Social emotional literacy(SEL)interventions are widely implemented through schools,with growing evidence for a range of positive child ***,such interventions are delivered on online *** date,there is limited evidence about digital SEL interventions in low-and middle-income countries(LMIC).The aim of this study was to explore the perceptions and experiences of children,parents and facilitator of the potential value of addressing SEL via tailored digital *** intervention was designed to help children,in Brazil,to cope during the first COVID-19 pandemic *** intervention was delivered via a digital platform to groups of three children for 45 min per week for *** children,nine parents and nine facilitators were interviewed following the completion of the *** data was analysed through a codebook thematic approach,which led to three themes:empowerment,participatory aspects of the intervention and digital ***,children’s SEL development was reported to be supported during the COVID-19 pandemic,by the application of new skills outside the *** reported a number of empowering factors such as being heard and belonging.A range of useful participatory tools were identified including storytelling,games,drawings and *** SEL interventions involving both face-to-face and web-based facilitation could be developed within a tiered model of universal mental health promotion and targeted *** to online platforms would increase reach to large numbers of children in LMIC,especially in contexts of disadvantage.

Mammalian cell surfaces consist of the plasma membrane supported by an underneath cortical ***,these structures can control not only the shape of cells but also a series of cellular functions ranging from migration and division to exocytosis,endocytosis and ***,the cell surface is capable of exerting and reacting to mechanical *** viscoelastic properties,especially membrane tension and bending modulus,are fundamental parameters involved in these *** viewpoint summarizes our current knowledge on how to measure the viscoelastic properties of cell surfaces employing optical tweezers-based tether assays,paving the way for a better understanding of how cells react to external mechanical forces,with a glance on their remodeling dynamics and possible consequences on downstream cellular processes.

The effect of ZrO2, content on the fracture toughness, flexural strength and Vickers hardness as well as the erosive wear resistan properties of zirconia toughened Al2O3-TiC ceramic composites has been investigated. The results showed that the improvement in fracture toughness and flexure strength of composites with the content of zirconia less than 50% and 10% in mass fraction respectively,is primarily attributed to stress-induced transformation toughening by the analyse of X-ray diffraction. The dependance of erosion wear resistance on the attak angle and the content of ZrO2, panicles of the composites was also revealed. It is found that the erosion rate of the composites has a sharp rise at a attack angle over 65°. This phenomenon is due to a brittle response to the erosion test by microsmictural observation on eroded surface.

Outcome of trabeculectomy in hospital Melaka,Malaysia

AIM:To study the success and outcome of trabeculectomy in Hospital Melaka.· METHODS:Medical records of all patients who underwent trabeculectomy between January 1,2007 and October 31,2010 whom were followed up for at least 6 months postoperatively in Hospital Melaka were retrospectively reviewed.· RESULTS:A total number of 117 eyes of 91 patients with the age range between 12 to 84 years underwent primary trabeculectomy(n =20,17.1%),combine trabeculectomy with cataract surgery(n =90,76.9%),repeat trabeculectomy(n=5,4.3%),and combine repeat trabeculectomy with cataract surgery(n =2,1.7%).The disease spectrum includes primary open-angle glaucoma(POAG)(54 patients,59.3%),priamry angle-closure glaucoma(PACG)(14 patients,15.4%),secondary glaucomas(19 patients,20.9%) and juvenile glaucomas(4 patients,4.4%).Preoperative mean intraocular pressure(IOP) was(24.69±8.67)mmHg as compared to postoperative mean IOP of(15.81±6.66)mmHg,(15.07±4.72)mmHg and(15.68±3.65)mmHg at 6-month,12-month and 24-month ***-two point one percent of eyes(n =96) achieved complete success(CS),12.8%(n =15) with qualified success(QS) and only 5.1%(n = 6) failed at 6 month with two of them warrant other filtering *** twelve months,trabeculectomy with CS was 71.6%(n =63),QS in 22.7%(n =20) and failure in 5.7%(n = 5).Sixty-seven point five percent(n =27) attained CS,20.0%(n =8) with QS while 12.5%(n =5) failed at 24 month postoperative.· CONCLUSION:As the understanding of the lower the IOP,the better the patients retaining the visual function,trabeculectomy is significantly a choice of treatment in uncontrolled *** study concluded that trabeculectomy performed in Hospital Melaka has produced significant success as compared to other studies.·

