cONSPEcTUS:Temperature responsive supramolecular hydrogels,also known as thermogels,are produced by the self-assembly of amphiphilic copolymers in solution following temperature *** are a class of high caliber novel materials possessing highly attractive properties such as injectability,ability to undergo temperature controlled reversible sol−gel phase transitions,high biocompatibility,and tunable *** research vigor has been dedicated to designing advanced amphiphilic copolymers and investigating their molecular interactions in order to enhance the properties of the thermogelling systems and expand the scope of their *** such,thermogelling systems have since become well established in the field of sustained localized drug or protein delivery and have also been demonstrated as high potential materials for niche applications such as threedimensional cell culture,wound healing patches,and vitreous *** developments saw the advent of thermogelling systems with advanced biomedical applications ranging from enhanced cancer therapy to radiology imaging to tissue engineering,and these are usually achieved by the conjugating of biologically relevant molecules such as drugs and peptides to the thermogel copolymer or by incorporating nanoparticles into the thermogel *** developments in this field see a shift away from employing traditional synthetic polymers such as polypropylene glycol(PPG)and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)to utilizing more advanced nature-derived bioactive molecules and also introducing chiral moieties in the thermogelling copolymer backbone.

Background:Excessive heat exposure can lead to hyperthermia in humans,which impairs physical performance and disrupts cognitive *** heat is a known physiological stressor,it is unclear how severe heat stress affects brain physiology and ***:Eleven healthy participants were subjected to heat stress from prolonged exercise or warm water immersion until their rectal temperatures(T_(re))attained 39.5℃,inducing exertional or passive hyperthermia,*** a separate trial,blended ice was ingested before and during exercise as a cooling *** were compared to a control condition with seated rest(normothermic).Brain temperature(T_(br)),cerebral perfusion,and task-based brain activity were assessed using magnetic resonance imaging ***:T_(br)in motor cortex was found to be tightly regulated at rest(37.3℃±0.4℃(mean±SD))despite fluctuations in T_(re).With the development of hyperthermia,T_(br)increases and dovetails with the rising T_(re).Bilateral motor cortical activity was suppressed during high-intensity plantarflexion tasks,implying a reduced central motor drive in hyperthermic participants(T_(re)=38.5℃±0.1℃).Global gray matter perfusion and regional perfusion in sensorimotor cortex were reduced with passive *** function was poorer under a passive hyperthermic state,and this could relate to compromised visual processing as indicated by the reduced activation of left lateral-occipital ***,ingestion of blended ice before and during exercise alleviated the rise in both T_(re)and T_(bc)and mitigated heat-related neural ***:Severe heat exposure elevates T_(br),disrupts motor cortical activity and executive function,and this can lead to impairment of physical and cognitive performance.

Degradation and resynthesis of chlorophyll during increased oxidative stress and prolonged darkness differ between annual and perennial flax(Linum L.)

Unintended targeting of Dmp1-cre reveals a critical role for Bmpr1a signaling in the gastrointestinal mesenchyme of adult mice

cre/loxP technology has been widely used to study cell type-specific functions of genes. Proper interpretation of such data critically depends on a clear understanding of the tissue specificity of cre expression. The Dmpl- cre mouse, expressing cre from a 14-kb DNA fragment of the mouse Dmpl gene, has become a common tool for studying gene function in osteocytes, but the presumed cell specificity is yet to be fully established. By using the Ai9 reporter line that expresses a red fluorescent protein upon cre recombination, we find that in 2-month-old mice, Dmpl-cre targets not only osteocytes within the bone matrix but also osteoblasts on the bone surface and preosteoblasts at the metaphyseal chondro-osseous junction. In the bone marrow, cre activity is evident in certain stromal cells adjacent to the blood vessels, but not in adipocytes. Outside the skeleton, Dmpl-cre marks not only the skeletal muscle fibers, certain cells in the cerebellum and the hindbrain but also gastric and intestinal mesenchymal cells that express Pdgfra. confirming the utility of Dmpl-cre in the gastrointestinal mesenchyme, deletion of Bmprla with Dmpl-cre causes numerous large polyps along the gastrointestinal tract, consistent with prior work involving inhibition of BMP signaling. Thus, caution needs to be exercised when using Dmpl-cre because it targets not only the osteoblast lineage at an earlier stage than previously appreciated, but also a number of non-skeletal cell types.

目的分析单孔腹腔镜胃袖状切除术(SPSG)在单中心临床应用的初步经验与结果,探讨SPSG在高BMI病人中应用的安全性和有效性。方法回顾性分析2023年2月至2024年6月复旦大学附属华东医院行SPSG的265例病人的临床资料。所有纳入病人分为BMI≥50组(21例)、40≤BMI0.05)。结论高BMI并不是SPSG的绝对禁忌证,充分的术前评估、准备及恰当的术中处置对于SPSG的规范开展具有重要意义。
