Combinations of metal and lanthanide oxides have been done through casted films for potential medical applications. In this regard, samarium(Ⅲ) oxide/chromium(Ⅲ) oxide/graphene oxide(GO)/polycaprolactone(PCL) based films nano-composites(NCs) were fabricated, pointing their utilization as a biological scaffold for wound dressing purposes. Also, samarium(Ⅲ) oxide and chromium(Ⅲ) oxide have been merged as promising optical constituents due to their unique optical behavior. The structural and compositional examination of the studied NCs was executed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman, and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM). The Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL NC exhibits a surface with a lower roughness degree owing to the presence of GO. Cr_(2)O_(3)shows size reduction upon GO insertion to reach 1.2 μm as the average grain size, whilst Sm_(2)O_(3)records an average grain size of less than 1 μm. As well, the polymeric nano-compositions exhibit variation in contact angle values that hit 29.76°± 3.52°for Sm_(2)O_(3)/PCL, and 48.62°± 1.37°for Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL as the second lowest contact angle. The optical behavior contributes to absorption edge relocation along the x-axis from 1.7 eV for pure PCL, to 2.65 eV for Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL. Regarding biological responses, the cell exposed to 2.5 μg/m L of Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL shows cell viability of 119.31%, while 5 μg/m L hits 99.6%. Additionally, the resulting cell attachment micrographs show layers of fibroblast tissue, besides the proliferation and growth of cultivated cells. Thus, the Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL scaffold provides 3D proliferation of fibroblast cells endorsing the wound healing process.

Developing a biomaterial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were embedded in cast films based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be examined for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated films including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Raman,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),besides their biological *** thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)exhibits high thermal stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the temperature from room temperature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approximately 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachment shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on most of the surface of the modified PCL which shows high biocompatibility.

Cooling system design for thermal management of electronic equipment,batteries and photovoltaic(PV)modules is important for increasing the efﬁciency,safety operation,and long life span the *** the present study,two different cooling systems are proposed with nano-enhanced multiple impinging jets for a conductive *** present cooling systems can be used in electronic cooling and PV *** porous object(PPO)and sinusoidal porous object(SPO)are used in the jet cooling system.2D numerical analysis usingﬁnite volume method is conducted considering different values of permeability of the objects(Darcy number(Da)between 10^(-6) and 10^(-1)).When PPO is used in the cooling system,num-ber of cylinders(between 1 and 6),and size of the cylinders(between 0.015 and 0.075)are *** the case of using SPO,amplitude(between 0.1 and 2)and wave number(be-tween 1 and 12)are ***-water nanoﬂuid with cylindrical shaped nanoparticles is used as the heat transferﬂ*** permeability is changed for PPO,the average temper-ature increases by roughly 3.89℃ for a single cylinder and drops by roughly 0.57℃ for a six-cylinder *** the size of the cylinder in the PPO case at highest permeability results in temperature drop of 5.3℃.When changing the number of cylinders,cooling rate varies by about 3.6%.Wave number of SPO is more inﬂuential on the cooling performance enhancement as compared to amplitude and permeability of the *** average surface temperature drops by 12.4℃ when the wave number is increased to *** compared to reference case of jet impingement cooling without porous object,using PPO and SPO along with the nanoﬂuid result in temperature drop of 12.3℃ and 14.4℃.

Velocity equation for grenades while impacting on dry sand media

This paper deals with the collision of sphere shape grenades with sand *** central issue of the article is the establishing of an empirical velocity equation of the grenade while impacting on sand that is used to solve motion equations of the mechanical mechanism inside the impact grenade *** paper focuses on impact velocities that are lower than 5 m s^(-1).An experiment was conducted to study the velocity of the grenade while impacting on dry sand.A high-speed camera video was used to capture the grenade *** grenade velocity in the impact process was generated from these video *** types of fitting curves are used to regress the velocity equation of the grenade while interacting with the sand media and the best-fitting model is *** result shows the regression curve has a high correlation with the experiment data for grenade velocities below 5 m s^(-1).The received regression equation is useful for analyzing the working ability of the inertial mechanism inside the impact grenade or analyzing and choosing the appropriate parameters of each part in the inertial mechanism to meet the required characteristics of the mechanism.

