Oxidation and Coatings f.r Power Generation： New Super Ultra Critical Steam Turbines

The steels with chromium contents between 9%and 12%wt are used f.r power plants with advanced steam oxidation *** present good creep properties as 9%Cr steels and good oxidation resistance,at the temperatures range between 500℃～600℃.In the last years numerous investigation in development of.coatings has been realized with the aim the protected them against the oxidation in order to allow operation of.steam turbines at 650℃.In this study,Al-Hf.protective coatings were deposited by CVD-f.R on f.rritic steel HCM-12A f.llowed by a dif.usion heat treatment,have shown to be protective at 650℃under steam f.r at least 3000 hours of.laboratory steam exposure under atmospheric *** and composition of.coatings were characterized by dif.erent techniques, such as scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron probe microanalysis,and X-ray dif.raction(XRD). On the other hand,volatile species by mass spectrometry(MS) and thermogravimetric measurements (TG) during the initial stages oxidation of.the P92 f.rritic steel without and of.Al and Al/Si coating by chemical vapour deposition in f.uidized bed reactors(CVD-f.R) at 650℃in Ar+20%H_2O f.r 150 h were *** order to go f.rward to coatings design the Thermocalc code is used as base f.r the MSdata. TG-MS experiments were conducted in a closed steam loop in order to obtain inf.rmation about the oxyhydroxides f.rmation as reaction between coatings and *** those results the role of.the dif.erent coating element could be established and optimized f.r the coating *** oxidation mechanism based on the TG-MS results is *** morphology/composition and structure of.the oxidized samples were also studied using SEM/EDS and XRD techniques.

An analysis of.the sectorial structure of.energy consumption shows that residential and tertiary sector buildings are the third-highest consumers,responsible f.r 29.5%of.a city’s f.nal energy *** Building Quality Control Laboratory of.the Basque Government aims to promote quality,innovation,and sustainability in *** accomplish this goal,it has constructed an experimental f.cility with dif.erent energy generation technologies and a very versatile control system f.r testing dif.erent energy systems and operation *** this study,we tested a f.cility f.r supplying domestic hot water and heating f.r a multi-f.mily house by means of.a condensing boiler and an aerothermal heat pump(together with the corresponding control).This installation could reproduce the thermal demands required to be satisf.ed by the generation equipment through a programmed operation of.the installation based on real ***,this installation was analyzed using thermoeconomics(TE)to solve problems unable to be solved using traditional energy analyses based on the f.rst Law of.*** problems include:(1)Determining the costs of.the products of.the installation based on physical criteria,(2)detecting the places where losses actually occur,evaluating their costs,and proposing cost-ef.ective improvements,and(3)diagnosing issues in the *** a result,this paper suggests a solution to the preventive maintenance problems conf.onting the technical maintenance personnel f.r thermal installations in buildings by applying TE knowledge and using real data collected f.om sensors.

Background Pediatric cancer survivors are at increased risk of.muscle weakness and low areal bone mineral density(aBMD).However,the prevalence of.muscle strength def.cits is not well documented,and the associations of.muscle strength with aBMD are unknown in this ***,this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of.upper-and lower-body muscle strength def.cits and to examine the associations of.upper-and lower-body muscle strength with age-,sex,and race-specif.c aBMD Z-scores at the total body,total hip,f.moral neck,and lumbar *** This cross-sectional study included 116 pediatric cancer survivors(12.1±3.3 years old,mean±SD;42.2%f.male).Upper-and lower-body muscle strength were assessed by handgrip and standing long j.mp test,***‑energy X‑ray absorptiometry was used to measure aBMD(g/cm2).Associations between muscle strength and aBMD were evaluated in multivariable linear regression *** regression was used to evaluate the contribution of.muscle strength(1-decile lower)to the odds of.having low aBMD(Z-score≤1.0).All analyses were adj.sted f.r time f.om treatment completion,radiotherapy exposure,and body mass *** More than one-half.of.survivors were within the 2 lowest deciles f.r upper-(56.9%)and lower-body muscle strength(60.0%)in comparison to age-and sex-specif.c ref.rence *** strength def.cits were associated with lower aBMD Z-scores at all sites(B=0.133–0.258,p=0.001–0.032).Each 1-decile lower in upper-body muscle strength was associated with 30%–95%higher odds of.having low aBMD Z-scores at all *** 1-decile lower in lower-body muscle strength was associated with 35%–70%higher odds of.having low aBMD Z-scores at total body,total hip,and f.moral *** Muscle strength def.cits are prevalent in young pediatric cancer survivors,and such def.cits are associated with lower aBMD Z-scores at all *** results suggest that interventions designed to improve muscle strength in t

