Sirtuin 3(SIRT3)is well known as a conserved nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide^(+)(NAD^(+))-dependent deacetylase located in the mitochondria that may regulate oxidative stress,catabolism and ATP *** evidence has recently revealed that SIRT3 plays its critical roles in cardiac fibrosis,myocardial fibrosis and even heart failure(HF),through its deacetylation ***,discovery of SIRT3 activators and elucidating their underlying mechanisms of HF should be urgently ***,we identified a new small-molecule activator of SIRT3(named 2-APQC)by the structure-based drug designing strategy.2-APQC was shown to alleviate isoproterenol(ISO)-induced cardiac hypertrophy and myocardial fibrosis in vitro and in vivo rat ***,in SIRT3 knockout mice,2-APQC could not relieve HF,suggesting that 2-APQC is dependent on SIRT3 for its protective ***,2-APQC was found to inhibit the mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)-p70 ribosomal protein S6 kinase(p70S6K),c-jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)/small mother against decapentaplegic 3(Smad3)pathways to improve ISO-induced cardiac hypertrophy and myocardial *** upon RNA-seq analyses,we demonstrated that SIRT3-pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase 1(PYCR1)axis was closely assoiated with *** activating PYCR1,2-APQC was shown to enhance mitochondrial proline metabolism,inhibited reactive oxygen species(ROS)-p38 mitogen activated protein kinase(p38MAPK)pathway and thereby protecting against ISO-induced mitochondrialoxidative ***,activation of SIRT3 by 2-APQC could facilitate AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)-Parkin axis to inhibit ISO-induced ***,our results demonstrate that 2-APQC is a targeted SIRT3 activator that alleviates myocardial hypertrophy and fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial homeostasis,which may provide a new clue on exploiting a promising drug candidate for the future HF therapeutics.

As an alternative to Li-ion batteries,aqueous Zn batteries have gained attention due to the abundance of Zn metal,low reduction potential(-0.76 V *** hydrogen electrode),and high theoretical capacity(820 mAh g^(-1))of multivalent Zn2+***,the growth of Zn dendrites and the formation of irreversible surface reaction byproducts pose challenges for ensuring a long battery lifespan and ***,the Cu foil coated with a single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT)layer using a facile doctor blade casting method is *** SWCNT-coated Cu foil demonstrates a significantly longer battery lifespan compared to the bare Cu in the half-cell *** operando optical microscopy imaging,we are able to provide intuitive evidence that Zn deposition occurs between the carbon nanotube(CNT)coating and Cu substrate,in agreement with the computational ***,with various imaging techniques,the flat morphology and homogeneous distribution of Zn beneath the SWCNT layer are *** addition,the full-cell using CNT-coated Cu exhibits a long cycle life compared to the control group,thereby demonstrating improved electrochemical performance with limited Zn for the cycling process.

Large Seebeck coefficients induced by high degeneracy of conduction band minimum,and low intrinsic lattice thermal conductivity originated from large lattice vibrational anharmonicity render Mg_(3)Sb_(2)as a promising n-type thermoelectric ***,we demonstrated unique concentration-dependent occupation behaviors of Cu in Mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)matrix,evidenced by structural characterization and transport property *** is found that Cu atoms prefer to enter the interstitial lattice sites in Mg_(3)Sb_(2)host with low doping level(Mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)+x%Cu,x<0.3%),acting as donors for providing additional electrons without deteriorating the carrier *** x is larger than 0.3%,the excessive Cu atoms are inclined to substitute Mg atoms,yielding acceptors to decrease the electron *** a result,the electrical conductivity of the Mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)+0.3%Cu sample reaches 2.3×10^(4)S/m at 300 K,increasing by 300%compared with that of the pristine *** figure of merit zT values in the whole measured temperature range are significantly improved by the synergetic improvement of power factor and reduction of thermal *** average zT∼1.07 from 323 K to 773 K has been achieved for the Mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)+0.3%Cu sample,which is about 30%higher than that of the Mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01) sample.

Diet mediates the gut microbiome composition and assembly processes in infant and toddler populations

Infancy and toddlerhood are critical phases of life， as the gut microbiota is established here， which influences current and future health. During this period， the microbiota was relatively less stable and highly responsive to environmental factors. Therefore， it is important to understand how dietary factors affect this complex stage of microbial assembly. The effect of feeding practices (breast milk/formula) on microbial colonization in early infancy has been actively studied; however， studies on the effect of diet on the gut microbiota during the complementary feeding period are sparse. The introduction of complementary foods provides abundant new dietary compounds for the gut microbiota， which induces a shift in gut microbiota and metabolism from milk-adapted toward a more mature and diverse adult-like community. Herein， we discuss the impact of dietary nutrients (carbohydrates， proteins， fats， vitamins， and minerals) on microbiome of infants and toddlers. Furthermore， this review summarizes the effects of complementary feeding patterns， specific foods (such as cereals; legumes and nuts; vegetables and fruits; meats; dairy products)， food additives， and malnutrition (undernutrition or overnutrition) on gut microbiota of this populations. These findings might deepen our comprehension of the complex interactions between diets and the development and establishment of the gut microbiota. This may facilitate the tailoring of interventions aimed at promoting beneficial modifications within the gut microbial community. Furthermore， the insights gained could inform the design and implementation of safe and efficacious complementary feeding practices.

