BACKGROUND Colorectal mucinous adenocarcinoma is a rare subtype of colorectal cancer and is characterized by an abundance of mucin in the *** addition,the colorectal mucinous adenocarcinoma often demonstrates poor differentiation in the histology of tumor cells and poor prognosis compared with those with ***,we present the case of a young woman with colonic mucinous adenocarcinoma showing significantly rapid progression within four months of immunosuppressant therapy for Henoch-Schonlein *** SUMMARY Here we report a rare case of ascending colon mucinous adenocarcinoma with lymph node and liver metastases which developed and progressed rapidly within four months during the treatment of Henoch-Schonlein purpura using *** systemic screening examinations showed no tumors before the immunosuppressant ***,the patient was successfully treated with *** While no direct evidence that the immunosuppressants accelerated the tumor development,the case presen-ta tion and review of the literature demonstrated that surveillance for malig-nancies before and during treatment with immunosuppressive agents is essential.

This fundamental study investigates how“super-resolution”technology based on sparse modeling,which has attracted attention in various fields,can be applied to the information-oriented construction of temporary soil-retaining *** machine learning process adopted here is based on the analytical results of numerical computations that involve many preliminary assumptions related to soilretaining walls,rather than the collection of images utilized in the image reconstruction ***,bases for vectors related to the displacement of retaining walls are generated using efficient inverse analysis and“super-resolution”processing from sparse amounts of physical observation *** purpose is to improve the properties of the inverse problem by artificial interpolation based on numerical *** has been shown that the inverse analysis related to the displacement of retaining walls can be performed efficiently and that highly accurate predictions can be achieved even with limited physical *** general,the inverse analysis of retaining walls is an ill-posed ***,if the number of apparent observations reconverted by“super-resolution”technology exceeds the number of unknown parameters,then the displacement distribution of a retaining wall can be estimated *** original idea is to break down the inverse problem into two separate problems by addressing the earth pressure distribution acting on the retaining *** makes it possible to identify the part to which the nonlinear inverse problem can be applied and to facilitate the efficient estimation and interpretation of the results.

The 1995 Northern niigata Earthquake (M 6.0) occurred at a shallow depth in the niigata seismic gap. The anomaly areas in temperature, electrical conductivity and Cl- concentration of groundwater trend northeast as linear distribution in the epicentral area and are approximately coincident with the area of the seismic intensity 6 (JMA scale). The distributions of seismic intensity 6 and groundwater anomalies convincingly imaged the presence of a buried active fault beneath the epicentral area. The occurrence of this earthquake and the anomalies of groundwater were related to the expulsion of geopressured hydrothermal system (GHS). All epicenters of the destructive earthquakes along the Shinanogawa seismic belt are actually located in the buried active fault zones characterized by the areas of temperature and geochemical anomalies of groundwater. These earthquakes might have been triggered by the activity of GHS. The expulsion of GHS along an active fault in combination with the thermal softening of fault zone attributed to high rock temperature may reduce fracture strength of the rock, and trigger earthquake occurrence. The dimension of the anomaly area of groundwater temperature at the epicentral area reflected the scale of the earthquake fault. The linear anomaly areas of groundwater resulting from the expulsion of GHS and having no historical destructive earthquake are of the predicated areas of future destructive earthquakes. Monitoring of groundwater conditions in these areas may provide useful information regarding the future occurrence of earthquakes.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy(PTTM)is a rare condition in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC);to date,few cases have been *** hepatic dysfunction has been focused on the later stages of HCC,the management of symptoms in PTTM is important for supportive care of the *** the better understanding of PTTM in HCC,the information of our recent case and reported cases have been *** SUMMARY A patient with HCC exhibited acute and severe respiratory *** and computed tomography of the chest revealed the multiple metastatic tumors and a frosted glass–like shadow with no evidence of infectious *** diagnosed his condition as acute respiratory distress syndrome caused by the lung metastases and involvement of the pulmonary vessels by tumor *** of prednisolone to alleviate the diffuse alveolar damages including edematous changes of alveolar wall caused by the tumor cell infiltration and ischemia showed mild improvement in his symptoms and imaging *** autopsy showed the typical pattern of PTTM in the lung with multiple *** PTTM is caused by tumor thrombi in the arteries and thickening of the pulmonary arterial endothelium leading to the symptoms of dyspnea in terminal staged ***,supportive management of symptoms is necessary in the cases with PTTM and hence we believe that the information presented here is of great significance for the diagnosis and management of symptoms of PTTM with HCC.

Optical near-field excitations were investigated on the basis of molecular alignment control of liquid crystals (LCs) on an optically rewritable nanostructure of photoreactive molecular thin films. Twisted nematic (TN) cells of LC molecules were constructed utilizing ITO substrates with 260 nm gratings of an azobenzene molecular thin film, fabricated using standing evanescent waves. The polarization changes of light transmitted through the TN cells, which were due to the alignment changes of LC molecules locally rubbed by the azobenzene nanogratings, were observed. Furthermore, we demonstrated local plasmon excitation of Au nanowires deposited on the azobenzene nanogratings using oblique vacuum evaporation, a phenomenon that produced strong anti-optical absorption spectra. The modulation of the local plasmon resonance in metallic nanowires decorated with LC molecules was confirmed.

This study assessed the treatment of azo dye Acid Orange 7 （AO7） containing wastewater by laboratory-scale up-flow constructed wetland （UFCW） with and without supplementary aeration. The supplementary aeration could effectively control the ratio of anaerobic and aerobic zones in the UFCW reactor. The results clearly show the supplementary aeration boosted the biodegradation of organic pollutants and mineralization of intermediate aromatic amines formed by AO7 degradation.
