Objective: European lung cancer screening studies using computed tomograph.(CT) h.ve sh.wn th.t a management protocol based on measuring lung nodule volume and volume doubling time(VDT) is more specific for early lung cancer detection th.n a diameter-based protocol. h.wever, wh.th.r th.s also applies to a Ch.nese population is unclear. Th. aim of th.s study is to compare th. diagnostic performance of a volume-based protocol with.a diameter-based protocol for lung cancer detection and optimize th. nodule management criteria for a Ch.nese ***: Th.s study h.s a population-based, prospective coh.rt design and includes 4000 participants from th. h.xi district of Tianjin, Ch.na. Participants will undergo low-dose ch.st CT at baseline and after 1 year. Initially, detected lung nodules will be evaluated for diameter and managed according to a routine diameter-based protocol(Clinical Practice Guideline in Oncology for Lung Cancer Screening, Version 2.2018). Subsequently, lung nodules will be evaluated for volume and management will be simulated according to a volume-based protocol and VDT(a European lung nodule management protocol). Participants will be followed up for 4 years to evaluate lung cancer incidence and mortality. Th. primary outcome is th. diagnostic performance of th. European volume-based protocol compared to diameter-based management regarding lung nodules detected using low-dose ***: Th. diagnostic performance of volume-and diameter-based management for lung nodules in a Ch.nese population will be estimated and ***: Th.ough.th. study, we expect to improve th. management of lung nodules and early detection of lung cancer in Ch.nese populations.

Background: Cytotoxic lesions of th. corpus callosum (CLOCCs) represent a collection of disparate conditions th.t can cause a signal ch.nge in th. corpus callosum, usually involving th. splenium. CLOCCs is present in a variety of disorders, such.as cerebral infarction, bleeding, multiple sclerosis, acute disseminated enceph.lomyelitis, glioblastoma, lymph.ma, metabolic diseases, and infections. Since 2020, World h.alth.Organization (W.h.O) defined Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, as a pandemic. Numerous CLOCCs cases h.ve been reported in adults in particular in Japan, in Ch.na, and recently in ch.ldren in Turkey associated with.SARS-CoV-2. We report th. first case of CLOCCs diagnosed in West Africa (Côte d’Ivoire) in an adult associated with.SARS-CoV-2. Case Report: A 60 year-old-woman with.a medical h.story of h.gh.blood pressure and diabetes, presented to th. emergency department with.confusion with.ut fever. Neurological examination was normal apart from temporospatial disorientation. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sh.wed abnormal signals in th. splenium of th. corpus callosum (SCC). Forty-eigh. h.urs (48 h. after admission, th. patient experienced a fever (temperature: 385˚C), several episodes of h.poglycemia (capillary blood glycemia levels below 0.5 g/l) and a dry cough. Lung CT imaging sh.wed typical features with.ground-glass opacities. Oroph.ryngeal swab was positive for SARS-CoV-2 on reverse-transcriptase–polymerase-ch.in-reaction (RT-PCR) assay. Th. clinical course was favorable. One month.after disease onset, a follow-up Brain MRI sh.wed considerable regression of SCC abnormal signal. Th. multiple episodes of h.poglycemia and SARS-COV 2 infection were incriminated as th. causal factors. Conclusion: Th. improvement of th. tech.ical platform in our context of work gives us th. possibility to identify th. etiological factors of th.s rare clinico-radiological entity.

Accuracy of Ultrasound to Determine Gestational Age in Th.rd Trimester

rapid and accurate determination of gestational age (GA) may be vital to th. appropriate care of th. critically ill pregnant patient and improve obstetric care th.ough.allowing th. optimal timing of necessary interventions and th. avoidance of unnecessary ones. Ultrasound scans are considered to be th. most cost-effective, accurate and safe meth.ds for measurement of various fetal parts in pregnant women. Th. aim of th.s research.is to explore th. accuracy of ultrasound in determining gestational age of fetus in th.rd trimesters. Data collected for all pregnant women referred to th. Maternity & Ch.ldren’s h.spital in Jeddah. Only women with.single live fetus were included in th.s study. Women wh. participated in th. study were selected on following criteria: Regular menstrual cycles, known date of last menstrual period and previous live normal neonates in multipara. All scans were performed by a single ultrasonologist on one ultrasound mach.ne. From collected data, it was found th.t out of 53 (100%) patients, 44 (84.62%) pregnant woman h.ve different gestational age from US and last menstrual period (LMP). From th.s study we can conclude th.t th. main meth.d to follow fetus growth.in th.rd trimester not biparietal diameter (BPD) measurement only. Th. BPD in th.rd trimester is not reliable and be useless wh.n th. patient pass 30 weeks and th. BPD h.s to be side with.oth.r measurements wh.n we take it in later trimesters to emph.size th. normal growth.of fetus and avoid wrong measurement of ultrasound.

Background Reliable early prediction response to th.rapy and time-to-progression （TTP） remain an important goal of h.gh.grade gliomas （h.Gs） research. Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy （1h.MRS） h.s been applied with.variable success in clinical application, and we h.poth.size th.t 1h.MRS in predictive value sh.uld perform well as a marker of TTP in patients treated with.radioth.rapy （RT） after surgery. Meth.ds 1h.MRS was performed before surgery on 25 patients wh. h.d undergone resection of h.Gs; th.n th. ratios of lipid/creatine （Lip/Cr） and myo-inositol/creatine （ml/Cr） were determined in th. solid tumor. RT response was classified as follows： complete resolution （CR）, partial response （PR）, stable disease （SD）, and progressive disease （PD） by comparison of pre-treatment and post-radioth.rapy scans. TTP was defined at th. time to radiograph.c progression by MacDonald criteria. Correlation was evaluated between th. ratios of Lip/Cr, ml/Cr and treatment response, TTP. Th. ch.-square test and Pearson correlation test were used for data analyses. Results Multivariate analysis revealed th.t th. prognostic value of spectroscopic variables was independent of age, sex, Wh. h.stologic grade, extent of surgery, and Karnofsky score （KPS）. Th. correlation between th. ratios of lipid/Cr and TTP was significant （r=0.894, P=0.000）, and between th. ratios of ml/Cr and TTP was also significant （r=0.891, P=-0.000）. As predicted, RT response correlated significantly with.TTP （r=0.59, P=0.002）： median TTP was 49.9 days for patients with.PD compared with.202.7 days for SD, 208.0 days for PR, and 234.5 days for CR. Conclusion Th. ratios of Lip/Cr and ml/Cr of th. solid tumor region before surgery could provide important information in predicting RT response and TTP in patients with.h.Gs treated by radiation alone after surgery.