Multi-modal knowledge graph inference via media convergence and logic rule

Media convergence works by processing information from different modalities and applying them to different *** is difficult for the conventional knowledge graph to utilise multi-media features because the introduction of a large amount of information from other modalities reduces the effectiveness of representation learning and makes knowledge graph inference less *** address the issue,an inference method based on Media Convergence and Rule-guided Joint Inference model(MCRJI)has been *** authors not only converge multi-media features of entities but also introduce logic rules to improve the accuracy and interpretability of link ***,a multi-headed self-attention approach is used to obtain the attention of different media features of entities during semantic ***,logic rules of different lengths are mined from knowledge graph to learn new entity ***,knowledge graph inference is performed based on representing entities that converge multi-media *** experimental results show that MCRJI outperforms other advanced baselines in using multi-media features and knowledge graph inference,demonstrating that MCRJI provides an excellent approach for knowledge graph inference with converged multi-media features.

Effects of capsaicin on intestinal health under antibiotic exposure

Antibiotic exposure has adverse effects on intestinal immunity， metabolism， and gut microbiota (GM) composition， particularly by disturbing GM composition without short-term recovery. Capsaicin， a dietary irritant， is generally avoided during antibiotic therapy， but its mechanism remains unclear. To explore the effects of capsaicin on intestinal health during antibiotic administration， we conducted experiments in specific pathogen free (SPF) and germ-free (GF) mice and correlation analyses using 16S rRNA sequencing and non-targeted metabolomics to explore the protective role of the intestinal biological barrier. The results showed that additional supplementation of capsaicin under antibiotic exposure did not cause serious damage to the intestine， but had potential adverse effects on the structure， function， and metabolites of GM， including increasing the abundance of opportunistic pathogens (Mucispirillum and Aeromonas)， enriching metabolic pathways (arachidonic acid metabolism and lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis)， and metabolites associated with colon inflammation (N-acetylhistamine). In the absence of GM barrier， the beneficial function of capsaicin on the intestine was weakened and even induced adverse effects， suggesting that GM may have a certain mediating mechanism in the physiological function of capsaicin.

Augmentation of abnormal cells in the brain causes brain tumor(BT),and early screening and treatmentwill reduce its harshness in ***’s clinical level screening is usually performed with Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)due to its multi-modality *** overall aims of the study is to introduce,test and verify an advanced image processing technique with algorithms to automatically extract tumour sections from brain MRI scans,facilitating improved *** research intends to devise a reliable framework for detecting the BT region in the twodimensional(2D)MRI slice,and identifying its class with improved *** methodology for the devised framework comprises the phases of:(i)Collection and resizing of images,(ii)Implementation and Segmentation of Convolutional Neural Network(CNN),(iii)Deep feature extraction,(iv)Handcrafted feature extraction,(v)Moth-Flame-Algorithm(MFA)supported feature reduction,and(vi)Performance *** study utilized clinical-grade brain MRI of BRATS and TCIA datasets for the *** framework segments detected the glioma(low/high grade)and glioblastoma class *** work helped to get a segmentation accuracy of over 98%with VGG-UNet and a classification accuracy of over 98%with the VGG16 *** study has confirmed that the implemented framework is very efficient in detecting the BT in MRI slices with/without the skull section.

Laser speckle contrast imaging based on uniting spatiotemporal Fourier transform

We propose a laser speckle contrast imaging method based on uniting spatiotemporal Fourier ***,the raw speckle images are entirely transformed to the spatiotemporal frequency domain with a three-dimensional(3D)fast Fourier ***,the dynamic and static speckle components are extracted by applying 3D low-pass and high-pass filtering in the spatiotemporal frequency domain and inverse 3D Fourier ***,we calculate the time-averaged modulation depth with the average of both components to map the two-dimensional blood flow *** experiments demonstrate that the proposed method could effectively improve computational efficiency and imaging quality.

Environmental enrichment in combination with Bifidobacterium breve HNXY26M4 intervention amplifies neuroprotective benefits in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease by modulating glutamine metabolism of the gut microbiome

The gut microbiota-brain axis has emerged as a novel target for Alzheimer's disease(AD),a neurodegenerative disease characterised by behavioural and cognitive ***,most previous microbiome-based intervention studies have focused on single factors and yielded only modest cognitive ***,we proposed a multidomain intervention strategy that combined Bifidobacterium breve treatment with environmental enrichment(EE)*** this study,we found that compared with EE or *** treatment alone,*** intervention combined with EE amplified its neuroprotective effects on AD mice,as reflected by improved cognition,inhibited neuroinflammation and enhanced synaptic ***,using microbiome and metabolome profiling,we found that the combination of *** and EE treatment restored AD-related gut microbiota dysbiosis and reversed microbial metabolite ***,by integrating behavioural and neurological data with metabolomic profiles,we revealed that the underlying mechanism may involve the modulation of microbiota-derived glutamine metabolism via gut-brain ***,combined *** intervention with EE treatment can alleviate AD-related cognitive impairment and improve brain function by regulating glutamine metabolism of the gut *** findings provide a promising multidomain intervention strategy,with a combination of dietary microbiome-based and lifestyle-targeted interventions,to promote brain function and delay the progression of AD.
