Reversible Data Hiding Algorithm in Encrypted Images Based on Adaptive Median Edge Detection and Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption

With the rapid advancement of cloud computing technology,reversible data hiding algorithms in encrypted images(RDH-EI)have developed into an important field of study concentrated on safeguarding privacy in distributed cloud ***,existing algorithms often suffer from low embedding capacities and are inadequate for complex data access *** address these challenges,this paper proposes a novel reversible data hiding algorithm in encrypted images based on adaptive median edge detection(AMED)and ciphertext-policy attributebased encryption(CP-ABE).This proposed algorithm enhances the conventional median edge detection(MED)by incorporating dynamic variables to improve pixel prediction *** carrier image is subsequently reconstructed using the Huffman coding *** image generation is then achieved by encrypting the image based on system user attributes and data access rights,with the hierarchical embedding of the group’s secret data seamlessly integrated during the encryption process using the CP-ABE ***,the encrypted image is transmitted to the data hider,enabling independent embedding of the secret data and resulting in the creation of the marked encrypted *** approach allows only the receiver to extract the authorized group’s secret data,thereby enabling fine-grained,controlled *** results indicate that,in contrast to current algorithms,the method introduced here considerably improves the embedding rate while preserving lossless image ***,the average maximum embedding rates for the(3,4)-threshold and(6,6)-threshold schemes reach 5.7853 bits per pixel(bpp)and 7.7781 bpp,respectively,across the BOSSbase,BOW-2,and USD ***,the algorithm facilitates permission-granting and joint-decryption ***,this paper conducts a comprehensive examination of the algorithm’s robustness using metrics such as image correlation,information entropy,and number of pix

A Dual Domain Robust Reversible Watermarking Algorithm for Frame Grouping Videos Using Scene Smoothness

The proposed robust reversible watermarking algorithm addresses the compatibility challenges between robustness and reversibility in existing video watermarking techniques by leveraging scene smoothness for frame grouping *** in the H.264 video coding standard,the algorithm first employs traditional robust watermark stitching technology to embed watermark information in the low-frequency coefficient domain of the U ***,it utilizes histogram migration techniques in the high-frequency coefficient domain of the U channel to embed auxiliary information,enabling successful watermark extraction and lossless recovery of the original video *** results demonstrate the algorithm’s strong imperceptibility,with each embedded frame in the experimental videos achieving a mean peak signal-to-noise ratio of 49.3830 dB and a mean structural similarity of *** with the three comparison algorithms,the performance of the two experimental indexes is improved by 7.59%and 0.4%on *** the same time,the proposed algorithm has strong robustness to both offline and online attacks:In the face of offline attacks,the average normalized correlation coefficient between the extracted watermark and the original watermark is 0.9989,and the average bit error rate is *** the face of online attacks,the normalized correlation coefficient between the extracted watermark and the original watermark is 0.8840,and the mean bit error rate is *** with the three comparison algorithms,the performance of the two experimental indexes is improved by 1.27%and 18.16%on average,highlighting the algorithm’s ***,the algorithm exhibits low computational complexity,with the mean encoding and the mean decoding time differentials during experimental video processing being 3.934 and 2.273 s,respectively,underscoring its practical utility.

Is peri-transplant blood transfusion associated with worse transplant outcomes?A retrospective study

BACKGROUND Blood transfusion is common during the peri-transplantation *** incidence of immunological reactions to blood transfusion after kidney transplantation and their consequences on graft outcomes have not been extensively *** To examine the risk of graft rejection and loss in patients who received blood transfusion in the immediate peri-transplantation *** We conducted a single-center retrospective cohort study of 105 kidney recipients,among them 54 patients received leukodepleted blood transfusion at our center between January 2017 and March *** This study included 105 kidney recipients,of which 80%kidneys were from living-related donors,14%from living-unrelated donors,and 6%from deceased ***-related donors were mostly first-degree relatives(74.5%),while the rest were second-degree *** patients were divided into transfusion(n=54)and non-transfusion(n=51)*** average hemoglobin level at which blood transfusion was commenced was 7.4±0.9 mg/*** were no differences between the groups in terms of rejection rates,graft loss,or *** the study period,there was no significant difference in creatinine level progression between the two *** graft function was higher in the transfusion group;however,this finding was not statistically significant.A high number of transfused packed red blood cells was significantly associated with increased creatinine levels at the end of the *** Leukodepleted blood transfusion was not associated with a higher risk of rejection,graft loss,or death in kidney transplant recipients.

