Strain in GaN/Si<111> by RBS/Channeling

GaN film grown on Si substrate was characterized by Rutherford backscattering/Channeling (RBS/C). The experimental results show that the thick- ness of GaN epilayer is about 2.5 μm and the GaN film has a good crystalline quality (Xmin=3.3%). By using channeling angular scanning. the 0.35% of average tetragonal distortion in GaN layer is observed. In addition, the depth profiles of strain in GaN film layer reveal that the strain in GaN film nonlinearly decreases with the increase of film thickness. The strain-free thickness (above 2.5 μm) of GaN film on Si substrate is far below that (150μm) of GaN film on Sapphire.

The influence of the high temperature processing on the strain stored in SiGe hetero-epilayer was studied by means of RBS/Channeling. Channeling angular scan along the , axial direction in the (100) plane was used to characterize the tetragonal distortion in the SiGe strained layer. The strained crystal structure parameters were acquired by combining the determination of strain with the elasticity theory. It is shown that the strain stored in the SiGe epilayer has significantly change (relaxation factor from 0.023 to 0.84) after high temperature annealing. The potential strain relaxation mechanisms were discussed.

Si/SiGe/Si heterostructures grown by ultra-high-vacuum chemical vapor deposition (UHVCVD) werecharacterized by Rutherford backscattering/Channeling (RBS/C) together with high resolution X ray diffraction(HRXRD). High quality SiGe base layer was obtained. The Si/SiGe/Si heterostructures were subject to conventionalfurnace annealing and rapid thermal annealing with temperature between 750 ℃ and 910 ℃. Both strain and its re-laxation degree in SiGe layer are calculated by HRXRD combined with elastic theory, which are never reported inother literatures. The rapid thermal annealing at elevated temperature between 880 ℃ and 910 ℃ for very short timehad almost no influence on the strain in Si0.84Ge0. 16 epilayer. However, high temperature (900℃) furnace annealingfor 1h prompted the strain in Si0.84Ge0.16 layer to relax.

Nowadays manufacturers are facing fierce *** from the products,providing customers with multiple maintenance options in the service contract becomes more popular,since it can help to improve customer satisfaction,and ultimately promote sales and maximize profit for the *** considering the combinations of corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance,totally three types of maintenance service contracts are ***,attractive incentive and penalty mechanisms are adopted in the *** this basis,Nash non-cooperative game is applied to analyze the revenue for both the manufacturer and customers,and so as to optimize the pricing mechanism of maintenance service contract and achieve a win-win *** experiments are *** results show that by taking into account the incentive and penalty mechanisms,the revenue can be improved for both the customers and ***,with the increase of repair rate and improvement factor in the preventive maintenance,the revenue will increase gradually for both the parties.

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is an enduring condition that leads to inflammation and affects a substantial number of individuals with diabetes worldwide. A gradual reduction in glomerular filtration and emergence of proteins in the urine are typical aspects of DN, ultimately resulting in renal failure. Mounting evidence suggests that immunological and inflammatory factors are crucial for the development of DN. Therefore, the activation of innate immunity by resident renal and immune cells is critical for initiating and perpetuating inflammation. Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are an important group of receptors that identify patterns and activate immune responses and inflammation. Meanwhile, inflammatory responses in the liver, pancreatic islets, and kidneys involve inflammasomes and chemokines that generate pro-inflammatory cytokines. Moreover, the activation of the complement cascade can be triggered by glycated proteins. This review highlights recent findings elucidating how the innate immune system contributes to tissue fibrosis and organ dysfunction, ultimately leading to renal failure. This review also discusses innovative approaches that can be utilized to modulate the innate immune responses in DN for therapeutic purposes.

Pb induced dislocation defects of PtCo systems: Strain-triggered oxygen reduction reaction for PEMFC

Design and development of advanced electrocatalysts with high performance and low Pt consumption are crucial for reducing the kinetic energy barrier of the cathode oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and improving the efficiency of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC).In this study,we demonstrate a Pb-modulated PtCo system for efficient ORR,in which the inclusion of Pb in ternary alloys induces dislocation defects due to the significant difference in atomic ***-PtCoPb was confirmed to exhibit significantly higher ORR activity and stability in acidic *** practical PEMFC applications,it outperforms the corresponding commercial Pt/C with a mass activity of 0.58 A·mgPt^(-1),making it a promising alternative to state-of-the-art Pt-based *** combination of experimental results and density functional theory(DFT)calculations offers valuable atomic-level insights into the dislocation *** with a larger atomic radius is located in the lattice stretching region below the dislocation slip plane,forming a structure similar to a Cottrell atmosphere,which reduces the dislocation energy and puts the system in a lower energy *** Cottrell atmosphere pins the dislocation structure and stabilizes the ternary *** adjusting the amount of added Pb,a moderate level of dislocation density induces a tuned strain effect,thereby enhancing the electrocatalytic mechanism by optimizing the electronic structure of the alloy surface and the adsorption and desorption of oxygen *** work provides valuable insights into the design and development of lattice dislocation defect structures to trigger strain effects for improving ORR performance.

A comprehensive modeling strategy for studying the thermomechanical tribological behaviors is proposed in this *** wear degradation considering the influence of temperature(T)is predicted by Archard wear model with the help of the UMESHMOTION subroutine and arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian(ALE)remeshing *** the proposed method,the thermomechanical tribological behaviors of railway vehicle disc brake system composed of forged steel brake disc and Cu-based powder metallurgy(PM)friction block are studied *** effectiveness of the proposed methodology is validated by experimental test on a self-designed scaled brake test bench from the perspectives of interface temperature,wear degradation,friction noise and vibration,and contact status *** work can provide an effective way for the investigation of thermomechanical tribological behaviors in the engineering field.

How to analyze flocking behaviors of a multi-agent system with local interaction functions is a challenging problem in *** and Tadmor in 2011 also stressed the significance to assume that the interaction function is rapidly decaying or cut-off at a finite distance(*** and Tadmor in ***.2011).In this paper,we study the flocking behavior of a Cucker–Smale type model with compactly supported interaction *** properties of a connected stochastic matrix,together with an elaborate analysis on perturbations of a linearized system,we obtain a sufficient condition imposed only on model parameters and initial data to guarantee ***,it is shown that the system achieves flocking at an exponential rate.
