Statistic analysis of 6891 cancer-paining patients' information from Gansu Province tumour hospital,China

Objective： To analyze and gain the interlinking degree of the cancer pain with patients＇ cancer-species, sexuality and age etc. Methods： The information of narcotic drugs used for cancer pain patients in our hospital （Gansu Province Turnout hospital, China） during 2002-2007 were typed in designed EXCEL form, then counted and analyzed. Results： The total number of cancer pain patients used narcotic drugs during 2002-2007 was 6891 （n = 6891 ）, among them, 4164 （60.44%） were males, and 2727 （39.56%） females. The top-range of cancer-species in those patients was as follows： lung cancer （20.39%）, gastric cancer （14.85%）, esophageal cancer （9.71%）, hysterocarcinoma （6.79%）, liver cancer （6.70%） and breast cancer （6.31%）. Conclusion：（a） The male number of cancer pain patients using narcotic drugs is higher than the female number （1.53：1）. （b） In the cases of lung cancer, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer and kidney cancer, the male numbers are twice more than the female numbers, and the difference between the two groups are significant. （c） Most of the cancer pain patients （over 87%） are over 40 years old.

AIM To investigate the incidence and mortality rates of upper gastrointestinal cancer(UGIC) in Hebei Province, China, and to identify high-risk populations to improve UGIC prevention and *** Data for UGIC patients were collected from 21 population-based cancer registries covering 15.25% of the population in Hebei Province. Mortality data were extracted from three national retrospective death surveys(1973-1975, 1990-1992 and 2004-2005). The data were stratified by 5-year age groups, gender and area(high-risk/non-high-risk areas) for analysis. The age-period-cohort and grey system model were *** The crude incidence rate of UGIC was 55.47/100000, and the adjusted rate(Segi's population) was 44.90/100000. Males in rural areas had the highest incidence rate(world age-standardized rate = 87.89/100000). The crude mortality rate of UGIC displayed a decreasing trend in Hebei Province from the 1970 s to 2013, and the adjusted rate decreased by 43.81% from the 1970s(58.07/100000) to 2013(32.63/100000). The mortality rate declined more significantly in the high-risk areas(57.26%) than in the non-high-risk areas(55.02%) from the 1970 s to 2013. The median age at diagnosis of UGIC was 65.06 years in 2013. There was a notable delay in the median age at death from the 1970s(66.15 years) to 2013(70.39 years), especially in the high-risk areas. In Cixian, the total trend of the cohort effect declined, and people aged 65-69 years were a population at relatively high risk for UGIC. We predicted that the crude mortality rates of UGIC in Cixian and Shexian would decrease to 98.80 and 133.99 per 100000 in 2018, *** UGIC was the major cause of cancer death in Hebei Province, and males in rural areas were a high-risk population. Objective: To observe the antitumor effect and mechanism of recombinant human endostatin(Endostar) injection in tumor combined with intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin on subcutaneous transplanted Lewis lung cancer in rats. Methods: A total of 30 C57 rats were selected, and the monoplast suspension of Lewis lung cancer was injected into the left axilla to prepare the subcutaneous transplanted tumor models in the axilla of right upper limb. The models were randomly divided into Groups A, B, and C. Medication was conducted when the tumor grew to 400 mm3. Group A was the control group without any interventional treatment. Group B was injected with Endostar 5 ***-1.d for 10 d. Group C was given the injection of Endostar 5 ***-1.d combined with intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin 5 ***-1.d for 10 d. All the rats in three groups were executed the day after the 10-d medication and the tumor was taken off for measurement of volume and mass changes and calculation of antitumor rate, after which the vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) concentration in rats' plasma was determined by ELISA. The tumor tissues were cut for the preparation of conventional biopsies. After hematoxylin-eosin staining, the pathologic histology was examined to observe the structures of tumor tissues, VEGF score and microvessel density(MVD) in each group. Results: The volume and mass of tumor in Groups B and C were significantly lower than Group A(P < 0.05) while the tumor volume and mass in Group C were significantly lower than Group B(P < 0.05). The antitumor rate in Group C was significantly higher than Group B(P < 0.05), but the tumor VEGF score, MVD and plasma VEGF level in Group C were significantly lower than Groups A and B(P < 0.05). In Group B, the tumor VEGF score, MVD and plasma VEGF level were significantly lower than Group A(P < 0.05). The microscopic image of Group C showed that its number of active tumor cells and the blood capillary around tumor was significantly smaller

AIM： To explore whether polymorphisms of the CYPIA1 and GSTM1 genes are associated with susceptibility of stomach cancer. METHODS： A total of 102 stomach cancer cases and 62 healthy persons were diagnosed by pathology in 1998- 2000 in the Qilu hospital of Shandong University. Gene polymorphisms were detected by the PCR using sequencespecific primers. Data analysis of the case-control study was carried out using the unconditional logistic method. RESULTS： After adjustment for age, sex, educational levels, and occupation, the risk factors for stomach cancer were shown to be smoking, Helicobacter pylori （H pylon）, and presence of the CYPIM G/G and GSTM1O/O genotypes. Interaction was observed between the combined genotypes of either CYPIA1 G/G and GSTM1O/O or Hpyloriinfection, or GSTM1O/O and Hpyloriinfection or smoking. CONCLUSION： Polymorphisms of the CYPIA1 and GSTM1 genes, Hpyloriinfection and smoking are related to susceptibility to stomach cancer.

Between 1985 and 1989, 285 cases of metastatic carcinoma in the supraclavicular lymph nodes were treated by the following five methods: Chinese medication, radiotherapy plus Chinese medication, chemotherapy plus Chinese medication, combined Chinese and Western medicine and expectant treatment. Analysis shows that radiotherapy plus Chinese medication has the best curative effect with an effective rate of 75.5%. The effective rates were 74.2% for the combined treatment, 55.5% for the chemotherapy plus medication, 12.5% for the Chinese medication, and none for expectant treatment.
