The transition of traits between genetically related lineages is a fascinating topic that provides clues to understanding the drivers of speciation and *** can be learned about this process from phylogeny-based trait ***,such inference is often plagued by genome-wide gene-tree discordance(GTD),mostly due to incomplete lineage sorting(ILS)and/or introgressive hybridization,especially when the genes underlying the traits appear ***,by collecting transcriptomes,whole chloroplast genomes(cpDNA),and population genetic datasets,we used the coalescent model to turn GTD into a source of information for ILS and employed hemiplasy to explain specific cases of apparent“phylogenetic discordance”between different morphological traits and probable species phylogeny in the Allium *** concatenation and coalescence methods consistently showed the same phylogenetic topology for species tree inference based on single-copy genes(SCGs),as supported by the KS ***,GTD was high across the genomes of ***:~27%e38.9%of the SCG trees were in conflict with the species *** and nuclear incongruence was also *** coalescent simulations indicated that such GTD was mainly a product of *** hemiplasy risk factor calculations supported that random fixation of ancient polymorphisms in different populations during successive speciation events along the *** phylogeny may have caused the character transition,as well as the anomalous cpDNA *** study exemplifies how phylogenetic noise can be transformed into evolutionary information for understanding character state transitions along species phylogenies.

Deciphering gastric inflammation-induced tumorigenesis through multi-omics data and AI methods

Gastric cancer(GC), the fifth most common cancer globally, remains the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Inflammation-induced tumorigenesis is the predominant process in GC development;therefore, systematic research in this area should improve understanding of the biological mechanisms that initiate GC development and promote cancer hallmarks. Here, we summarize biological knowledge regarding gastric inflammation-induced tumorigenesis, and characterize the multi-omics data and systems biology methods for investigating GC development. Of note, we highlight pioneering studies in multi-omics data and state-of-the-art network-based algorithms used for dissecting the features of gastric inflammation-induced tumorigenesis, and we propose translational applications in early GC warning biomarkers and precise treatment strategies. This review offers integrative insights for GC research, with the goal of paving the way to novel paradigms for GC precision oncology and prevention.

Soil acidifications become one of the main causes restricting the sustainable development of agriculture and causing issues of agricultural product *** order to explore the effect of different acidification on soil cadmium(Cd)availability,soil pot culture and hydroponic(soil potting solution extraction)were applied,and non-invasive micro-test technique(NMT)was *** three different soil acidification processes were simulated,including direct acidification by adding sulfuric acid(AP1),acid rain acidification(AP2)by adding artificial simulated acid rain and excessive fertilization acidification by adding(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)(AP3).The results showed that for direct acidification(AP1),DTPA-Cd concentration in field soils in Liaoning(S1)and Zhejiang(S2)increased by 0.167-0.217 mg/kg and 0.181-0.346 mg/kg,respectively,compared with control *** soil pH decreased by 0.45 units in S1,the Cd content of rice stems,leaves and roots increased by 0.48 to 6.04 mg/kg and 2.58 to 12.84mg/kg,respectively,When the pH value of soil S1 and S2 decreased by 0.20 units,the average velocity of Cd^(2+)at 200μm increased by 10.03-33.11 pmol/cm~2/sec and 21.33-52.86pmol/cm^(2)/sec,respectively,and followed the order of AP3>AP2>*** summary,different acidification measures would improve the effectiveness of Cd,under the same pH reduction condition,fertilization acidification increased Cd availability most significantly.

Adsorptive interaction between typical VOCs and various topological zeolites:Mixture effect and mechanism

Adsorption is one of the most feasible and effective methods to alleviate the volatile organic compounds(VOCs)***,the mixture effect and mechanism for competitive adsorption of VOCs on zeolites are barely *** this study,toluene,acetone,and ethyl acetate as prevalent VOCs species were removed by four potential zeolites(13X,USY,Beta,ZSM-5)in both single-and multi-component *** structure-property relationship between adsorbate-adsorbent pairs was revealed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometer,X-ray fluorescence,N_(2) adsorption and density function theory *** molecular polarity and volatility of VOCs species played key roles in adsorption and the dynamic uptakes were generally listed as follows:ethyl acetate>toluene>*** for the above VOCs mixtures,13X zeolite selectively adsorbed oxygenated VOCs rather than *** contrast,USY exhibited a preference to trap *** acetate could be readily enriched by ZSM-5 and Beta *** possible explanations and implications are discussed based on the subtle change in electron *** results obtained are vital for understanding the mixture effect of VOCs adsorption and may guide the selection of proper adsorbent for real applications.

