Constructing controllable thermal conduction networks is the key to efficiently improve thermal conductivities of polymer *** this work,graphite oxide(GO)and functionalized carbon nanotubes(f-CNTs)are combined to prepare“Line-Plane”-like hetero-structured thermally conductive GO@f-CNTs fillers,which are then performed to construct controllable 3D GO@f-CNTs thermal conduction networks via selfsacrificing template method based on oxalic ***,thermally conductive GO@f-CNTs/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)composites are fabricated via casting *** the size of oxalic acid is 0.24 mm and the volume fraction of GO@f-CNTs is 60 vol%,GO@f-CNTs/PDMS composites present the optimal thermal conductivity coefficient(λ,4.00 w·m^(-1)·K^(-1)),about 20 times that of theλof neat PDMS(0.20 w·m^(-1)·K^(-1)),also much higher than theλ(2.44 w·m^(-1)·K^(-1))of GO/f-CNTs/PDMS composites with the same amount of randomly dispersed ***,the obtained GO@f-CNTs/PDMS composites have excellent thermal stability,whoseλdeviation is only about 3%after 500 thermal cycles(20-200℃).

In Mg-Ca alloys the grain refining mechanism,in particular regarding the role of nucleant substrates,remains the object of *** native MgO is being recognised as a nucleating substrate accounting for grain refinement of Mg alloys,the possible interactions of MgO with alloying elements that may alter the nucleation potency have not been elucidated ***,we design casting experiments of Mg-xCa alloys varied qualitatively in number density of native MgO,which are then comprehensively studied by advanced electron *** results show that grain refinement is enhanced as the particle number density of MgO *** native MgO particles are modified by interfacial layers due to the co-segregation of Ca and N solute atoms at the MgO/Mg *** aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy,we reveal the nature of these Ca/N interfacial layers at the atomic *** of the crystallographic termination of MgO,Ca and N co-segregate at the MgO/Mg interface and occupy Mg and O sites,respectively,forming an interfacial structure of a few atomic *** interfacial structure is slightly expanded,less ordered and defective compared to the MgO matrix due to compositional deviations,whereby the MgO substrate is altered as a poorer template to nucleate Mg *** solidification in a TP-1 mould,the impotent MgO particles account for the grain refining mechanism,where they are suggested to participate into nucleation and grain initiation processes in an explosive *** work not only reveals the atomic engineering of a substrate through interfacial segregation but also demonstrates the effectiveness of a strategy whereby native MgO particles can be harnessed for grain refinement in Mg-Ca alloys.

Examples of evolution,extinction and homoplasy of the larger benthic foraminifera(LBF)occur throughout their *** the Carboniferous,LBF have thrived in carbonate-rich tropical and subtropical shallow-marine shelf *** high abundance and diversity are due primarily to their extraordinary ability to inhabit a range of ecological niches and by hosting a variety of *** relatively large,centimetre-scale sizes,made some forms very specialized and vulnerable to rapid ecological *** this reason,some LBF have shown a tendency to suffer periodically during major extinctions,especially when environmental conditions have changed rapidly and/or ***,however,makes them valuable biostratigraphic microfossils and,in addition,gives invaluable insight into the spatial and temporal process of biological evolution,such as convergent/homoplasy and homology/iterative *** the evolutionary behavior of two important morphological types that occurred throughout the history of the LBF are discussed,namely the planispiral-fusiform test as typified by the fusulinids in the Late Paleozoic and the alveolinids in the Mid-Cretaceous and Neogene,and the three-layered discoid lenticular test as characterized by the orbitoids in the Mid-to Late Cretaceous,the orthophragminids in the Paleogene,and lepidocyclinids in the Oligocene to *** the propensity of these forms to convergent and iterative evolution,with the repeated re-occurrence of certain morphological features,is essential in understanding and constructing their phylogenetic relationships more generally within the main groups of the *** insights gained from the history of these LBF have wider implications,and provide a more general understanding of the impacts of climate and ecological changes as driving forces for biological evolution.

Recently, a reference derived some new higher-order output tracking properties for direct model reference adaptive control(MRAC) of linear time-invariant(LTI) systems: limt→∞ e~((i))(t) = 0, i = 1,..., n~*-1, where n~* and e~((i))(t) denote the relative degree of the system and the i-th derivative of the output tracking error, respectively. However, a naturally arising question involves whether indirect adaptive control(including indirect MRAC and indirect adaptive pole placement control) of LTI systems still has higher-order tracking properties. Such properties have not been reported in the literature. Therefore, this paper provides an affirmative answer to this question. Such higher-order tracking properties are new discoveries since they hold without any additional design conditions and, in particular, without the persistent excitation condition. Given the higher-order properties, a new adaptive control system is developed with stronger tracking features.(1) It can track a reference signal with any order derivatives being unknown.(2) It has higher-order exponential or practical output tracking properties.(3) Finally, it is different from the usual MRAC system, whose reference signal’s derivatives up to the n~* order are assumed to be known. Finally, two simulation examples are provided to verify the theoretical results obtained in this paper.

AIM: To conduct the first systematic test of the hypothesis that modulation of cardiac vagal tone is impaired in Lyme ***: The response of cardiac vagal tone to respiratory modulation was measured in 18 serologically positive Lyme disease patients and in 18 ***: The two groups were matched in respect of age,sex,body mass,mean arterial blood pressure,mean resting heart rate and mean resting cardiac vagal tone. The mean maximum cardiac vagal tone during deep breathing in the Lyme disease patients [11.2(standard error 1.3)] was lower than in the matched controls [16.5(standard error 1.7); P = 0.02].CONCLUSION: Respiratory modulation of cardiac vagal tone is impaired in Lyme disease,which suggests that Lyme disease may directly affect the vagus nerve or the brainstem.

The ability to correctly quantify activity concentration with single photon emission computed tomography （SPECT） is limited by its spatial resolution. Blurring of data between adjacent structures, which is known as partial volume effects, can be compensated for by utilizing high resolution structural information from other imaging modalities such as CT or MRI. Previously developed partial volume correction （PVC） methods normally assume a spatially invariant point spread function. In SPECT this is not a good approximation, since the resolution varies with the distance from the collimator. A new method, p-PVC, was developed in this paper, which takes into account the distance dependent blurring. The method operates in projection space and is combined with filtered back-projection （FBP） reconstruction. Results from simulations show that similar quantitative results could be obtained with p-PVC＋FBP as with OSEM with resolution recovery, although with better structural definition and an order of magnitude faster.

The current therapeutic drugs for Alzheimer's disease only improve symptoms,they do not delay disease *** re,there is an urgent need for new effective *** underlying pathogenic factors of Alzheimer's disease are not clear,but neuroinflammation can link various hypotheses of Alzheimer's disease;hence,targeting neuroinflammation may be a new hope for Alzheimer's disease *** inflammation can restore neuronal function,promote neuro regeneration,reduce the pathological burden of Alzheimer's disease,and improve or even reverse symptoms of Alzheimer's *** review focuses on the relationship between inflammation and various pathological hypotheses of Alzheimer's disease;reports the mechanisms and characteristics of small-molecule drugs(e.g.,nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,neurosteroids,and plant extracts);macromolecule drugs(e.g.,peptides,proteins,and gene therapeutics);and nanocarriers(e.g.,lipid-based nanoparticles,polymeric nanoparticles,nanoemulsions,and inorganic nanoparticles)in the treatment of Alzheimer's *** review also makes recommendations for the prospective development of anti-inflammatory strategies based on nanocarriers for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