Prostate cancer （PCa） incidence and mortality have decreased in recent years. Nonetheless, it remains one of the most prevalent cancers in men, being a disquieting cause of men＇s death worldwide. Changes in many cell signaling pathways have a predominant role in the onset, development, and progression of the disease. These include prominent pathways involved in the growth, apoptosis, and angiogenesis of the normal prostate gland, such as an- drogen and estrogen signaling, and other growth factor signaling pathways. Understanding the foundations of PCa is leading to the discovery of key molecules that could be used to improve patient management. The ideal scenario would be to have a panel of molecules, preferably detectable in body fluids, that are specific and sensitive biomarkers for PCa In the early stages, androgen deprivation is the gold standard therapy. However, as the cancer progresses, it even- tually becomes independent of androgens, and hormonal therapy fails. For this reason, androgen-independent PCa is still a major therapeutic challenge. By disrupting specific protein interactions or manipulating the expression of some key molecules, it might be possible to regulate tumor growth and metastasis formation, avoiding the systemic side effects of current therapies. Clinical trials are already underway to assess the efficacy of molecules specially designed to target key proteins or protein interactions. In this review, we address that recent progress made towards under- standing PCa development and the molecular pathways underlying this pathology. We also discuss relevant molecular markers for the management of PCa and new therapeutic challenges.

The present study aimed to evaluate the influence of serum vitamin D levels on semen quality and testosterone *** is a crosssectional study conducted at Androscience,Science and Innovation Center in Andrology and High-Complex Clinical and Andrology Laboratory in Sao Paulo,Brazil,with 508 male patients,aged 18-60 years,from 2007 to *** parameters and serum sexual hormones were correlated with serum vitamin D concentrations in 260 men selected by strict selection *** were divided into normozoospermic group(NZG,n=124)and a group with seminal abnormalities(SAG,n=136).Evaluation included complete physical examination,past medical history,habits and lifestyle factors,two complete seminal analysis with sperm functional tests,serum levels of 25-hydroxy-vitamin D_(3)(25(OH)VD_(3)),total and free testosterone,luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),sex hormone-binding globulin(SHBG),total cholesterol,homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)index,and *** mean concentration of 25(OH)VD_(3)was significantly lower in the SAG(Pue of serum vitamin D_(3)content between normozoospermic patients and those with sperm *** clearly demonstrates a direct and positive relationship between serum vitamin D level and overall semen quality,male reproductive potential,and testosterone levels.

Leishmaniasis is a set of diseases with a worldwide distribution that affects mainly economically underprivileged populations in developing countries. It has a major impact on public health, with a global cost of billions of dollars per year. The treatment and control of leishmaniasis vary according to the Leishmania species involved, which require reliable methods for species identification. Since most of the currently used methods have limitations, there is a need for assays that allow rapid, precise identification of the offending species. Real-time polymerase chain reactions in conjunction with dissociation curve analysis have been used to detect differences in the DNA composition of selected genes of Leishmania spp. Kinetoplast DNA is the main molecular target used because of its high copy number per parasite, but other targets have also been studied. As part of an effort to establish melting temperature standards for each target gene, we have reviewed the pertinent literature available in public databases, including Pub Med, Web of Science, Sci ELO and LILACS, using the keywords "Leishmania", "leishmaniasis", "realtime PCR", "melting temperature", and "melting curve", alone or in combination. After applying eligibility criteria, 27 articles were selected for analysis. A considerable variation in the methodologies analyzed was found regarding molecular targets, standardization of the methods, reproducibility and specificity. Because of this, statistical analysis was not performed. In most cases, the methods were able to differentiate the parasite at the subgenus level or few species regardless of the target chosen.
