This study aimed to evaluate the development of healthcare teamwork during and after the collaboration tabletop exercises,through observation and interview *** and maturity theoretical models were employed to explain the collaborative challenges in teams that may suffer from unequally distributed power,hierarchies,and *** three-level collaboration tabletop exercises and the Command and control,safety,Communication,Assessment,Treatment,Triage,Transport(CsCATTT)instrument,100 healthcare workers were observed during each step in the implementation of the CsCATTT instrument using two simulated *** results show a lack of integration and team maturity among participants in the first scenario,leading to the delayed start of the activity,task distribution,and decision *** shortcomings were improved in the second ***-depth interviews with 20 participants in the second phase of the study revealed improved knowledge and practical skills,self-confidence,and ability in team building within trans-professional groups in the second scenario,which in concordance with the integration theory,was due to the attempts made in the first ***,there was an improvement in the team’s maturity,which in concordance with the maturity theory,was due to the knowledge and practical skills during scenario *** results indicate the importance of continuous tabletop training,and the use of CsCATTT as a collaborative instrument,to promote the development of collaboration and to test the concept of preparedness.

This study measured the impact of virtual three-level collaboration (3lC) exercises on participants’ perceived levels of collaboration, learning, and utility (ClU) at hospitals in the southern region of saudi Arabia. Our 3lC exercise is a tabletop training tool used to facilitate disaster education and document ClU. This model enables the practitioner to acquire new knowledge and promotes active learning. An English version of the ClU scale, the validated swedish survey tool, was applied to 100 healthcare managers or leaders in various positions at both the operational and tactical levels after conducting the 3lC exercises. The response rate was 100%, although not all questions were answered in some cases. The results show that most participants strongly agreed that the exercises focused on collaboration (r^(2) = 0.767) and that they had acquired new knowledge during the exercises. There was a statistically significant association between participation in the collaboration exercises and perceived learning (r^(2) = 0.793), as well as between perceived learning and utility (r^(2) = 0.811). The collaboration exercises enhance the perceived effects of ClU. They also improve the ability of participants to adapt situational strategies to achieve a safer society. Although exercises were conducted virtually, they were well received by the participants and achieved a value M = 4.4 ClU score, which opens up new dimensions in collaboration simulation exercises.

A large amount of experimental work has been carried out in the past tounderstand mean and fluctuating forces on a single circular cylinder in cross flows. In comparisonsubstantially less work can be found on the interference between multiple cylinders and the numberof publications a-vailable becomes drastically smaller as the number of cylinders involvedincreases. The current experimental work systematically examines the wake shielding effects of threecylinders in a towing tank. Though staggered, the three cylinders are arranged mainly along theflow direction with the downstream cylinders situating in the wakes of the upstream cylinders. Thetests are mainly carried out in the sub-critical Reynolds number regime with the upper end close tothe critical Reynolds number regime. significant drag reduction on downstream cylinders isidentified.

Application of EBsD technique to ultrafine grained and nanostructured materials processed by severe plastic deformation:sample preparation, parameters optimization and analysis

With the help of FEsEM, high resolution electron backscatter diffraction can investigate the grains/subgrains as small as a few tens of nanometers with a good angular resolution （~0.5°）. Fast development of EBsD speed （up to 1100 patterns per second） contributes that the number of published articles related to EBsD has been increasing sharply year by year. This paper reviews the sample preparation, parameters optimization and analysis of EBsD technique, emphasizing on the investigation of ultrafine grained and nanostructured materials processed by severe plastic deformation （sPD）. Detailed and practical parameters of the electropolishing, silica polishing and ion milling have been summarized. It is shown that ion milling is a real universal and promising polishing method for EBsD preparation of almost all materials. There exists a maximum value of indexed points as a function of step size. The optimum step size depends on the magnification and the board resolution/electronic step size. Grains/subgrains and texture, and grain boundary structure are readily obtained by EBsD. strain and stored energy may be analyzed by EBsD.

