After one-month of oral treatment with traditional chinese medicine decoction,without using other drugs,the lung inflammatory exudate,pulmonary fibrosis and quality of life of a 61-year-old female patient with corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)were significantly *** recurrence or deterioration of the patient’s condition was found within seven weeks of treatment and follow-up,and no adverse events occurred,indicating that oral chinese medicine decoction was able to improve the pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in a patient recovering from COVID-19,but further research is still needed.

Foregut cystic developmental malformation(FCDM) is a very rare lesion of the alimentary tract, especially in the stomach. We discuss the concepts of gastric duplication cyst, bronchogenic cysts, and FCDM. Nomenclature has been inconsistent and confusing, but, by some definitions, gastric duplication cysts involve gastric mucosa and submucosal glands, bronchogenic cysts involve respiratory mucosa with underlying cartilage and glands, and FCDM lacks gastric mucosa or underlying glands or cartilage but has pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium(PCCE). We searched our departmental case files from the past 15 years and identified 12 cases of FCDM in the alimentary tract. We summarize the features of these 12 cases including a report in detail on a 52-year-old man with a submucosal cyst lined with simple PCCE and irregular and stratified circular muscle layers that merged with gastric smooth muscle bundles near the lesser curvature of the gastric cardia. A literature review of cases with this histology yielded 25 cases. We propose the term gastric-FCDM for such cases. Our own series of 12 cases confirms that preoperative recognition of the entity is infrequent and problematic. The rarity of this developmental disorder, as well as a lack of understanding of its embryologic origins, may contribute to missing the diagnosis. Not appreciating the diagnosis preoperatively can lead to an inappropriate surgical approach. In contrast, presurgical recognition of the entity will contribute to a good outcome and reduced risk of complications.

Objective: To study the effect of emodin on protein and gene expressions of the massagers in mobility signal transduction system of cholecyst smooth muscle cells in guinea pig with cholesterol calculus. Methods: The guinea pigs were randomly divided into 4 groups, such as control group, gall-stone(GS) group, emodin group and ursodesoxycholic acid(UA) group. Cholesterol calculus models were induced in guinea pigs of GS, emodin and UA groups of induced models by lithogenic diet, while emodin or UA were given to the corresponding group for 7 weeks. The histomorphological and ultrastructure change of gallbladder were detected by microscope and electron microscope, the content of plasma cholecystokinin(CCK) and [Ca^(2+)]i were analyzed successively by radioimmunoassay and flow cytometry. The protein and mR NA of Gsα, Giα and Cap in cholecyst cells were determined by western blotting and real time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). Results: Emodin or UA can relieve pathogenic changes in epithelial cells and muscle cells in gallbladder of guinea pig with cholesterol calculus by microscope and transmission electron microscope. In the cholecyst cells of GS group, CCK levels in plasma and [Ca^(2+)]i decreased, the protein and m RNA of GS group were downregulated,the protein and m RNA of Gi and Cap were up-regulated. Emodin significantly decreased the formative rate of gallstone, improved the pathogenic change in epithelial cells and muscle cells, increased CCK levels in plasma and [Ca^(2+)]i in cholecyst cells, enhanced the protein and mR NA of Gs in cholecyst cells, reduced the protein and mR NA of Gi and Cap in cholecyst cells in guinea pig with cholesterol calculus. Conclusion: The dysfunction of gallbladder contraction gives rise to the disorders of mobility signal transduction system in cholecyst smooth muscle cells, including low content of plasma CCK and [Ca^(2+)]i in cholecyst cells, abnormal protein and mRNA of Gs, Gi and Cap. AIM: To assess the correlation between decreased Muc5 AC expression and patients' survival and clinicopathological characteristics by conducting a ***: Literature searches were performed in Pub Med and EMBASE,and 11 studies met our criteria. Summary hazard ratios or odds ratios(ORs) with 95% confidence intervals(CIs) were calculated to estimate the effect. For the pooled analysis of the correlation between decreased Muc5 AC expression and clinicopathological characteristics(tumour invasion depth,lymph node metastasis,tumour-node-metastasis stage,tumour size,venous invasion and lymphatic invasion),ORs and their variance were combined to estimate the effect. RESULTS: Eleven retrospective cohort studies comprising 2135 patients were included to assess the association between Muc5 AC expression and overall survival and/or clinicopathological characteristics. Decreased Muc5 AC expression was significantly correlated with poor overall survival of gastric cancer patients(pooled HR = 1.35,95%CI: 1.08-1.7). Moreover,decreased Muc5 AC expression was also significantly associated with tumour invasion depth(pooled OR =2.12,95%CI: 1.56-2.87) and lymph node metastasis(pooled OR = 1.56,95%CI: 1.00-2.44) in gastric ***: Decreased Muc5 AC expression might be a poor prognostic predictor for gastric cancer.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of Qizhukangxian granules(QG)on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF).METHODS:This is a randomized,double blind,placebo-controlled and multicenter clinical pilot *** medical centers in Tianjin,China,participated in the study.A total of 120 IPF patients were enrolled and randomized into two groups,with 60 patients in each *** treatment group was treated with QG,while the control group received a Qizhukangxian *** pharmacological treatment lasted for 48 weeks from the enrollment *** indexes of patients were recorded on the admission day and at the end of the 24th and 48th *** were analyzed to study the effects of QG;forced vital capacity,change in forced vital capacity and maximal 6-min walk test(6MWT)distance were the primary *** endpoints were percentage of patients with episodes of acute exacerbation of IPF,pulmonary function,changes in pulse oxygen saturation during the 6MWT,dyspnea score,***'s respiratory questionnaire score,arterial blood gas analyses and the total traditional chinese medicine symptom pattern ***:After 24 weeks of treatment,QG showed greater efficacy than the placebo in certain parameters,including the dyspnea score,traditional chinese medicine symptom pattern score and some indicators in the ***'s respiratory questionnaire *** of the indexes obtained from all patients at the end of the 48th week showed that the therapeutic effects in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group because remarkable differences were observed in most of the primary and secondary endpoints between the two groups,except for the maximal distance of the 6MWT and arterial blood gas *** adverse reaction was observed in either group during the 48-week trial treatment ***:QG could effectively treat IPF patients by ameliorating pulmonary function,improving the quality of life and lowering the percentage of acu

Cytoplasmic lipid droplet （LD） lipolysis is regulated by pheromone biosynthe- sis activating neuropeptide （PBAN） in Bombyx mori. To elucidate the molecular mechanism of cytoplasm LD lipolysis, the pancreatic lipase-like gene in B. mori pheromone glands （PGs）, designated as B. mori pancreatic lipase-like gene （BmPLLG）, was identified in this study. Spatial expression analysis revealed that BmPLLG is a ubiquitous gene present in all studied tissues, such as PGs, brain, epidermis, egg, midgut, flight muscle and fat body. Temporal expression analysis showed that the BmPLLG transcript begins to express 96 h before eclosion （-96 h）, continues to increase, peaks in newly emerged females and steadily decreases after eclosion. Translational expression analysis of BmPLLG using a prepared antiserum demonstrated that BmPLLG was expressed in an age-dependent pat- tern at different development stages in B. mori. This finding was similar to the transcript expression pattern. Further RNA interference-mediated knockdown of BmPLLG signifi- cantly inhibited bombykol production. Overall, these results demonstrated that BmPLLG is involved in PBAN-induced sex pheromone biosynthesis and release.