Multidimensional integration and multif.nctional com-ponent assembly have been greatly explored in recent years to extend Moore’s Law of.modern ***,this inevitably exac-erbates the inhomogeneity of.temperature distribution in microsystems,making precise temperature control f.r electronic components extremely ***,we report an on-chip micro temperature controller including a pair of.thermoelectric legs with a total area of.50×50μm^(2),which are f.bricated f.om dense and f.at f.eestanding Bi2Te3-based ther-moelectric nano f.lms deposited on a newly developed nano graphene oxide membrane *** tunable equivalent thermal resistance is controlled by electrical currents to achieve energy-ef.icient temperature control f.r low-power electronics.A large cooling temperature dif.erence of.44.5 K at 380 K is achieved with a power consumption of.only 445μW,resulting in an ultrahigh temperature control capability over 100 K mW^(-1).Moreover,an ultra-f.st cooling rate exceeding 2000 K s^(-1) and excellent reliability of.up to 1 million cycles are *** proposed on-chip temperature controller is expected to enable f.rther miniaturization and multif.nctional integration on a single chip f.r microelectronics.

The identif.cation of.j.ts originating f.om quarks and gluons,of.en ref.rred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses perf.rmed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches f.r new particles decaying to quarks of.en rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of.the ef.iciencies of.quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of.140 f.^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perf.rmances in rej.cting j.ts f.om gluon over j.ts f.om quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of.inner-detector tracks associated with the j.t,and the other combines several j.t substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon f.action in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples def.ned by the j.t *** in tagging ef.iciency between data and simulation are provided f.r j.ts with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and f.r multiple tagger working points.

The present contributions deal with the development and implementation of.the direct and adj.int incompressible Navie-Stokes equations in a matrix-f.ee time-stepping context making use of.the open-source Openf.AM~ （open source f.eld operation and manipulation） C ＋＋ tool- box. It is shown that a f.w minor modif.cations in the source code can enable these multi-purpose computational f.uid dynamics （Cf.） solvers to carry out global instability analysis of.three- dimensional f.ows of.engineering interest, exploiting all additional capabilities of.such codes. The strength of.this methodology is demonstrated through the analysis of.an interesting selection of.ooen and wall-bounded f.ows.

Photosynthetic Regulation of.the Cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 Thioredoxin System and f.nctional Analysis of.TrxB （Trx x） and TrxQ （Trx y） Thioredoxins

The expression of.the genes encoding the f.rredoxin-thioredoxin system including the f.rredoxin-thioredoxin reductase （f.R） genes f.rC and f.rV and the f.ur dif.erent thioredoxin genes trxA （m-type; sir0623）, trxB （x-type; sir1139）, trxC （sll1057） and trxQ （y-type; sir0233） of.the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 has been studied according to changes in the photosynthetic conditions. Experiments of.light-dark transition indicate that the expression of.all these genes except trxQ decreases in the dark in the absence of.glucose in the growth medium. The use of.two electron transport inhibitors, 3-（3,4-dichlorophenyl）-1,1-dimethylurea （DCMU） and 2,5-dibromo-3-methyl-6-isopropyl-p- benzoquinone （DBMIB）, reveals a dif.erential ef.ect on thioredoxin genes expression being trxC and trxQ almost unaf.ected, whereas trxA, trxB, and the f.r genes are down-regulated. In the presence of.glucose, DCMU does not af.ect gene expression but DBMIB still does. Analysis of.the single TrxB or TrxQ and the double TrxB TrxQ Synechocystis mutant strains reveal dif.erent f.nctions f.r each of.these thioredoxins under dif.erent growth conditions. f.nally, a Synechocystis strain was generated containing a mutated version of.TrxB （TrxBC34S）, which was used to identif. the potential in-vivo targets of.this thioredoxin by a proteomic analysis.

The load partitioning between the magnesium and titanium phases in an extruded Mg-15%Ti(vol.%) composite f.om room temperature up to 300 ℃ using synchrotron radiation dif.raction during in-situ compression tests. During compression, the magnesium matrix composite def.rms mainly by the activation of.the extension twinning system up to 200 ℃. The volume f.action of.twins increases with the plastic strain but decrease with the compression temperature. Hard titanium particles bear an additional load transf.rred by the sof. magnesium matrix f.om room temperature up to 300 ℃. This ef.ect is amplif.ed af.er yield stress during plastic def.rmation. Additionally, twins within magnesium grains behaves as an additional reinf.rcement at low temperature(below 200 ℃) inducing an increase in the work hardening of.the composite.
