Ⅱ-EG. Semen was diluted in a two-step process： for cooling to 5 ℃ （extenders without CPA）, and for freezing （extenders with CPA）. Viability and acrosome integrity were assessed using trypan blue and Giemsa stains. Results： When compared, the motility after thawing was higher （P 〈 0.05） in groups Ⅱ-EG （20.0 %±6.7 %） and Ⅱ-G （15.3 %±4.1%） than that in groups Ⅰ-G （4.0 %±1.1%） and Ⅰ-EG （1.0 %±1.4 %）. Viable spermatozoa with intact acrosomes in groups Ⅱ-EG （18.7 %±2.9 %） and Ⅱ-G （12.7 %±5.9 %） were higher than that in groups Ⅰ-G （5.7 %±1.5 %） and Ⅰ-EG （4.0 %±1.0 %）. Conclusion： The skim milk- and egg yolk-based extenders containing ethylene glycol or glycerol to freeze alpaca semen seems to promote the survival of more sperm cells with intact acrosomes than the other extenders. （Asian J Androl 2005 Sep; 7： 303-309）

This review focuses on current knowledge on hepato-cyte aquaporins(AQPs)and their significance in bile formation and *** bile secretion results from a combined interaction of several solute transporters and AQP water channels that facilitate water flow in response to the osmotic gradients created. During choleresis,hepatocytes rapidly increase their canalicular membrane water permeability by modulating the abundance of *** question was raised as to whether the opposite process,i.e.a decreased canalicular AQP8 expression would contribute to the development of *** in several experimental models of cholestasis,such as extrahepatic obstructive cholestasis,estrogen-induced cholestasis, and sepsis-induced cholestasis demonstrated that the protein expression of hepatocyte AQP8 was impaired. This paper is an attempt to present an analysis of China＇s decentralization and local governance practices, the dilemmas rooted in the current institution. We argue that the misbehavior of local government officials is endogenous to China＇s central-local structure and that competition among localities has become distorted and constrained by various policy burdens and development mandates imposed from above. The information asymmetry for the enforcement cost of mandates that exists between central and local governments not only leads to difficulties and distortions in local performance evaluations, but also creates opportunities for local bureaucracy expansion and rent-seeking. Enhancingfiscal transfers, or strengthening political restraint, although necessary, would be far from enough to solve the local governance problems. The ultimate solution entails an in-depth deregulation reform on factor mobility and a furthest eradication of policy mandates for the local government.

Online Food Delivery Platforms(OFDPs)has witnessed phenomenal growth in the past few years,especially this year due to the COVID-19 *** Pandemic has forced many governments across the world to give momentum to OFD services and make their presence among the *** Presence of several multinational and national companies in this sector has enhanced the competition and companies are trying to adapt various marketing strategies and exploring the brand experience(BEX)dimension that helps in enhancing the brand equity(BE)of *** are critical for building brand loyalty(BL)and making companies *** can experience different kinds of brand experiences through feeling,emotions,affection,behavior,and *** present research work is taken up to analyze the factors affecting BEX and its impact on BL and BE of the OFDPs and analyze the mediating role of BL in the relationship between BEX and BE of the OFDPs in the Indian context.A survey of 457 Indian customers was carried out.A questionnaire was used for data collection and a mediation study was used to test hypothesized *** computational analysis reveals that BEX influences the BL and BE of *** study further indicates that BL mediates the relationship between BEX and BE of *** effective marketing and relationship management practices will help company to enhance BEX that will enable in enhancing BL and raising BE of their *** therefore provides a more thorough analysis of BEX constructs and their consequences than previous *** of the managerial implication,limitations,and scope of future research are also presented in the study.

Antifungal activity and mode of action of nine essential oils(EOs)against *** cells were *** effects of commercial lemon peel,orange peel,tea tree,turpentine,rosemary,peppermint,thyme,oregano and clove oils were determined through Minimum Inhibitory Concentration(MIC),Minimum Fungicidal Concentration(MFC)and inhibition zone *** most effective oil was turpentine *** peel,thyme and oregano oils were also effective,according to MIC and *** zone measurements,also revealed oregano,orange peel,thyme,turpentine and clove oils as most efficient ***,membrane damage of yeast cells was studied by measuring the extracellular pH and conductivity in a concentration dependent *** peel,turpentine,thyme and oregano oils caused a clear increase in extracellular pH of glucose-induced yeast cells and induced an increase in extracellular *** results point to the deterioration of yeast cell membrane integrity upon exposure to *** these oils can be used as food preservatives and pharmaceutical agents,it is very important to understand their mode of action and their main target sites in the *** this research not only opens new perspectives to understand antifungal activity mechanisms of EOs,but also help widen their use.

Rodents with prevailing subterranean activity usually play an important role in the ecosystems of which they are a part due to the combined effect of herbivory and soil *** is the case for the giant root-rat Tachyoryctes macrocephalus endemic to the Afroalpine ecosystem of the Bale Mountains,*** studied the impact of root-rats on various ecosystem features within a 3.5-ha study locality dominated by Alchemilla pasture,which represents an optimal habitat for this species,in 2 periods of a *** root-rats altered plant species composition,reducing the dominant forb,Alchemilla abyssinica,while enhancing Salvia merjame and a few other species,and reduced vegetation cover,but not the fresh plant *** burrows were abandoned by root-rats,other rodents took them over and *** increased ***-rat burrowing created small-scale heterogeneity in soil compactness due to the backfilling of some unused burrow *** compacted soil tended to be rich in nutrients,including carbon,nitrogen and phosphorus,which likely affected the plant growth on sites where the vegetation has been reduced as a result of root-rat foraging and burrowing.
