The evolution and functional divergence of 10 Apolipoprotein D-like genes in Nilaparvata lugens

Apolipoprotein D(ApoD),a member of the lipocalin superfamily of proteins,is involved in lipid transport and stress *** only a single copy of the ApoD gene is found in humans and some other vertebrates,there are typically several ApoD-like genes in *** date,there have been relatively few studies that have examined the evolution and functional differentiation of ApoD-like genes in insects,particularly hemi-metabolous *** this study,we identified 10 ApoD-like genes(NlApoD1−10)with distinct spatiotemporal expression patterns in Nilaparvata lugens(BPH),which is an important pest of ***1−10 were found to be distributed on 3 chromosomes in a tandem array of NlApoD1/2,NlApoD3−5,and NlApoD7/8,and show sequence and gene structural divergence in the coding regions,indicating that multiple gene duplication events occurred during *** analysis revealed that NlApoD1−10 can be clustered into 5 clades,with NlApoD3−5 and NlApoD7/8 potentially evolving exclusively in the Delphacidae *** screening using an RNA interference approach revealed that only NlApoD2 was essential for BPH development and survival,whereas NlApoD4/5 are highly expressed in testes,and might play roles in ***,stress response analysis revealed that NlApoD3−5/9,NlApoD3−5,and NlApoD9 were up-regulated after treatment with lipopolysaccharide,H2O2,and ultraviolet-C,respectively,indicating their potential roles in stress resistance.

Target-induced Trivalent G-quadruplex/hemin DNAzyme for Colorimetric Detection of Hg^(2+) Based on an Exonuclease III Assisted Catalytic Hairpin Assembly

Mercury ion(Hg^(2+)),a highly noxious of heavy metalion,has detrimental effects on the ecological environment and human ***,we have developed an exonuclease III(Exo III)assisted catalytic hairpin assembly formation of a trivalent G-quadruplex/hemin DNAzyme for colorimetric detection of Hg^(2+).A hairpin DNA(Hr)was designed with thymine-Hg^(2+)-thymine pairs that catalyzed by Exo III is prompted to happen upon binding Hg^(2+).A released DNA fragment triggers the catalytic assembly of other three hairpins(H1,H2,and H3)to form many trivalent G-quadruplex/hemin DNA enzymes for signal *** developed sensor shows a dynamic range from 2 pM to 2μM,with an impressively low detection limit of 0.32 pM for Hg^(2+)*** a sensor also has good selectivity toward Hg^(2+)detection in the presence of other common metal *** strategy shows the great potential for visual detection with portable type.

Calcium-fortified fresh milk ameliorates postmenopausal osteoporosis via regulation of bone metabolism and gut microbiota in ovariectomized rats

The aging of the global population has made postmenopausal osteoporosis prevention essential;however,pharmacological treatments are ***,we evaluate the effect of calcium-fortified fresh milk(FM)in ameliorating postmenopausal osteoporosis in a rat model established using bilateral *** 3 months of FM(containing vitamin D,and casein phosphopeptides,1000 mg Ca/100 g)or control milk(110 mg Ca/100 g milk)supplementation,bone changes were assessed using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry,microcomputed tomography,and bone biomechanical *** results revealed that FM can regulate bone metabolism and gut microbiota composition,which act on bone metabolism through pathways associated with steroid hormone biosynthesis,relaxin signaling,serotonergic synapse,and unsaturated fatty acid ***,FM administration significantly increased bone mineral content and density in the lumbar spine and femur,as well as femoral compressive strength,while improving femoral trabecular bone parameters and ***,we found that the effects may be due to increased levels of estrogen,bone formation marker osteocalcin,and procollagen typeⅠN-propeptide,and decreased expression of the bone resorption marker C-telopiptide and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase ***,the findings suggest that FM is a potential alternative therapeutic option for ameliorating postmenopausal osteoporosis.

The main advantage of digital PCR(dPCR) is that it facilitates absolute quantification of the target without reference to the standard/calibration *** droplet dPCR has a three-color staining detection function,which enables multiplex PCR *** this study,this technique was used to establish triple dPCR detection for the genetically modified soybean MON87708 × MON89788 with stacked *** absolute quantitative detection was accomplished for the genomic DNA extracted from the homogenized seeds of GM stack MON87708× MON89788 *** results can serve as a reference for the absolute quantitative detection of stacked events of genetically modified crops.

In this paper,tannic acid(TA)and Fe~(3+)were added to form a layer of metal-polyphenol network structure on the surface of the nanoparticles which were fabricated by zein and carbon quantum dots(CQDs)encapsulating phlorotannins(PTN).pH-Responsive nanoparticles were prepared successfully(zein-PTN-CQDs-Fe-~Ⅲ).Further,the formation of composite nanoparticles was confirmed by a series of characterization *** zeta-potential and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy data proved that electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding are dominant forces to form *** encapsulation efficiency(EE)revealed that metal-polyphenol network structure could improve the EE of *** analysis and differential scanning calorimetry experiment indicated the thermal stability of zein-PTN-CQDs-Fe~Ⅲnanoparticles increased because of metal-polyphenol network *** pH-responsive nanoparticles greatly increased the release rate of active substances and achieved targeted release.

