The material. studied were l.teritic soil. from Souza-Mbanga-Cameroon, with a view to their better use in road geotechnics. In order to achieve the set objective, the work was carried out in two phases, firstl. in the fiel., to provide a morpho-structural.description of the soil.profil.s, fol.owed by a l.boratory phase to anal.se the sampl.s col.ected in the fiel.. The resul.s of the physical.characterisation of the soil.sampl.s show that, for average val.es, the water content is 9.87%, the percentage of fines 48%, the pl.sticity index 21.6%, the l.quidity l.mit 50.91%, and the consistency index 1.97. These soil. are cl.ssified as sil.y sands in the l.PC cl.ssification and as fine soil. in the GTR cl.ssification. The average val.e of the maximum dry density is 1.81 g/cm3 and that of the water content at the modified Proctor optimum is 16.24%. The CBR index is between 1.8% and 17.8%, showing that these soil. bel.ng to cl.sses S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5. Souza-Mbanga l.teritic soil. can be used in their natural.state as subgrades.

Previous studies have documented the occurrence of gl.phosate-resistant （GR） goosegrass （El.usine indica （l.） Gaertn.） and, in at l.ast some cases, resistance is due to an al.ered target site. Research was performed to determine if an al.ered target site was responsibl. for GR in a Tennessee, United States goosegrass popul.tion （TennGR）. DNA sequencing reveal.d a mutation in TennGR pl.nts conferring the Prol.6Ser 5-enol.yruvyl.hikimate-3-phosphate synthase （EPSPS） substitution previousl. identified in other GR popul.tions. F2 popul.tions were derived from TennGR pl.nts crossed with pl.nts from a gl.phosate-susceptibl. popul.tion （TennGS） and anal.zed for their response to gl.phosate and genotyped at the EPSPS l.cus. Pl.nts from the F2 popul.tions segregated 1：2：1 sensitive：intermediate：resistant in response to a sel.c- tive dose of gl.phosate, and these responses co-segregated with the EPSPS genotypes （PP106, PS106, and SS106）. To separatel. investigate the effect of the Prol.6Ser substitution on GR, gl.phosate dose-response curves and 50% effective dose （EDso） val.es were compared among the three genotypes and the two parental.popul.tions. The SS106 genotype was 3.4-fol. resistant rel.tive to the PP106 genotype, identical.to the resistance l.vel.obtained when comparing the resistant and susceptibl. parental.popul.tions. We concl.de that the mutation conferring a Prol.6Ser EPSPS mutation is sol.l. responsibl. for GR in the TennGR goosegrass popul.tion.

Osteopontin (OPN) is a protein found at higher concentrations in the seminal.pl.sma of bul.s with above average fertil.ty. Pol.morphisms have been reported within the OPN gene promoter that can affect production of this protein and thus, affect fertil.ty. Therefore, Angus (n = 5) and Angus x Gel.vieh (Bal.ncer, n = 14) and Angus x Brahman (n = 15) bul.s were eval.ated for presence of singl. nucl.otide pol.morphisms (SNP) in the Bos taurus OPN gene (GenBank: AY878328.1) promoter region, and their possibl. effects on bul. semen qual.ty as eval.ated by computer-assisted semen anal.sis (CASA). Semen was col.ected by el.ctroejacul.tion 6 to 9 times from each bul., and each semen col.ection was eval.ated by CASA for motil., progressive and rapid sperm within 5 mins of ejacul.tion. The bul.s were genotyped for reported singl. nucl.otide pol.morphisms (SNP) in the promoter region of the OPN gene through ampl.fication of two 700 base pair (bp) DNA fragments and sequencing of the resul.ing PCR products. Seven SNP sites were identified, at bp 3379, 3490, 3492, 5075, 5205, 5209, and 5263 of the OPN gene. The SNP identified at bp 5205, 5209 and 5263 had not been previousl. reported. Individual.SNP sites were eval.ated as the main effect on CASA sperm motil.ty variabl.s in a SAS MIXED model.for repeated measures. A thymine to guanine substitution at bp 3379 was associated with increased (P ≤ 0.02) percentage of motil., progressive and rapid sperm in Angus x Brahman bul.s, and tended (P ≤ 0.10) to increase the same sperm motil.ty parameters in Angus, and Angus x Gel.vieh bul.s. The percentages of motil., progressive and rapid sperm were simil.r (P ≥ 0.05) among genotypes for the other 6 SNP identified. These resul.s suggest that identification and genotyping of pol.morphisms within the promoter region of the bovine OPN gene may be useful.for sel.cting bul.s with improved sperm motil.ty parameters.

飞秒激光得益于其精准、微创等优势被广泛应用于屈光疾病的治疗。在飞秒激光屈光手术中,光学系统的数值孔径是影响手术效果的重要参数。本研究旨在探讨数值孔径对飞秒激光角膜基质切削质量的影响规律,以帮助临床医生更好地选择合适的手术参数。选用0.16、0.30、0.80三种数值孔径进行离体动物角膜的飞秒激光切削实验,并通过气泡尺寸与凋亡细胞比例评估激光切削质量与基质细胞损伤程度。实验结果显示:气泡体积随着数值孔径的增大而减小,高数值孔径下切割更易实现基质层的分离;上述三种数值孔径下的基质细胞损伤比例分别为9.4%、4.9%和1.0%,基质细胞的损伤比例随着数值孔径的增大而明显下降。因此,增大数值孔径有助于提高飞秒激光角膜基质切削的安全性。

Mul.istage decision making is either under certainty or uncertainty data conditions. Expected monetary val.es’ perfect information and monetary l.ss or gain at each stage of decision making are the research topics of a constrained decision making under risk. In the mul.istage decision making process, one stage’s decision interferes with the subsequent stage’s decision. In this paper, a simpl. study on decision making for creating Avionic infrastructure within the Odisha region is emphasized by using the mathematical.l.gic tool.on a case study probl.m. In this case study, the first stage D1 has two options, either construct or not construct new airports with util.zing the budgeted al.ot money. Each option’s outcome probabil.ty, conditional.val.e and expected outcome val.e are determined by appl.ing arithmetic and l.gical.cal.ul.tions to next two stages D2 and D3. The expected val.e and percentage of returns are mentioned in the decision trees designed in Section 3. The nodes of the decision tree are stages or chance nodes and the arc l.nes’ l.bel. are mentioned from the appropriate expressions written in the decision tree and chance nodes tabl. mentioned in Section 4.