A New Route for Preparation of β-TCP/ PLLA Composite

A new facile route for preparation of β-TCP/PLLA composites is reported in this letter. SEM images display that β-TCP particles with average diameter of 400 nm were well bonded and distributed within the pore walls of the PLLA scaffolds. The mixture of the novel complex and human dental pulp cells was transplanted subcutaneously into the dorsal surface of a nude mouse. Two months later histological examination showed that new collagen and new dentin formed. The results revealed that the new nano β-TCP/PLLA composite combined with human pulp cells could induce dentin formation offering a new way to dental tissue engineering.

An Efficient and Practical Public Key Cryptosystem with CCA-Security on Standard Model

Chosen Ciphertext Attack （CCA） security on the standard model is widely accepted as the standard security notion for the public key cryptosystem. The existing CCA-secure public key cryptosystems on the standard model are expensive in terms of efficiency and practicality. In this paper, an efficient and practical public key cryptosystem is presented over the group of signed quadratic residues. It is provably secure against CCA on the standard model. Furthermore, public verifiability for this scheme is also realized in the way that projects the verification privacy key into public key on trapdoor pretending. It will be useful to devise efficient CCA-secure threshold and proxy re-encryption schemes on the standard model.

A grain-size correction for metal pollution indexes in river sediments

According to the List of Hazardous Substances of the Agency of the Toxic Substances and Disease Registry(ATSDR 2017), some metallic elements such as Pb or Cd are still considered as the most polluting elements in the world. These elements accumulate in sediments, and there are various methods available that differentiate lithogenic sources from anthropogenic sources. For that, the natural geochemical background is required, however, its definition is far from unanimous: it can be a global or local value,single or statistically estimated value, depending on the studies. Our study is focused on the Subae River in the state of Bahia, Northeastern Brazil, which was historically contaminated by lead metallurgy. The river sediments were sampled at 21 locations: one at the discharge point of the plant’s rainwater basin,ten upstream, and ten downstream. The total contents of Fe, Ti, Mn, Pb, Zn, Cu, Cr, particle-size distribution, and organic matter were analyzed. The conventional geochemical indexes, i.e., the pollution degree(m Cd), pollution load index, and enrichment factor indicated contamination by Zn, Pb, Cr, and ***, a new enrichment factor is introduced, assuming that the sediments come from erosion of soils in the watershed. After obtaining the natural concentrations of metals in the clay, silt, and sand fractions of uncontaminated reference soils, we corrected the pollution indexes by calculating a new individual background in each sediment sample, according to its grain size distribution. This new approach provided more precise indexes in the assessment of sediment pollution, by highlighting higher contamination of Zn and Pb(around 50%) and at the same time the absence of Cr and Cu contamination, two metals not involved with the metallurgical activity.

Neuroprotective effects of bloodletting at Jing points combined with mild induced hypothermia in acute severe traumatic brain injury

Bloodletting at Jing points has been used to treat coma in traditional Chinese medicine. Mild induced hypothermia has also been shown to have neuroprotective effects. However, the therapeutic effects of bloodletting at Jing points and mild induced hypothermia alone are limited. Therefore, we investigated whether combined treatment might have clinical effectiveness for the treatment of acute severe traumatic brain injury. Using a rat model of traumatic brain injury, combined treatment substantially alleviated cerebral edema and bloodbrain barrier dysfunction. Furthermore, neurological function was ameliorated, and cellular necrosis and the inflammatory response were lessened. These findings suggest that the combined effects of bloodletting at Jing points（20 μL, twice a day, for 2 days） and mild induced hypothermia（6 hours） are better than their individual effects alone. Their combined application may have marked neuroprotective effects in the clinical treatment of acute severe traumatic brain injury.

TODIM and TOPSIS with Z-numbers

In this paper, we present an approach that can handle Z-numbers in the context of multi-criteria decision-making problems. The concept of Z-number as an ordered pair Z=(A, B) of fuzzy numbers A and B is used, where A is a linguistic value of a variable of interest and B is a linguistic value of the probability measure of A. As human beings, we communicate with each other by means of natural language using sentences like "the journey from home to university most likely takes about half an hour." The Z-numbers are converted to fuzzy numbers. Then the Z-TODIM and Z-TOPSIS are presented as a direct extension of the fuzzy TODIM and fuzzy TOPSIS, respectively. The proposed methods are applied to two case studies and compared with the standard approach using crisp values. The results obtained show the feasibility of the approach.
