OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the potential feature and mechanism of the caffeic acid 3,4-dihydroxyphenethyl ester(CADPE)molecule,which can prevent colorectal cancer(CRC)in the 1,2-Dimethylhydrazine(DMH)/dextran sodium sulphate(DSS)-induced mouse ***:Institute of cancer research(ICR)male mice were injected with 20 mg/kg DMH for a *** that,2%DSS was administered in the drinking water for another 7 *** CADPE treatment was given to the DMH/DSS induced male mice at three different periods until their *** examination was used for observing the CRC development at colonic ***(IHC),blood cells smearing and crypt damage scoring methods were used for investigating the anti-inflammation feature of CADPE related to *** reversing targets searching method was applied with artificial intelligence(AI),computeraided drug designing(CADD)and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis(IPA)techniques for predicting the potential targets and mechanism of CADPE highly related to ***:The data indicated that CADPE inhibited CRC tumor development in the colitis-associated DMH/DSS induced mouse model after giving the early *** also impeded the acute inflammation by decreasing the infiltration of neutrophils significantly during the initial stage of CRC ***,our data showed that CADPE prevented CRC by blocking active sites of three pivotal protein targets including epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)and mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)in two major cancer development ***:CADPE effectively prevented CRC at early stage of tumor germination in the DMH/DSS mouse model highly likely due to its anti-acute inflammation characteristic and the ability of blocking EGFR,ERK and m TOR activities in two highly related CRC developing pathways.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Oil(GLSO) on the tumor growth and survival of H22 tumor-bearing mice treated with cyclophosphamide(CTX), and explore the underlying ***: Allograft H22 hepatocellular carcinoma mouse model was applied to investigate the effect of GLSO on the tumor growth and survival of animals, and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to analyze the life span. Plasma biochemical examination was used to determine the levels of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST), urea(UREA) and creatinine(CRE). Western blot analysis was performed to detect Programmed Death-1(PD-1), Programmed Death Ligand 1(PD-L1), Janus Kinase 2(JAK2),phosphorylated Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3(p-STAT3), and Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3(STAT3) expression. RESULTS: GLSO increased the anti-tumor effect of CTX and prolonged the survival of H22 tumor-bearing mice treated with CTX. Meanwhile, GLSO increased the thymus index and showed no obvious toxicity to liver functions of animals. GLSO also decreased the level of UREA in H22 tumor-bearing mice treated with CTX. Furthermore, GLSO could inhibit the expression of PD-1 in spleen, which was independent of JAK2 expression and STAT3 phosphorylation. However, GLSO did not affect the expression of PD-L1, JAK2, and p-STAT3 in tumor tissue. CONCLUSION: GLSO could strengthen the anti-tumor effect of CTX and prolong the life span of H22 tumorbearing mice, while the underlying mechanism might be relevant to the amelioration effect of thymus function and inhibition of PD-1 expression in spleen. Furthermore, these findings implied the promising role of GLSO in combination with CTX to extend the survival of patients in clinical chemotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma.

An efficient approach for the treatment of radioactive waste perfluoropolyether lubricants via a synergistic effect of thermal catalysis and immobilization

Perfluoropolyether(PFPE)lubricants are a kind of high-molecular polymer with many excellent ***,the use of PFPEs in the nuclear industry can lead to partial decomposition and carrying radionuclides,resulting in a large amount of radioactive waste PFPE lubricants ***,radioactive waste PFPE lubricants are difficult to be effectively treated due to their high stability,the risk of possible leakage of radionuclides,and hypertoxic fluorine-containing *** this study,without any precedent,a strategy of Mn O_(2)-catalyzed decomposition and Na_(2)CO_(3)-immobilized conversion was proposed for PFPE lubricant decomposition and fluorine immobilization simultaneously based on the Lewis acid-base and oxygen vacancies concept.A high fluorine conversion efficiency of 95.4%was ***,the mechanism of decomposition suggested that Mn O_(2)mainly provided Lewis acid sites and attacked the(basic)fluorine or oxygen atoms in PFPE *** decomposition of PFPE chains was proceed down and volatile fluorine-containing gas was released by partial electron transfer,intramolecular disproportionation reaction,and unzipping ***,gas by-products could be further oxidized and then immobilized into fluoride salts by carbonate solid ***,this study provides a simple,safe,and potentially practical strategy for the harmless conversion of refractory fluorinated organic wastes,especially perfluoropolymers.

Orthorhombic Nb_(2)O_(5)(T-Nb_(2)O_(5))is attractive for fast-charging Li-ion batteries,but it is still hard to realize rapid charge transfer kinetics for Li-ion ***,F-doped T-Nb_(2)O_(5) microﬂowers(F-Nb_(2)O_(5))are rationally synthesized through topotactic ***,F-Nb_(2)O_(5) are assembled by single-crystal nanoﬂakes with nearly 97%exposed(100)facet,which maximizes the exposure of the feasible Li^(+)transport pathways along loosely packed 4g atomic layers to the electrolytes,thus effectively enhancing the Li^(+)-intercalation ***,the band gap of F-Nb_(2)O_(5) is reduced to 2.87 eV due to the doping of F atoms,leading to enhanced electrical *** synergetic effects between tailored exposed crystal facets,F-doping,and ultrathin building blocks,speed up the Li^(+)/electron transfer kinetics and improve the pseudocapacitive properties of F-Nb_(2)O_(5).Therefore,F-Nb_(2)O_(5) exhibit superior rate capability(210.8 and 164.9 mAh g^(-1) at 1 and 10 C,respectively)and good long-term 10 C cycling performance(132.7 mAh g^(-1) after 1500 cycles).