Actors in a position to brokerage and connect otherwise disconnected parts of a social network are rich in structural holes. structural holes can leverage performance, but in this paper I hypothesize that structural holes will also increase the size of an investment. studying a network of technology entrepreneurs - mostly farmers - who have built their own hydroelectric micro-power plants in rural Norway, I find that structural holes are positively associated with the size of the plants being built. The empirical support of the hypothesis can have implications for our understanding of risk taking and decision making beyond the studied context. The use of instrumental variables is indicative of robust internal validity. I also find that the entrepreneurs’ formal level of education is positively associated with the size of the plants being built.

In crisis management, cross-sector collaboration exercises are perceived as improving preparedness and develop team-integration efforts. However, studies show that exercises may tend to produce results with limited learning and usefulness. The purpose of this nonexperimental, survey-based study was to measure the difference in perceived exercise effect between participants belonging to the exercise planning organizations and participants belonging to other participating groups. surveys were distributed and collected from participants in a 2017 chemical oil-spill exercise set off the southern coast of Norway. The target population was operational staff,excluding exercise management and directing staff. The sample population consisted of operatives associated with the exercise organizer organization and others belonging to external public and nongovernmental emergency organizations. The data collection instrument was the 'Collaboration, learning, and Utility scale’’(ClU-scale). Findings indicated that the levels of ClU were higher among external participants than among those individuals who belong to the exercise planning organizations. This study recommends the development and adoption of a national maritime collaboration exercise framework. A practical implication is a recommendation to evaluate exercises to secure the outcome regarding collaboration skill using the same instrument.

Characterization of microstructure and strain response in Ti-6Al-4V plasma welding deposited material by combined EBsD and in-situ tensile test

Additive layer manufacturing （AlM） of aerospace grade titanium components shows great promise in supplying a cost-effective alternative to the conventional production routes. Complex microstructures comprised of columnar remnants of directionally solidifiedβ-grains, with interior inhabited by colonies of finerα-plate structures, were found in samples produced by layered plasma welding of Ti-6Al-4V alloy. The application of in-situ tensile tests combined with rapid offline electron backscatter diffraction （EBsD） analysis provides a powerful tool for understanding and drawing qualitative correlations between microstructural features and deformation characteristics. Non-uniform deformation occurs due to a strong variation in strain response between colonies and across columnar grain boundaries. Prismatic and basal slip systems are active, with the prismatic systems contributing to the most severe deformation through coarse and widely spaced slip lines. Certain colonies behave as microstructural units, with easy slip transmission across the entire colony. Other regions exhibit significant deformation mismatch, with local build-up of strain gradients and stress concentration. The segmentation occurs due to the growth morphology and variant constraints imposed by the columnar solidification structures through orientation relationships, interface alignment and preferred growth directions. Tensile tests perpendicular to columnar structures reveal deformation localization at columnar grain boundaries. In this work connections are made between the theoretical macro- and microstructural growth mechanisms and the observed microstructure of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy, which in turn is linked to observations during in-situ tensile tests.

Numerical study of Flow Near River Outlet in Namtso lake

A river plume dynamics analysis was made in Namtso lake by using a sigma coordinate non-hydrostatic numerical ocean model, the Bergen Ocean Model. simulations were carried out by hydrostatic and non-hydrostatic models with horizontal resolution of 5.00 m, 2.50 m and 1, 25 m, respectively. The simulation results for the homogeneous lake are robust to the grid size, and the non-hydrostatic pressure effect is not important in this ease. For the stratified case, the results are sensitive to both the grid size and non-hydrostatic pressure corrections.

Towards Cloud to Device Push Messaging on Android:Technologies,Possibilities and Challenges

In this paper we look at different push messaging alternatives available for Android. Push messaging provides an important aspect of server to device communication, and we.specifically focus on the integration of cloud computing with mobile devices through the use of push-based technologies. By conducting a benchmarking test, we investigate the performance of four relevant push technologies for the Android platform, namely C2DM, XMPP, Xtify and Urban Airship. The comparison focuses on three aspects of the libraries: 1) The stability;2) Response times;and 3) Energy consumption. The test is conducted on both WlAN and 3G, and includes several mobile device types. Additionally, we also integrate with the Google App Engine to provide the cloud integration server that is responsible for sending push messages to the mobile devices.
