Dear Editor,Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)is a lentivirus that,if left untreated,can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS).The virus can be divided into two types based on genetic differences:HIV-1 and ***-1 is widely distributed worldwide and is the primary strain responsible for the global AIDS epidemic due to its high replication capacity,greater likelihood of transmission,and more severe clinical symptoms(Oeschger et al.,2021).

Objective Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease(CMT)severely affects patient activity,and may cause ***,no clinical treatment is available to reverse the disease *** combination of CRISPR/Cas9 and iPSCs may have therapeutic potential against nervous diseases,such as *** In the present study,the skin fibroblasts of CMT type 2D(CMT2D)patients with the c.880G>A heterozygous nucleotide mutation in the GARS gene were reprogrammed into iPSCs using three plasmids(pCXLE-hSK,pCXLE-hUL and pCXLE-hOCT3/4-shp5-F).Then,CRISPR/Cas9 technology was used to repair the mutated gene sites at the iPSC *** An iPSC line derived from the GARS(G294R)family with fibular atrophy was successfully induced,and the mutated gene loci were repaired at the iPSC level using CRISPR/Cas9 *** findings lay the foundation for future research on drug screening and cell *** iPSCs can differentiate into different cell types,and originate from autologous ***,they are promising for the development of autologous cell therapies for degenerative *** combination of CRISPR/Cas9 and iPSCs may open a new avenue for the treatment of nervous diseases,such as CMT.

Thirty-six cases of constipation due to spasmodic syndrome of the pelvic floor were treated by electroacupuncture, with satisfactory therapeutic results reported as follows.Clinical DataThere were 36 cases in this series, 12 males and 24 females, ranging in age from 25 to 76 years, averaging 42 years. The course of disease ranged from 6 months to 22 years, with an average of 6 years. All the 36 cases were previously treated by purgative and emollient cathartic for promoting the bowl movement.

Research and Application of Corundum Self-flowing Castables for Ladles

The existing problems of corundum self-flowing castables for ladles were expounded and the experimental study was carried out on the basis of the conventional proportion. The corundum self-flowing castables of excellent properties were obtained by changing the kinds of water reducers and active alumina powders, and super bauxite instead of brown corundum on the basis of the optimal scheme for cost reduction. The industrial test of the corundum self-flowing castable,was carried out in a 120 t converter workshop of Liusteel. The service life of the castable synchronized with the well blocks and the purging plugs, which could meet the requirements of the ladle.

The pseudorabies virus(PRV)is identified as a double-helical DNA virus responsible for causing Aujeszky's disease,which results in considerable economic impacts *** enzyme tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase 2(WARS2),a mitochondrial protein involved in protein synthesis,is recognized for its broad expression and vital role in the translation *** findings of our study showed an increase in both mRNA and protein levels of WARS2 following PRV infection in both cell cultures and animal *** WARS2 expression via RNA interference in PK-15 cells led to a reduction in PRV infection rates,whereas enhancing WARS2 expression resulted in increased infection ***,the activation of WARS2 in response to PRV was found to be reliant on the cGAS/STING/TBK1/IRF3 signaling pathway and the interferon-alpha receptor-1,highlighting its regulation via the type I interferon signaling *** analysis revealed that reducing WARS2 levels hindered PRV's ability to promote protein and lipid *** research provides novel evidence that WARS2 facilitates PRV infection through its management of protein and lipid levels,presenting new avenues for developing preventative and therapeutic measures against PRV infections.

African swine fever virus(ASFV)is a lethal pathogen that causes severe threats to the global swine industry and it has already had catastrophic socio-economic *** date,no licensed prophylactic vaccine *** knowledge exists about the major immunogens of ASFV and the epitope mapping of the key *** such,there is a considerable requirement to understand the functional monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)and the epitope mapping may be of utmost importance in our understanding of immune responses and designing improved vaccines,therapeutics,and *** this study,we generated an ASFV antibody phage-display library from ASFV convalescent swine PBMCs,further screened a specific ASFV major capsid protein(p72)single-chain antibody and fused with an IgG Fc fragment(scFv-83-Fc),which is a specific recognition antibody against ASFV Pig/HLJ/2018 *** the scFv-83-Fc mAb,we selected a conserved epitope peptide(221MTGYKH226)of p72 retrieved from a phage-displayed random peptide ***,flow cytometry and cell uptake experiments demonstrated that the epitope peptide can significantly promote BMDCs maturation in vitro and could be effectively uptaken by DCs,which indicated its potential application in vaccine and diagnostic reagent ***,this study provided a valuable platform for identifying targets for ASFV vaccine development,as well as to facilitate the optimization design of subunit vaccine and diagnostic reagents.

Chicken is an important food animal worldwide and plays an important role in human life by providing meat and *** recent significant advances in gut microbiome studies,a comprehensive study of chicken gut bacterial,archaeal,and viral genomes remains *** this study,we constructed a chicken multi-kingdom microbiome catalog(CMKMC),including 18,201 bacterial,225 archaeal,and 33,411 viral genomes,and annotated over 6,076,006 protein-coding genes by integrating 135 chicken gut metagenomes and publicly available metagenome-assembled genomes(MAGs)from ten *** found that 812 and 240 MAGs in our dataset were putative novel species and genera,respectively,far beyond what was previously *** newly unclassified MAGs were predominant in Phyla Firmicutes_A(n=263),followed by Firmicutes(n=126),Bacteroidota(n=121),and Proteobacteria(n=87).Most of the classified species-level viral oper-ational taxonomic units belong to ***,63.24%of chicken gut viromes are predicted to infect two or more hosts,including complete circular ***,we found that diverse auxiliary metabolic genes and antibiotic resistance genes were carried by ***,our CMKMC provides the largest integrated MAGs and viral genomes from the chicken gut to date,functional insights into the chicken gastrointestinal tract microbiota,and paves the way for microbial interventions for better chicken health and productivity.

Background and aims： Patient plays an important role in preventing the adverse events （AEs） and harms occurredduring medical care; however, the incidence of AEs and harms can be effectively reduced if patients actively andsuccessfully participate in their care. Organizations of safety management for patients and authorities of health systemagree that involve patients into the management on their care can obviously prevent medical error; whereas, the attitudesand actual actions of hospitalized patients for the view remain controversial. In this study, we aimed to explored patients’attitudes and actual actions participate in their own safety and whether patients with positive attitude are more likely totake action than others？ Methods： In the present cross-sectional study, convenience sampling method was adopted torecruit a sample size consist of 2052 patients from two teaching hospitals affiliated to Medical College of ShantouUniversity located in Shantou China. We used a questionnaire consist of 7 items to investigate the attitudes and actualactions of hospitalized patients participating in their care. Then the actual actions between patients with positive andnegative attitudes were analyzed using descriptive analysis and independent t-test. Results： Most patients have a positiveattitude on engaging in their safety management activity. Although most patients have positive attitude, fewer can takeactual actions. Patients with positive attitude are more likely to take actions, but there are not statistical significantdifference for positive and negative attitudes patients in terms of some items, such as “Ask doctor or nurse to wash theirhands” and “Ask nurse or doctor to confirm your identity”, etc. Conclusions： Positive attitude is an important factor thatimproves the rate of participating in the medical care activity for patients.
