Background:The development and spread of artemisinin-resistant Plasmodium falciparum malaria in Greater Mekong Subregion has created impetus for continuing global monitoring of efficacy of artemisinin-based combination therapies(ACTs). This post analyses is aimed to evaluate changes in early treatment response markers 10 years after the adoption of ACTs as first-line treatments of uncomplicated falciparum malaria in ***: At 14 sentinel sites in six geographical areas of nigeria, we evaluated treatment responses in 1341 children under 5 years and in additional 360 children under 16 years with uncomplicated malaria enrolled in randomized trials of artemether-lumefantrine versus artesunate-amodiaquine at 5-year interval in 2009-2010 and 2014-2015 and at 2-year interval in 2009-2010 and 2012-2015, respectively after deployment in ***: Asexual parasite positivity 1 day after treatment initiation (APPD1) rose from 54 to 62% and 2 days after treatment initiation from 5 to 26% in 2009-2010 to 2014-2015(P=0.002 and P 75 000 μl^-1, haematocrit > 27% 1 day post-treatment initiatiortreatment with artemether-lumefantrine and enrolment in 2014-2015 independently predicted APPD1. In paralle , Kaplan-Meier estimated risk of recurrent infections by day 28 rose from 8 to 14% (P=0005) and from 9 to 15%(P=0.02) with artemether-lumefantrine and artesunate-amodiaquine, respectively. This paper investigates how productivity influences firms' *** finn characteristics are employed to test the self-selection hypothesis alongside the effects of firms' productivity on their share of exports in total *** a pseudo-panel data set constructed from the firm-level data for the manufacturing sector in nigeria,we find no evidence that higher productivity influences the decision on whether or not a firm would participate in ***,it is established that higher productivity increases the share of exports in total sales of firms that are already participating in foreign markets.A policy implication of our result is that nigeria can realize a larger share of manufactured exports in total merchandise exports by directing efforts towards improving primarily the productivity of firms that are already involved in exports.

With increasing usage of a web services today, user required to consecrate reasoning energy to learning the complexities of the interface as opposed to the content. Interface complexity measures the degree of complexity encountered between the user and digital medium like website. This paper presents a New Interface Complexity (NIC) Metric, which partially based on existing schema metrics to weigh human insight of recent service interface;taking into account elements and attributes of XML documents implemented in?World Wide Web consortium (W3C) XML Schema (WXS) to reduce the structure affecting the effort for comprehending schema documents. The NIC metric is able to draw conclusions about the perceived qualities: interoperability, extensibility and flexibility. It was discovered that there are significant correlations between NIC metric and existing measures. Automating, this practice would be beneficial to developers and designers, as it would help to provide useful feedback in software project design to check the quality of documents for easy maintenance and properly used of XML data for distributed applications.

Bioremediation of Vegetable Oil Contaminated Soil with Two Microbial Isolates

Vegetable oil spills are becoming frequent and are potentially more challenging than petroleum hydrocarbon spills. Microbial lipases occupy a place of prominence among biocatalysts and are often used for the remediation of vegetable oil spills. There is a need for extensive characterisation of lipase for the treatment of vegetable oil-polluted sites. This work was carried out to monitor the degradation pattern of vegetable oil. Two microbial isolates previously isolated from an oil mill in Ibadan, nigeria were used for the bioremediation experiment. Soil samples (with some purposely contaminated with 2 different vegetable oils) collected from the Nursery section of the Microbiology department as well as soil samples from the oil mill were all subjected to varied treatment processes. Field bioremediation using the isolates was carried out for 12 weeks. The isolates were identified, and microbial load and residual oil weight were determined during the degradation period using standard methods. The two isolates were identified as Pseudomonas fluoresecens and Candida parapsilosis. The result of sterile soil samples with and without mixing option, from palm oil and palm kernel purposely contaminated soils for all the various treatments, showed a general increase in total viable counts from the 2nd week to the 12th week, however in the non-sterile counterpart there was a steady increase from the 2nd week to the 8th week and subsequently, a gradual decrease from the 10th to the 12th week. The residual oil weight in the sterile purposely palm oil-contaminated soil, treated with the consortium (POC) non-mixed gave a reduction of value from 0.335 g on day 0 to 0.13025 g by the 12th week. From the oil mill non-sterile, treated with (POC) non-mixed sample, the residual weight after 12 weeks of treatment was 0.0043 g from an initial weight of 0.01 g. The recent mpox outbreak(in 2022e2023)has different clinical and epidemiological features compared with previous outbreaks of the *** this outbreak,sexual contact was believed to be the primary transmission route of the *** addition,the community of men having sex with men(MSM)was disproportionately affected by the *** population is also disproportionately affected by HIV *** that both diseases can be transmitted sexually,the endemicity of HIV,and the high sexual behavior associated with the MSM community,it is essential to understand the effect of the two diseases spreading simultaneously in an MSM ***,we aim to understand the potential effects of HIV on an mpox outbreak in the MSM *** develop a mechanistic mathematical model of HIV and mpox *** model incorporates the dynamics of both diseases and considers HIV treatment with antiretroviral therapy(ART).In addition,we consider a potential scenario where HIV infection increases susceptibility to mpox,and investigate the potential impact of this mechanism on mpox *** analysis shows that HIV can facilitate the spread of mpox in an MSM population,and that HIV treatment with ART may not be sufficient to control the spread of mpox in the ***,we showed that a moderate use of condoms or reduction in sexual contact in the population combined with ART is beneficial in controlling mpox *** on our analysis,it is evident that effective control of HIV,specifically through substantial ART use,moderate condom compliance,and reduction in sexual contact,is imperative for curtailing the transmission of mpox in an MSM population and mitigating the compounding impact of these intertwined epidemics.

Global industrialization over the past centuries has resulted in widespread contamination of the environment with organic and inorganic wastes and their pattern of *** study aimed at isolating fungi from spent diesel contaminated soil around Ministry of Works in Aba,Abia State for biodegradation potentials on the soil *** four(4)fungal species were isolated from the five(5)sites using cultural and biochemical *** isolate was screened,and optical density measured using spectrophotometer.A total of 5 soil samples from each location(0-15 cm and 15-30 cm)were collected and homogenized to have composite *** were taken to the laboratory for analysis of soil physiochemical parameters,fungi count and biodegradable potential of the fungi using standard *** obtained revealed that,physical property of the soil such as sand(85.20%±0.01%),silk(6.4%±0.01%)were lower than the control location except clay(17.39%±0.01%).Chemical properties revealed highest concentration of element such as pH(4.76±0.01),total nitrogen(0.18%±0.011%),total organic carbon(3.41±0.01),sodium(0.21±0.01),potassium(0.24±0.001),magnesium(4.41±0.015),calcium(5.21±0.015),organic matter(6.18±0.011),and available phosphorus(30.99±0.01).All elements in the study site were higher than the control site with an exception to sodium(Na),which was *** isolate identified were Aspergillus niger,Trichoderma virdae,Aspergillus flavus,and Pencillum *** degradation potential of fungi identified shows that consortium degraded 29%of diesel oil from the soil followed by ***,***,*** and the least was *** study concludes that despite indiscriminate disposal of spent diesel oil,the nutrient content was still higher than control and consortium performed well in degradation.