Study on burrowing nematode, Radopholus similis, pathogenicity test system in tobacco as host

Radopholus similis(Cobb 1893) Thorne(1949) is a destructive migratory endoparasitic plant nematode. In this study,the pathogenic process of R. similis infection in Nicotiana benthamiana(tobacco) was studied using quartz sand culture in laboratory. The results showed that R. similis mainly parasitised the root cortex, leading to cortical cell decomposition and tissue decay. We optimised the inoculation conditions to establish a method for determining the pathogenicity of R. similis as follows:(1) a glass culture tube was filled with quartz sand(about 1/3 of the height) and sterilised twice;(2) 20-day-old N. benthamiana seedlings were transplanted into test tubes and cultivated for 10 days at(25±1)°C;(3) R. similis female nematodes were inoculated in the root rhizosphere at a rate of 150 nematodes per plant;(4) the number of nematodes, disease severity, and growth of the plant at 30 days post-inoculation(dpi) were determined. The pathogenicity of eight R. similis populations from different hosts was determined, which proved the feasibility of this method.

In this paper,we present an effective prismatic mesh generation method for viscous flow *** address the prismatic mesh collisions in recessed cavities or slit areas,we exploit 3D tensors controlled anisotropic volume harmonic field to generate prismatic ***,a well-fitting tetrahedral mesh is first constructed to serve as the discrete computation domain of volume harmonic ***,3D tensors are exploited to control the volume harmonic field that better fits the shape *** the topological perspective,the generation of the prismatic mesh can be treated as a topology-preserved morphing of the viscous ***,iso-surfaces in the volume harmonic field should be homeomorphic to the viscous wall while fitting its ***,a full prismatic mesh can be induced by estimating the forward directions and visible regions in the volume harmonic ***,to be compatible with different simulation situations,the thickness of prismatic meshes should be *** approach provides local adjustable thickness of prismatic meshes,which can be achieved by controlling local 3D *** proposed anisotropic volume harmonic field based prismatic meshes are efficient and robust,and a full prismatic mesh can be guaranteed without low quality *** experiments have shown that our proposed prismatic meshes have obvious advantages in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.

Brine shrimp(Artemia)has existed on Earth for 400 million years and has major ecological importance in hypersaline *** a crucial live food in aquaculture,brine shrimp cysts have become one of the most important aquatic products traded ***,our understanding of the biodiversity,prevalence and global connectedness of viruses in brine shrimp is still very limited.A total of 143 batches of brine shrimp(belonging to seven species)cysts were collected from six continents including 21 countries and more than 100 geographic locations worldwide during 1977–*** total,55 novel RNA viruses were identified,which could be assigned to 18 different viral families and related *** viruses were dsRNA viruses,16 were+ssRNA viruses,and 28 were−ssRNA *** analyses of the RNA-directed RNA polymerase(RdRp)showed that brine shrimp viruses were often grouped with viruses isolated from other invertebrates and ***,most brine shrimp viruses were related to those from different hosts that might feed on brine shrimp or share the same ecological niche.A notable case was the novel brine shrimp noda-like virus 3,which shared 79.25%(RdRp)and 63.88%(capsid proteins)amino acid identity with covert mortality nodavirus(CMNV)that may cause losses in *** addition,both virome composition and phylogenetic analyses revealed global connectedness in certain brine shrimp viruses,particularly among Asia and Northern *** highlights the incredible species diversity of viruses in these ancient species and provides essential data for the prevalence of RNA viruses in the global aquaculture *** broadly,these findings provide novel insights into the previously unrecognized RNA virosphere in hypersaline ecosystems worldwide and demonstrate that human activity might have driven the global connectedness of brine shrimp viruses.

Risk Analysis of Chemical Hazards Based on the Case of EU Children’s Products Recalled and Study on the Reasonable Limitation of Harmful Element in Toys

The trade situation about China’s export of toy products to the EU was introduced. The recall characteristics of China’s toy products by the EU “Safety Gate” in terms of recall frequency, notified countries, taken measures, and reasons for recall were analyzed in this paper, and the risk factors of human health of unqualified products in terms of chemical hazards were studied in this paper. It is found that phthalate, boron, plumbum and cadmium were the main factors. Assessment of risk for boron in toys was conducted. It is suggested to limit the boron element in Slime: the limit of migration of boron in Slime toys for 3- to 6-year-old children shall be less than 704 mg/kg, and the limitation of migration of boron in Slime toys for 7- to 12-year-old children shall be less than 1268 mg/kg.

Studies have found a U-shaped relationship between sleep duration and chronic kidney disease(CKD)risk,but limited research evaluated the association of reallocating excessive sleep to other behavior with *** included 104538 participants from the nationwide cohort of the Risk Evaluation of Cancers in Chinese Diabetic Individuals:A Longitudinal Study,with self-reported time of daily-life *** isotemporal substitution models,we found that substituting 1 h of sleeping with sitting,walking,or moderate-to-vigorous physical activity was associated with a lower CKD ***-time physical activity displacement was associated with a greater prevalence reduction than occupational physical activity in working *** stratified analysis,a lower CKD prevalence related to substitution toward physical activity was found in long *** pronounced correlations were observed in long sleepers with diabetes than in those with prediabetes,and they benefited from other behavior substitutions toward a more active *** U-shaped association between sleep duration and CKD prevalence implied the potential effects of insufficient and excessive sleep on the kidneys,in which the pernicious link with oversleep could be reversed by time reallocation to physical *** divergence in the predicted effect on CKD following time reallocation to behavior of different domains and intensities and in subpopulations with diverse metabolic statuses underlined the importance of optimizing sleeping patterns and adjusting integral behavioral composition.
