Background Blastocystis hominis(Bh)is zoonotic parasitic pathogen with a high prevalent globally,causing opportunistic infections and diarrhea *** immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infection disrupts the immune system by depleting CD4^(+)T lymphocyte(CD4^(+)T)cell counts,thereby increasing Bh infection risk among persons living with HIV(PLWH).However,the precise association between Bh infection risk and HIV-related biological markers and treatment processes remains poorly ***,the purpose of the study was to explore the association between Bh infection risk and CD4^(+)T cell counts,HIV viral load(VL),and duration of interruption in antiviral therapy among *** A large-scale multi-center cross-sectional study was conducted in China from June 2020 to December *** genetic presence of Bh in fecal samples was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction,the CD4^(+)T cell counts in venous blood was measured using flowcytometry,and the HIV VL in serum was quantified using fluorescence-based *** cubic spline(RCS)was applied to assess the non-linear association between Bh infection risk and CD4^(+)T cell counts,HIV VL,and duration of interruption in highly active antiretroviral therapy(HARRT).Results A total of 1245 PLWH were enrolled in the study,the average age of PLWH was 43 years[interquartile range(IQR):33,52],with 452(36.3%)being female,50.4%(n=628)had no immunosuppression(CD4^(+)T cell counts>500 cells/μl),and 78.1%(n=972)achieved full virological suppression(HIV VL<50 copies/ml).Approximately 10.5%(n=131)of PLWH had *** prevalence of Bh was found to be 4.9%[95%confidence interval(CI):3.8-6.4%]among *** nonlinear associations were observed between the Bh infection risk and CD4^(+)T cell counts(Pfor nonlinearity<0.001,L-shaped),HIV VL(Pfor nonlinearity<0.001,inverted U-shaped),and duration of interruption in HARRT(Pfor nonlinearity<0.001,inverted U-shaped).Conclusions

Ambient Fine Particulate Matter Exposure and Blood Pressure:Evidence from a Large Chinese Multiple Follow-Up Study

Background:One health has become a global consensus to deal with complex health ***,the pro‑gress of One health implementation in many countries is still relatively slow,and there is a lack of systematic evalua‑tion *** purpose of this study was to establish an indicator framework for global One health Intrinsic Drivers index(GOH-IDI)to evaluate human,animal and environmental health development process ***:First,82 studies were deeply analyzed by a grounded theory(GT)method,including open coding,axial coding,and selective coding,to establish a three-level indicator framework,which was composed of three selective codes,19 axial codes,and 79 open ***,through semi-structured interviews with 28 health-related experts,the indicators were further integrated and simplifed according to the inclusion criteria of the ***,the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process combined with the entropy weight method was used to assign weights to the indi‑cators,thus,forming the evaluation indicator framework of human,animal and environmental health development ***:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was formed consisting of three selective codes,15 axial codes and 61 open *** were six axial codes for“Human health”,of which“Infectious diseases”had the highest weight(19.76%)and“Injuries and Violence”had the lowest weight(11.72%).There were four axial codes for“Animal health”,of which“Animal Epidemic disease”had the highest weight(39.28%)and“Animal Nutritional Status”had the low‑est weight(11.59%).Five axial codes were set under“Environmental health”,among which,“Air Quality and Climate Change”had the highest weight(22.63%)and“Hazardous Chemicals”had the lowest weight(17.82%).Conclusions:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was established in this *** framework were universal,balanced,and scientifc,which hopefully to be a tool for evaluation of the joint development of human,animal and environmental health in diferent reg

Introduction:Foodborne botulism is a rare,potentially fatal illness resulting from the ingestion of foods contaminated with preformed botulinum neurotoxin types A,B,E,or F,produced by Clostridium *** descriptive epidemiology of foodborne botulism outbreaks in China during 2004−2020 was performed to inform public health response ***:Data from 22 of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)of the national Foodborne disease Outbreaks Surveillance System during 2004−2020 and Embase,China national Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,and Chinese Science and Technique Journals(CQVIP)from January 2004 to December 2020 to identify indexed publications in the Chinese literature using the following search terms“botulism,”or“botulinum toxin,”or“Clostridium botulinum.”The number and proportion of outbreaks,illnesses,and deaths by PLAD,food types,and contributing factors were ***:During 2004−2020,a total of 80 foodborne botulism outbreaks occurred in China,involving 386 illnesses and 55 deaths;most outbreaks were reported between June and August,with a sharp peak in January;22 out of 31 PLADs reported foodborne botulism outbreaks,Xinjiang reported the largest number of outbreaks(20),followed by Qinghai(13);the most commonly implicated foods were homeprepared traditional processed stinky tofu and dried beef,accounting for 51.25%*** processing and improper storage in contributing factors accounted for 77.50%*** misdiagnosis occurred in 27.50%of ***:Outbreaks of foodborne botulism had a high case-fatality *** food safety and popularization education to farmers and herdsmen in Xinjiang and Qinghai related to botulism prevention should be carried out,and timely outbreak investigation and hospital surge capacity should be improved.