Photodynamic therapy（PDT）,with high spatiotemporal selectivity,minimal side effects and less drug resistance,has emerged as a promising approach for the treatment of ***,inadequate penetration depth and poor efficacy seriously restrict its practical *** address these challenges,we developed a combined therapy platform（RENP@C/D-FA） based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles（RENPs） with a structure of NaErF4:Tm（0.5%）@NaYF4,on which photosensitizer Ce6（chlorin e6） and chemo-therapeutic drug（DOX）(doxorubicin) were loaded by encapsulating with an amphiphilic polymer distearoyl phosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol-folic acid（DSPE-PEG-FA）.RENPs with NaErF4as the matrix possess multiple excitation/emission peaks,enabling activation of PDT under near-infrared-Ⅱb（NIR-Ⅱb,1500-1700 nm） excitation and luminescence imaging in NIR-Ⅱb region by absorbing 808 nm near-infrared ***,DOX can be selectively released in the acidic microenvironment of *** from the tumor targeting capability of folic acid,this platform can successfully ablate tumor cells and inhibit tumor growth by combining PDT and *** innovative approach holds great promise as a powerful tool for cancer treatment,showing the potential to revolutionize PDT.

Real-time model correction using Kalman filter for Raman-controlled cell culture processes

Raman spectroscopy has found extensive use in monitoring and controlling cell culture *** this context,the prediction accuracy of Raman-based models is of paramount ***,models established with data from manually fed-batch cultures often exhibit poor performance in Raman-controlled ***,there is a need for effective methods to rectify these *** objective of this paper is to investigate the efficacy of Kalman filter(KF)algorithm in correcting Raman-based models during cell ***,partial least squares(PLS)models for different components were constructed using data from manually fed-batch cultures,and the predictive performance of these models was ***,various correction methods including the PLS-KF-KF method proposed in this study were employed to refine the PLS ***,a case study involving the auto-control of glucose concentration demonstrated the application of optimal model correction *** results indicated that the original PLS models exhibited differential performance between manually fed-batch cultures and Raman-controlled *** glucose,the root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP)of manually fed-batch culture and Raman-controlled culture was 0.23 and 0.40 g·L^(-1).With the implementation of model correction methods,there was a significant improvement in model performance within Raman-controlled *** RMSEP for glucose from updating-PLS,KF-PLS,and PLS-KF-KF was 0.38,0.36 and 0.17 g·L^(-1),***,the proposed PLS-KF-KF model correction method was found to be more effective and stable,playing a vital role in the automated nutrient feeding of cell cultures.

Considerable progress has been made in recent years to the development of sustainable polymers from bio-based *** this study,100%bio-based nylons were prepared via an integrated chemical and biological process from *** novel nylons were obtained by the melt polymerization of 3-propyladipic acid derived from lignin and 1,5-pentenediamine/1,4-butanediamine derived from carbohydrate *** to the concept is a three-step noble metal free catalytic chemical funnelling sequence(Raney Ni mediated reductive catalytic fractionation-reductive funnelling-oxidative funnelling),which allowed for obtaining a single component 3-propyladipic acid from lignin with high *** structural and thermodynamic properties of the obtained nylons have been systematically investigated,and thus obtained transparent bio-based nylons exhibited higher Mw(>32,000)and excellent thermal stability(Td5%>265℃).Considering their moderate Tg and good melt strength,these transparent bio-based nylons could serve as promising functional additives or temperature-responsive materials.

Adolescent binge drinking leads to long-lasting disorders of the adult central nervous system,particularly aberrant hippocampal *** this study,we applied in vivo fluorescent tracing using NestinCreERT2::Rosa26-tdTomato mice and analyzed the endogenous neurogenesis lineage progression of neural stem cells(NSCs)and dendritic spine formation of newborn neurons in the subgranular zone of the dentate *** found abnormal orientation of tamoxifen-induced tdTomato+(tdTom^(+))NSCs in adult mice 2 months after treatment with EtOH(5.0 g/kg,i.p.)for 7 consecutive *** markedly inhibited tdTom^(+)NSCs activation and hippocampal neurogenesis in mouse dentate gyrus from adolescence to ***(100 mM)also significantly inhibited the proliferation to 39.2%and differentiation of primary NSCs in *** mice exposed to EtOH also exhibited marked inhibitions in dendritic spine growth and newborn neuron maturation in the dentate gyrus,which was partially reversed by voluntary running or inhibition of the mammalian target of rapamycinenhancer of zeste homolog 2 *** vivo tracing revealed that EtOH induced abnormal orientation of tdTom+NSCs and spatial misposition defects of newborn neurons,thus causing the disturbance of hippocampal neurogenesis and dendritic spine remodeling in mice.