AIM:To determine the dry eye(DE)rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary ***:A cross-sectional study included 432 patients with primary hypertension(with an equal number of patients in each group:144 in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ hypertension)and 144 healthy subjects as a control *** Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)and Schirmer Ⅰ test without anesthetics were conducted on all 576 *** with OSDI scoreshan in the control group(41.7%versus 18.8%;Phan those without DE,P<*** age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma creatinine,and CRP-hs levels were independent factors associated with DE in primary hypertension patients,P<***:DE is a common disorder associated with advanced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma CRP-hs,and creatinine levels in patients with primary hypertension.

Effects of interlayer spacing and applied pressure on the lanthanide transport in MoS2-based two-dimensional channels

Rare-earth elements(REEs)are critical to modern industry but difficult to separate due to their subtle and monotonic changes in physico-chemical ***2-based two-dimensional(2D)materials offer novel opportunities for enhancing REE separation,exhibiting a distinct volcano-shaped transport performance distribution that peaks at Sm3+.However,the specific contributions of thermodynamic and kinetic factors to ion transport within 2D confinement remain *** this study,we conducted a series of non-equilibrium all-atom molecular dynamics(MD)simulations to explore the effects of interlayer spacing and external pressure on the transport of lanthanide ions inÅ-scale acetate functionalized 2D MoS2(MoS2-COOH)*** examined ion entry and permeation rates,water flux,dehydration,and binding *** simulation results reveal that the transport trends of lanthanide ions are jointly driven by the dehydration degree and the relative-binding strengths of ions to water and to the acetate within the 2D ***,the dehydration pattern of lanthanide ions during permeation is closely linked to kinetic ***,this study provides a detailed atomistic understanding of the mechanisms under-lying lanthanide ion transport under *** findings point to the significant potential for tuning confinement and chemical functionalization withinÅ-scale channels for more efficient REE separation.

Health economics for intra-capsular hip fractures undertaking fixation

BACKGROUND Hip fracture is a common musculoskeletal injury in the elderly requiring surgery *** operative mainstay of intra-capsular hip fractures is arthroplasty with a smaller proportion for *** To determine the most beneficial method of fixation for patients with intracapsular hip *** A registered audit from 2012-2018 was conducted on all intra-capsular hip fractures treated with 2 commonly used fixation *** notes,electronic records and clinical codes for cost benefit were evaluated.A validated quality of life measure was collected at least 1 year after *** A total of 83 patients were identified with intra-capsular fractures undergoing fixation during the retrospective *** were 47 cannulated cancellous screw and 36 sliding hip screw fixations with the case mix comparable for age,gender,co-morbidities and fracture *** was no significant difference in blood loss,tip apex distance,radiation exposure,length of stay,radiological union time,collapse,avascular necrosis or re-operation between fixation *** regression analysis demonstrated displaced intracapsular hip fractures correlated significantly with an undesirable outcome conferring a relative odds ratio of *** were 9(19%)and 4(11%)patients respectively,who required *** was no significant difference in health resource group tariff and implant cost with comparable EQ-5D and visual CONCLUSION No significant advantage was identified with differing fixation type,but irrespective there were a high number of patients requiring *** was predicted by initial fracture displacement and patient *** may need to be carefully considered for health economics and patient benefit.

Long CoVID,also known for post-acute sequelae of CovID-19,describes the people who have the signs and symptoms that continue or develop after the acute coviD-19 *** CovID patients suffer from an inflammation or host responses towards the virus approx-imately 4 weeks after initial infection with the SARS CoV-2 virus and continue for an unchar-acterized *** infected with CovID-19 before could experience long-CcovID conditions,including the patients who were infected with SARS CoV-2 virus confirmed by tests and those who never knew they had an infection *** with long CoviD may experience health problems from different types and combinations of symptoms over time,such as fa-tigue,dyspnea,cognitive impairments,and gastrointestinal(Gl)symptoms(e.g.,nausea,vom-iting,diarrhea,decreased or loss of appetite,abdominal pain,and dysgeusia).The critical role of the microbiome in these Gl symptoms and long CovID were reported in clinical patients and experimental ***,we provide an overall view of the critical role of the Gl tract and microbiome in the development of long COVID,including the clinical Gl symptoms in patients,dysbiosis,viral-microbiome interactions,barrier function,and inflammatory bowel disease patients with long *** highlight the potential mechanisms and possible treatment based on Gl health and ***,we discuss challenges and future direction in the long CoVID clinic and research.
