The Hengshan complex forms part of the central zone of the north China Craton and consists predominantly of ductilely-deformed late Archaean to Palaeoproterozoic high-grade, partly migmatitic, granitoid orthogneisses, intruded by mafic dykes of gabbroic composition. Many highly strained rocks were previously misinterpreted as supracrustal sequences and represent mylonitized granitoids and sheared dykes. Our single zircon dating documents magmatic granitoid emplacement ages between 2.52 Ga and 2.48 Ga, with rare occurrences of 2.7 Ga gneisses, possibly reflecting an older basement. A few granitic gneisses have emplacement ages between 2.35 and 2.1 Ga and show the same structural features as the older rocks, indicating that the main deformation occurred after -2.1 Ga. Intrusion of gabbroic dykes occurred at -1920 Ma, and all Hengshan rocks underwent granulite-facies metamorphism at 1.88-1.85 Ga, followed by retrogression, sheafing and uplift. We interpret the Hengshan and adjacent Fuping granitoid gneisses as the lower, plutonic, part of a late Archaean to early Palaeoproterozoic Japan-type magmatic arc, with the upper, volcanic part represented by the nearby Wutai complex. Components of this arc may have evolved at a continental margin as indicated by the 2.7 Ga zircons. Major deformation and HP metamorphism occurred in the late Palaeoproterozoic during the Luliang orogeny when the Eastern and Western blocks of the north China Craton collided to form the Trans-north China orogen. shear zones in the Hengshan are interpreted as major lower crustal discontinuities post-dating the peak of HP metamorphism, and we suggest that they formed during orogenic collapse and uplift of the Hengshan complex in the late Palaeoproterozoic （〈1.85 Ga）.

Continuous biodiesel production from a waste pig-roasting lard,methanol and KOH was carried out in a reciprocating plate reactor(rPr)using a factorial design containing three process factors,namely methanol/lard molar ratio,catalyst loading,and normalized height of the *** main goals were to optimize the influential process factors with respect to biodiesel purity using the response surface methodology and to model the kinetics of the transesterification reaction in order to describe the change of triacylglycerols(TAG)and fatty acid methyl esters(FAME)concentrations along the rPr *** first-order rate law was proved for both the reaction and the mass *** model of the changing reaction mechanism and mass transfer of TAG was also *** kinetic models agreed with the experimental concentrations of TAG and FAME determined along the rPr height.

A real-time Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) monitor has been developed on the base of the successful national Institute of Occupational Health and safety (nIOsH) designed Personal Dust Monitor (PDM) unit. The objectives of a recently completed Australian Coal Association research Program (ACArP) study was to modify the PDM to measure the submicrometre fraction of the aerosol in a real-time monitoring underground instrument. Mine testing focused on use of the monitor in engineering evaluations of Longwall (LW) moves demonstrated how DPM concentrations from vehicles fluctuate under varying ventilation and operational conditions. The strong influence of mine ventilation systems is reviewed. Correlation between the current sKC DPM measurement system and real-time DPM monitors were conducted and results from eight mines show a correlation between elemental carbon (EC) and the new monitor DPM mass ranging from 0.45 to 0.82 with r 2>0.86 in all but two cases. This differences in suspected to be due to variations from mine to mine in aspects such as mine atmospheric contamination, vehicle fleet variations, fuel type, engine maintenance, engine combustion efficiency, engine behavior or interference from other submicrometre aerosol. real-time monitoring clearly reflects the movement of individual diesel vehicles and allows pin-pointing of high exposure zones such as those encountered where various vehicles engage in intense work in areas of constrained or difficult ventilation. DPM shift average monitoring approaches do not readily allow successful engineering evaluation exercises to determine acceptability of pollution levels. Identification of high DPM concentration zones allows efficient modification of mine ventilation, operator positioning and other work practices to reduce miners’ exposures without waiting for laboratory analysis results.

InKenya, russian wheat aphid (rWA) and stem rust race TTKs (“Ug99”) are the most devastating pests of wheat. severe infestations by rWA result in yield losses of up to 90% while epidemics of “Ug99”can cause up to 100% loss. The two pests combined have seriously affected farmer incomes forcing them to rely heavily on pesticides and increasing the cost of production. This study sought to evaluate a wheat line that has been developed to be resistant to both rWA and “Ug99”by pyramiding two major resistance genes. Three varieties were used in this study: “Kwale”, a Kenyan high yielding commercial variety but susceptible to both rWA and “Ug99”;“Cook”, an Australian variety carrying stem rust resistance gene sr36 conferring immunity to “Ug99”;and “KrWA9”, a Kenyan line resistant to rWA but with poor agronomic attributes. The F1 of the double cross (DC F1) was obtained by crossing the F1 of “Kwale × Cook” and the F1 of “Kwale × KrWA9”. The DC F1 population was subjected to sequential screening for both rWA and “Ug99”resistance. The surviving DC F1 progenies were left to self pollinate in the field to obtain the DC F2. The DC F2 progenies were sequentially screened against rWA and “Ug99”to obtain a resistant population to both rWA and “Ug99”. The yield and yield components of the new resistant line were compared with the three parents. results showed that the DC F2:3 had higher yields than the three parents based on 1000 kernel weight, weight of kernel per spike, and the actual yield in tons/ha, indicating that the genes were successfully introgressed. It is concluded that though races with virulence for sr36 have been reported, the gene provides immunity to race “Ug99”and can be used as a component for “Ug99”resistance breeding together with other sr genes.

