Prevalence and fuoroquinolone resistance of Campylobacter *** from beef cattle in Japan

Beef is a source of human Campylobacter *** treatment is needed when patients are immuno‑compromised or have other ***,we investigated the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance of Campylobacter *** beef cattle in *** swab samples were collected from 164 beef cattle at an abattoir between March 2021 and August 2021,and Campylobacter *** isolated from 94(57.3%)*** and *** were isolated from 68 and 26 cattle,*** Campylobacter jejuni,the resistant rates against ampicillin,tetracycline and ciprofoxacin were 20.6,75.0 and 64.7%,*** ***,the resistant rates against ampicil‑lin,tetracycline and ciprofoxacin were 53.8,76.9 and 88.5%,*** Campylobacter isolates were resistant to *** multilocus sequence typing,*** and *** isolates were classifed into 22 and 2 sequence types(STs).The top three STs of *** were ST806(12 isolates),ST21(nine isolates),and ST459(eight isolates).The most frequent ST of *** was ST1068(23 isolates).The results suggest that Campylobacter *** prevalent in the gastrointestinal tract of beef cattle slaughtered at ***,the administration of erythromycin is efec‑tive against human campylobacteriosis caused by beef *** the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance of Campylobacter *** beef cattle could be useful for managing the risk of human campylobacteriosis.

A study was taken up on integration of ducks in private and community fish ponds in Tami Nadu. A total of 50 ha of land under private holding and community water bodies each were selected to implement this model. Ducks were integrated based on the water spread area. Fodder, fruit, nuts, fuel, timber trees and vegetables were grown on pond bunds. Control units of fish ponds of farmers holding without integration of ducks also were taken up. A control unit also was established in the university farm land with and without integration of ducks. In private water bodies coconut trees and banana fetched additional revenue. During the first year the average fish production from the private land model was 1,552 kg and 1,731 kg for the first and second year respectively per Hectare. In community ponds the yields were 1,610 and 1,337 kg for the first and second year respectively. In field control units there was no increase in fish yield over the years. In private water bodies the beneficiaries got egg yield of 148 and 90 eggs and community water bodies 144 and 127 eggs per bird were obtained during first and second year resoectivelv.

Integration of human papillomavirus(HPV)DNA into the human genome is a reputed key driver of cervical ***,the effects of HPV integration on chromatin structural organization and gene expression are largely *** studied a cohort of 61 samples and identified an integration hot spot in the CCDC106 gene on chromosome *** then selected fresh cancer tissue that contained the unique integration loci at CCDC106 with no HPV episomal DNA and performed whole-genome,RNA,chromatin immunoprecipitation and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture(Hi-C)sequencing to identify the mechanisms of HPV integration in cervical *** analyses indicated that chromosome 19 exhibited significant genomic variation and differential expression densities,with correlation found between three-dimensional(3D)structural change and gene ***,HPV integration divided one topologically associated domain(TAD)into two smaller TADs and hijacked an enhancer from PEG3 to CCDC106,with a decrease in PEG3 expression and an increase in CCDC106 *** expression dysregulation was further confirmed using 10 samples from our cohort,which exhibited the same HPV-CCDC106 *** summary,we found that HPV-CCDC106 integration altered local chromosome architecture and hijacked an enhancer via 3D genome structure ***,this study provides insight into the 3D structural mechanism underlying HPV integration in cervical carcinogenesis.

Ruminant livestock provide a rich source of products, such as meat, milk, and wool, and play a critical role in global food security and nutrition. Over the past few decades, genomic studies of ruminant livestock have provided valuable insights into their domestication and the genetic basis of economically important traits, facilitating the breeding of elite varieties. In this review, we summarize the main advancements for domestic ruminants in reference genome assemblies, population genomics, and the identification of functional genes or variants for phenotypic traits. These traits include meat and carcass quality, reproduction, milk production, feed efficiency, wool and cashmere yield,horn development, tail type, coat color, environmental adaptation, and disease resistance. Functional genomic research is entering a new era with the advancements of graphical pangenomics and telomere-to-telomere(T2T) gap-free genome assembly. These advancements promise to improve our understanding of domestication and the molecular mechanisms underlying economically important traits in ruminant livestock. Finally, we provide new perspectives and future directions for genomic research on ruminant genomes. We suggest how ever-increasing multiomics datasets will facilitate future studies and molecular breeding in livestock, including the potential to uncover novel genetic mechanisms underlying phenotypic traits, to enable more accurate genomic prediction models, and to accelerate genetic improvement programs.

Brucella suis is responsible for swine brucellosis worldwide. Of the five different B. suis biovars （by.）, bv. 2 appears restricted to Europe where it is frequently isolated from wild boar and hares, can infect pigs and can cause human brucellosis. In this study, the differ- ential gene expression profile was characterized in spleens of Eurasian wild boar naturally infected with B. suis bv. 2. Of the 20,201 genes analyzed in the microarray, 633 and 1,373 were significantly （fold change 〉 1.8; P 〈 0.01） upregulated and downregulated, respectively, in infected wild boar. The analysis was focused on genes that were over represented after conditional test for biological process gene ontology. Upregulated genes suggested that B. suis bv. 2 infection induced cell maturation, migration and/or proliferation in infected animals. The genes downregulated in infected wild boar impaired the activity of several important cellular metabolic pathways such as metabolism, cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis, immune response and lysosomal function and vesicle-mediated transport. In addition, the response to stress, sperm fertility, muscle development and apoptosis seemed to be also impaired in infected animals. These results suggested that B. suis bv. 2 may use strategies similar to other smooth brucellae to facilitate intracellular multiplication and the development of chronic infections. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the analysis of gene expression profile in hosts infected with B. suis bv. 2, which is important to understand the molecular mechanisms at the host-pathogen interface in the main reservoir species with possible implications in the zoonotic cycle of the pathogen.

Grapes(Vitis Vinifera)are one of the world's most utilised and prized *** are a great source of antioxidants due to the abundance of phenolic *** pulp is the main part of the grape being *** pulp of five Australian grown grapes–Dawn Seedless(DS),Calmeria(CG),Golden Globe(GG),Menindee Seedless(MS),and Thompson Seedless(TS)will be qualitatively and quantitatively analysed for its phenolic composition and antioxidant *** general trend followed:GG>TS>MS>DS>CG,and the phenolic content of the pulp also presented a significant positive correlation with the antioxidant *** revealing the highest levels of TPC(4.31±0.11 mg GAE/g)and TFC(0.48±0.09 mg QE/g)while TS were highest in TTC(0.94±0.12 mg CE/g).Similarly,GG exhibited higher antioxidant capacity in DPPH(5.84±0.17 mg AAE/g),FRAP(4.91±0.14 mg AAE/g),and TAC(6.78±0.12 mg AAE/g),while TS revealed highest radical scavenging ability for ABTS(4.56±0.19 mg AAE/g).The LC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS tentatively identified 78 phenolic compounds consisting of flavonoids(36),phenolic acids(31),lignans(3),stilbenes(1),and other polyphenols(7)in five grapes *** most abundant fruit-based targeted polyphenols were *** had a higher phenolic concentration in HPLC-PDA quantification,particularly for phenolic acids(gallic acid and chlorogenic acid)and flavonoids(kaempferol).Our study provides relatively adequate information on grape pulp's phenolic content and antioxidant capacity,providing confidence and research prospects to promote grape pulp use in different food,pharmaceutical and supplement industries,and even influencing grape cultivation.