A variable structure passivity control method for elastic joint robots based on cascaded high-order state estimation

Passivity-based controllers are widely used to facilitate physical interaction between humans and elastic joint robots,as they enhance the stability of the interaction ***,the joint position tracking performance can be limited by the structures of these controllers when the system is faced with uncertainties and rough high-order system state measurements(such as joint accelerations and jerks).This study presents a variable structure passivity(VSP)control method for joint position tracking of elastic joint robots,which combines the advantages of passive control and variable structure *** method ensures the tracking error converges in a finite time,even when the system faces *** method also preserves the passivity of the ***,a cascaded observer,called CHOSSO,is also proposed to accurately estimate high-order system states,relying only on position and velocity *** observer allows independent implementation of disturbance compensation in the acceleration and jerk estimation *** particular,the observer has an enhanced ability to handle fast time-varying disturbances in physical human-robot *** effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulations and experiments on a lower limb rehabilitation robot equipped with elastic joints.

Combining field data and modeling to better understand maize growth response to phosphorus(P) fertilizer application and soil P dynamics in calcareous soils

We used field experimental data to evaluate the ability of the agricultural production system model (APSIM) to simulate soil P availability,maize biomass and grain yield in response to P fertilizer applications on a fluvo-aquic soil in the North China *** and soil data from a 2-year experiment with three P fertilizer application rates(0,75 and 300 kg P_(2)O_(5) ha^(–1)) were used to calibrate the *** analysis was carried out to investigate the influence of APSIM SoilP parameters on the simulated P availability in soil and maize *** and soil P parameters were then derived by matching or relating the simulation results to observed crop biomass,yield,P uptake and Olsen-P in *** re-parameterized model was further validated against 2 years of independent data at the same *** re-parameterized model enabled good simulation of the maize leaf area index (LAI),biomass,grain yield,P uptake,and grain P content in response to different levels of P additions against both the calibration and validation *** results showed that APSIM needs to be re-parameterized for simulation of maize LAI dynamics through modification of leaf size curve and a reduction in the rate of leaf senescence for modern staygreen maize cultivars in *** P concentration limits (maximum and minimum P concentrations in organs)at different stages also need to be *** results further showed a curvilinear relationship between the measured Olsen-P concentration and simulated labile P content,which could facilitate the initialization of APSIM P pools in the NCP with Olsen-P measurements in future *** remains difficult to parameterize the APSIM SoilP module due to the conceptual nature of the pools and simplified conceptualization of key P transformation processes.A fundamental understanding still needs to be developed for modelling and predicting the fate of applied P fertilizers in soils with contrasting physical and chemical characteristics.

Objective This study aimed to investigate the potential relationship between urinary metals copper(Cu),arsenic(As),strontium(Sr),barium(Ba),iron(Fe),lead(Pb)and manganese(Mn)and grip *** We used linear regression models,quantile g-computation and Bayesian kernel machine regression(BKMR)to assess the relationship between metals and grip *** In the multimetal linear regression,Cu(β=−2.119),As(β=−1.318),Sr(β=−2.480),Ba(β=0.781),Fe(β=1.130)and Mn(β=−0.404)were significantly correlated with grip strength(P<0.05).The results of the quantile g-computation showed that the risk of occurrence of grip strength reduction was−1.007(95%confidence interval:−1.362,−0.652;P<0.001)when each quartile of the mixture of the seven metals was *** kernel function regression model analysis showed that mixtures of the seven metals had a negative overall effect on grip strength,with Cu,As and Sr being negatively associated with grip strength *** the total population,potential interactions were observed between As and Mn and between Cu and Mn(P_(interactions) of 0.003 and 0.018,respectively).Conclusion In summary,this study suggests that combined exposure to metal mixtures is negatively associated with grip ***,Sr and As were negatively correlated with grip strength levels,and there were potential interactions between As and Mn and between Cu and Mn.

Multimodal Social Media Fake News Detection Based on Similarity Inference and Adversarial Networks

As social networks become increasingly complex, contemporary fake news often includes textual descriptionsof events accompanied by corresponding images or videos. Fake news in multiple modalities is more likely tocreate a misleading perception among users. While early research primarily focused on text-based features forfake news detection mechanisms, there has been relatively limited exploration of learning shared representationsin multimodal (text and visual) contexts. To address these limitations, this paper introduces a multimodal modelfor detecting fake news, which relies on similarity reasoning and adversarial networks. The model employsBidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformers (BERT) and Text Convolutional Neural Network (Text-CNN) for extracting textual features while utilizing the pre-trained Visual Geometry Group 19-layer (VGG-19) toextract visual features. Subsequently, the model establishes similarity representations between the textual featuresextracted by Text-CNN and visual features through similarity learning and reasoning. Finally, these features arefused to enhance the accuracy of fake news detection, and adversarial networks have been employed to investigatethe relationship between fake news and events. This paper validates the proposed model using publicly availablemultimodal datasets from Weibo and Twitter. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed approachachieves superior performance on Twitter, with an accuracy of 86%, surpassing traditional unimodalmodalmodelsand existing multimodal models. In contrast, the overall better performance of our model on the Weibo datasetsurpasses the benchmark models across multiple metrics. The application of similarity reasoning and adversarialnetworks in multimodal fake news detection significantly enhances detection effectiveness in this paper.