Background:It remains unclear if the vascular and connective tissue structures of primary and metastatic tumors are intrinsically determined or whether these characteristics are defined by the host *** we examined the microanatomical steps of vasculature and connective tissue development of C38 colon carcinoma in different ***:Tumors produced in mice at five different locations(the cecal wall,skin,liver,lung,and brain)were ana-lyzed using fluorescent immunohistochemistry,electron microscopy and quantitative real-time polymerase chain ***:We found that in the cecal wall,skin,liver,and lung,resident fibroblasts differentiate into collagenous matrix-producing myofibroblasts at the tumor *** activated fibroblasts together with the produced matrix were incorporated by the *** connective tissue development culminated in the appearance of intratumoral tissue columns(centrally located single microvessels embedded in connective tissue and smooth muscle actin-expressing myofibroblasts surrounded by basement membrane).Conversely,in the brain(which lacks fibroblasts),C38 metasta-ses only induced the development of vascularized desmoplastic tissue columns when the growing tumor reached the fibroblast-containing ***:Our data suggest that the desmoplastic host tissue response is induced by tumor-derived fibrogenic molecules acting on host tissue *** concluded that not only the host tissue characteristics but also the tumor-derived fibrogenic signals determine the vascular and connective tissue structure of tumors.

This paper describes a new approach for the determination of amitriptyline in wastewater by ionic liquid based immersed droplet microextraction （IL-IDME） prior to highperformance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. 1-Hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate （[C6MIM][PF6]） was used as an ionic liquid. Various factors that affect extraction, such as volume of ionic liquid, stirring rate, extraction time, pH of the aqueous solution and salting effect, were optimized. The optimal conditions were as follows： microextraction time, 10 min; stirring rate, 720 rpm; pH, 11; ionic drop volume, 100 uL; and no sodium chloride addition. In quantitative experiments the method showed linearity in a range from 0.01 to 10 ug/mL, a limit of detection of 0.004 ug/mL and an excellent pre-concentration factor （PF） of 1100. Finally, the method was successfully applied to the determination of amitriptyline in the hospital wastewater samples.

Highly transparent and preferential c-axis oriented nanocrystalline undoped and A1 doped zinc oxide （AZO） thin films have been deposited onto amorphous glass substrate by spray pyrolysis. The XrD studies reveal that AZO with a hexagonal （wurtzite） crystal structure having （002） preferred orientation is formed. The atomic force microscope （AFM） shows uniform surface topography. The optical band gap values of undoped and AZO thin films were changed from 3.34 to 3.35 eV. The band gap energy and photoluminescence are found to depend on the Al doping. Thermoelectric power measurement shows film having n-type in nature. Dielectric constant and loss （tan δ） were found to be frequency dependent. Interparticle interactions in the deposited films are studied by complex impendence spectroscopy.

A new near-infrared direct acceleration mechanism driven by Laguerre-Gaussian laser is proposed to stably accelerate and concentrate electron slice both in longitudinal and transversal directions in ***-dimensional simulations show that a 2-μm circularly polarized LG_(p)^(l)(p=0,l=1,σ_(2)=-1)laser can directly manipulate attosecond electron slices in additional dimensions(angular directions)and give them annular structures and angular *** annular vortex attosecond electron slices are expected to have some novel applications such as in the collimation of antiprotons in conventional linear accelerators,edge-enhancement electron imaging,structured X-ray generation,and analysis and manipulation of nanomaterials.

A coupled intravascular-transvascular-interstitial fluid flow model is developed to study the distributions of blood flow and interstitial fluid pressure in solid tumor microcirculation based on a tumor-induced microvascular network. This is generated from a 2D nine-point discrete mathematical model of tumor angiogenesis and contains two parent vessels. Blood flow through the microvascular network and interstitial fluid flow in tumor tissues are performed by the extended Poiseuille＇s law and Darcy＇s law, respectively, transvascular flow is described by starling＇s law; effects of the vascular permeability and the interstitial hydraulic conductivity are also considered. The simulation results predict the heterogeneous blood supply, interstitial hypertension and low convection on the inside of the tumor, which are consistent with physiological observed facts. These results may provide beneficial information for anti-angiogenesis treatment of tumor and further clinical research.
