The high-resolution micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) system has now become an important tool for biological research. The micro-CT system enables a non-invasive inspection to screen anatomical changes in small animals. The promising advantages include high-spatial resolution, high sensitivity to bone and lung, short scan time and cost-e ectiveness. The dose received by the small animal might be a critical concern in the research. In this article, the choice of the components, fundamental physical problems, the image recon- struction algorithm and the representative applications of micro-CT are summarized. Some results from our research group are also pre- sented to show high-resolution images obtained by the micro-CT system.

Objective:The objective of this study was to investigate the application of unenhanced computed tomography(CT)texture analysis in differentiating pancreatic adenosquamous carcinoma(PASC)from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).Methods:Preoperative CT images of 112 patients(31 with PASC,81 with PDAC)were retrospectively reviewed.A total of 396 texture parameters were extracted from AnalysisKit software for further texture *** features were selected for the differentiation of PASC and PDAC by the Mann-Whitney U test,univariate logistic regression analysis,and the minimum redundancy maximum relevance ***,receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis was performed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the texture feature-based model by the random forest(RF)***,the robustness and reproducibility of the predictive model were assessed by the 10-times leave-group-out cross-validation(LGOCV)method.

Tomographic perfusion imaging is a significant imaging modality for stroke ***,the low rotational speed of the C-arm(6–8 s per circle)is a challenge for applying perfusion imaging in C-arm cone beam computed tomography(CBCT).Traditional reconstruction methods cannot remove the artifacts caused by the slow rotational speed or acquire enough sample points to restore the time density curve(TDC).This paper presents a dynamic rollback reconstruction method for *** proposed method can improve the temporal resolution by increasing the sample points used for calculating the *** with existing techniques,the algorithm allows slow-rotating scanners to be used for perfusion imaging *** the experiments,the proposed method was compared with other dynamic reconstruction algorithms based on standard reconstruction and the temporal interpolation *** presented algorithm could improve the temporal resolution without increasing the X-ray exposure time or contrast agent.

Poly(2-oxazoline)(POx)is a kind of polymeric amides that can be viewed as conformational isomers of polypeptides with excellent cyto-and hemo-compatibility,and is promising to be used as drug ***,the drug loading capacity(DLC)of POx for many drugs is still low except several hydrophobic ones including paclitaxel(PTX).Herein,we prepared a series of amphiphilic POx block copolymers with various functional groups,and investigated the relationship between functional structures and the *** POxs with benzyl,carboxyl,and amino groups in the side-chain were synthesized based on a poly(2-methyl-2-oxazoline)-block-poly(2-buty1-2-oxazoline-co-2-buteny1-2-oxazoline)(PMeOx-P(nBuOx-co-ButenOx),PMBEOx)precursor,followed by click reaction between vinyl and the 2-phenylethanethiol,thioglycolic acid and *** thin-film hydration method,eight commonly used drugs with various characteristics were encapsulated within these functional POx *** found that amine-containing drugs were more easily encapsulated by POx with carboxyl groups,while amine functionalities in POx enhanced the loading capacity of drugs with carboxyl *** addition,n-n interactions resulted in enhanced DLC of most drugs,except several hydrophobic drugs with aromatic to total carbon ratios less than *** general,we could successfully encapsulate all the selected drugs with a DLC%over 10%using properly selected functional *** above results confirm that the DLC of polymeric carriers can be adjusted by modifying the functional groups,and the prepared series of functional POxs provide an option for various drug loadings.

High-performance anode is hurdle for on-chip planar microsupercapacitor(MSC).Polypyrrole(PPy)is a highly attractive pseudocapacitive material,but its low cycling stability,and low adhesion with current collector hinder its *** we propose one-prong generic strategy to boost the cycling stability of *** our strategy,the electrochemical deposition of multilayered reduced graphene oxide(rGO)on micropatterned Au is utilized,and the resultant rGO@Au pattern is then used for growing highly porous PPy nanostructures by facile electrochemical *** fabricated PPy anode on rGO@Au has quasi rectangular cyclic voltammetry curves up to-0.7 V and exceptional cycling stability,retaining82%of capacitance after 10,000 charge/discharge cycles in 2 M KCl *** outstanding reliability of PPy on rGO@Au is due to the flexibility of rGO,accommodating structural pulverization and providing a promising background for the nucleation of highly porous ***,an all-polymer based asymmetric aqueous MSC(AMSC)is constructed with PPy anode and PEDOT cathode,which exhibited excellent electrochemical performance compared with conventional symmetric MSCs based on conducting *** constructed AMSC delivered a maximum areal capacitance of 15.9 m F cm^-2(99.3 F cm^-3),high specific energy and power densities of 4.3μWh cm^-2(27.03 mWh cm^-3)and 0.36 W cm^-2(0.68 W cm^-3)at 1.4 V,*** enhanced electrochemical performances can be illustrated by nucleation mechanism,in which surface topology of r GO generates a promising background for nucleation and electrochemical growth of nanoporous pseudocapacitive conducting polymers with superior interfacial contact and improved surface area.

At the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS),a high orbital stability of typically 10% of the beam size and angular divergence must be *** beam size at the insertion devices is 10μm horizontally and 1μm vertically,which implies that the beam orbit must be stabilized to the sub-micrometer *** results in stringent tolerance and quality control requirements for the series production of beam position monitor (BPM) *** this study,analytical formulas were used and CST simulations were performed to analyze the effects of the mechanical tolerances of BPM pickups on beam position *** results of electromagnetic?eld simulations revealed how various mechanical errors,such as button size and location accuracy,as well as the related button capacitance,exert different in?uences on the beam position *** performance of an actual BPM pickup was measured,along with an assessment of the error on the beam position ***,a wake?eld analysis,including an investigation of trapped resonant modes and related thermal deformation,was conducted.

Plant-herbivore interactions are among the most important factors shaping plant community dynamics and ecosystem functioning. The latitudinal herbivory hypothesis proposed that insect herbivory rates decline with increasing latitudes owing to benign environmental conditions in the tropics, but studies have produced contradictory conclusions[1–3].
